“Miley is absolutely wonderful. She has watched our pets for us 2 times now, goes above and beyond and truly cares about them 🫶 she relieves a lot of our stress when we’re out of town knowing someone so great is watching them.”

I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, and maintaining routines so pets feel safe and secure while you’re away. Whether a pet is energetic, anxious, or more independent, I adjust my approach to what works best for them. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets consistent attention and care throughout the day. I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine and can adjust timing as needed to help them feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I focus on creating a calm, safe, and respectful environment for every pet. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, medications if needed, and any specific preferences your pet has. I also respect your home and space, keeping things clean and secure while you’re away. I’m happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands!
About: I've taken care of dogs for 3 weeks at a time. I've trained dogs basic skills like sit, down, roll over, turn around, leave it, and sit and stay. I've had many dogs of my own and 2 cats I'm available to watch animals before and after work and I can also attend to them in between 12 and 1 on my lunch break. I work from 8:00 to 5:00. I'm early riser. I Love to keep them happy while their owners are away. When I'm caring for animals, I spend time with them I make sure they're well fed and have plenty of water. What makes me happy is having your baby happy while you are away. I love taking them for walks or even going to the park. I do like cuddling. I have no problem with your fur baby sleeping with me at night.
“Brooke and Caitlin were absolutely incredible. This was my fiancé and I’s first time using Rover and they helped us figure out exactly what services were right for our dog and 2 cats. Our dog is an anxious boy, and they were amazing with having patience while he warmed up to them. They sent plenty of photos and report cards everyday keeping us updated, and they were very quick to respond to our messages. We ended up having some trouble getting back home from our trip and they worked with us to make sure our furbabies were taken care of even with our delayed arrival. We will absolutely be booking with them again.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 10 years old, starting by helping my parents with there pet-sitting. By the time I turned 14, I began pet sitting on my own, and I’ve been trusted ever since. Neighbors, friend, and family rely on me to walk, feed, bathe, and look after their pets like they’re my own With years of hand-on experience, I understand how important it is to keep pet safe, happy, and comfortable. Whether it’s daily walks, drop-ins, or full-time care, I’m committed to giving every pet the attention and love they deserve. My schedule is flexible, and I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I plan my days around the pets I care for, making sure they get consistent attention, timely feedings, and regular outdoor time. Whether you need early-morning help, mid-day visits, or evening care, I work to accommodate your routine and keep your pet’s day running smoothly. Safety is always my top priority. I make sure every pet is supervised, secure, and cared for according to their routine and needs. I follow instructions closely, keep environments clean, and pay attention to details so pets stay comfortable and stress-free. Families, neighbors, and friends have trusted me for years because I treat every animal with patience, respect, and consistency. Your pet’s well-being comes first, and I work hard to create a calm, safe environment they can relax in.

About: I've taken care of dogs, since I was 10. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. In my family we have all ways had 2 small dogs, and now I have my current dog of 5 years, love him so much like my baby, sleeps and cuddles with me all the time. I'm currently a stay at home mom, so I have plenty of time to play/walk with your pups! I'm available for dog walking, while my son is in school and in the afternoon. Open availability on the weekends. I think trust is important when it comes to animals. Animals need to smell you first to get to know you. I always let an animal smell my hand and then I’ll ease into petting them once I can tell from body language if they want me to.
About: Hello, I am an animal lover with a pretty flexible schedule and a heart full of compassion. I believe pets are family and should be treated as such. I am present and fun and guarantee your fur babies will love their time with me! I enjoy spending time with animals and playing outdoors with them for long and short periods of time and also understand dogs have emotions just like people and need love just the same. I truly believe your pets will enjoy their time with me and will be very well taken care of while in my care. I understand how stressful vacation planning can already be and look forward to helping out with your fur babies in anyway possible. Talk to you soon! I’m currently working part-time (school hours) and have plenty of time to play and care for your pets after work. That is if they still have energy after spending all morning with my hubby, as he works nights. I am pretty much free after 3pm on weekdays. As for the month of June I am available after 1pm and completely available for the month of July. I enjoy spending time with animals and giving them time to explore the outdoors. I am patient and am able to keep up with high energy pets as well. I use baby gates in my home for safety and access.
“I would 1000% rebook Nadine! She was amazing! She did everything we needed, left great information about her check-ins, was very communicative, and just an overall fantastic experience! I’m verryyyy happy!”
“Margerita was great! She is clearly an animal lover! She was on time, took clear pictures of my two senior boys when they ate, and cleaned the cat box just like I requested (it fills up too fast to skip it, because kidney disease). She spent time hanging out so they got the human interaction that these two social cats crave. She has a very friendly and polite demeanor, and a flexible schedule that made it easy to come by at the times I needed her. I would hire her again!”

“I can't recommend Cyndi enough! She took care of my cat for three weeks and did an amazing job. Cyndi kept me updated with cute pics and messages, and my cat was super happy in her care. She's the best!”

About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has grown into my adulthood even more. I have a passion for learning and understanding all different types of animals. My experience in Pet Care is from having my own pets and caring for family, friends and volunteering over the years. I’m currently not working but I am a stay at home mom , So I’m able to have time to play with pets and make sure to do anything necessary to help out, I’m able to house sit, boarding, and foster. We do have a small male dog in the house that we can keep separate from the dogs/cats. I always check fence gates before letting a dog outside. Always lock the doors, and make sure I don't step outside without the key incase I get locked out. Providing pets with food and fresh water. Administering medication to pets according to the instructions provided by pet owners. Cleaning out litter boxes and crates. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
