About: I've taken care of dogs for 3 weeks at a time. I've trained dogs basic skills like sit, down, roll over, turn around, leave it, and sit and stay. I've had many dogs of my own and 2 cats I'm available to watch animals before and after work and I can also attend to them in between 12 and 1 on my lunch break. I work from 8:00 to 5:00. I'm early riser. I Love to keep them happy while their owners are away. When I'm caring for animals, I spend time with them I make sure they're well fed and have plenty of water. What makes me happy is having your baby happy while you are away. I love taking them for walks or even going to the park. I do like cuddling. I have no problem with your fur baby sleeping with me at night.
“This was my first time leaving my cats for longer than overnight. I read all the reviews and checked to see if Natalia was available to the days we needed and she was! What an amazing sitter she is. She popped over every day, fed them and cleaned their boxes. She sent several pictures and what a relief! We will be using her again for sure. Next time we are leaving the dogs and cats with her.”

“Kaitlyn was exceptional and went above and beyond to care for my kitty while I was away. Kaitlyn is very friendly and great with animals. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter 😊”

About: I've cared for dogs and cats since childhood, including a disabled dog who needed extra patience and attention. My family took in strays off the streets and gave them a home, so I know how to care for pets who need something beyond a routine walk — feeding, litter box care, medication, or just extra gentleness. I treat every animal like my own and always keep you updated with photos. I keep a flexible schedule and I'm available both weekdays and weekends for walks, drop-ins, and cat visits. I focus on a close, local service area so I can respond quickly, including last-minute bookings. Whether it's a regular routine or an occasional visit, I'm easy to work with and reliable. I have pets of my own at home, so I understand routines, patience, and what it takes to keep an animal safe and comfortable. When I care for pets in your home, I follow your instructions closely — feeding schedules, medication, and routines — and I'm careful with entry/exit points so pets stay secure. I treat every home and pet with the same care I'd want for my own.

About: I love animals and would love to help you watch yours if you're out or take them on walks for you! I had a German-Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador mix for 11 years, he passed away recently but brought years of joy and experience with a highly-energetic dog. I recently got my first cat, and I have lived with several other dogs and cats. I do not have any professional experience grooming or dealing with animals, but I am more than willing to help out with letting dogs out, taking them on walks, etc. I definitely have plenty of experience walking dogs because of my little guy. I look forward to hearing from you soon! I currently have quite open availability, almost any day and time should work with some notice, and I will try to make it work regardless. I have a fenced-in yard where a dog can go outside/play fetch. I have 1 cat, but he can be kept in a separate area of the house if preferred.
“Margerita was great! She is clearly an animal lover! She was on time, took clear pictures of my two senior boys when they ate, and cleaned the cat box just like I requested (it fills up too fast to skip it, because kidney disease). She spent time hanging out so they got the human interaction that these two social cats crave. She has a very friendly and polite demeanor, and a flexible schedule that made it easy to come by at the times I needed her. I would hire her again!”

About: Hello! I’ve taken care of dogs most my life! I have three big dogs and one small. I have experience with elderly dogs and young puppies. I work at my job until 2pm on weekdays so anytime after 2 and all times on the weekends I’m available for all the pet care you might need. I have nine cats of my own so I’m very vigilant about closing doors and gates, and checking any other risk factors to keep animals safe.

I truly believe your pets will enjoy their time with me and will be very well taken care of while in my care. I understand how stressful vacation planning can already be and look forward to helping out with your fur babies in anyway possible. Talk to you soon! I’m currently working part-time (school hours) and have plenty of time to play and care for your pets after work. That is if they still have energy after spending all morning with my hubby, as he works nights. I am pretty much free after 3pm on weekdays. As for the month of June I am available after 1pm and completely available for the month of July. I enjoy spending time with animals and giving them time to explore the outdoors. I am patient and am able to keep up with high energy pets as well. I use baby gates in my home for safety and access.

About: I've been working with animals, both cats and dogs, my entire life. I love animals and spending time taking care of them. I've got personal experience with my own animals (I currently have an adorable kitty and I had many pets growing up), as well as many times where I have house/pet sit for family friends and rover clients for up to a week at a time. I'm very adaptable and kind, which makes communication between me and clients efficient and sincere. I'm currently unemployed and I would love to fill my time with taking care of fur babies. Fitting in time for playing/walking/feeding pets won't be an issue for me. I am available to feed, watch, let out, play with, walk or simply keep your animal company if they have anxiety. I'm good at following directions and can work well with clients to care for their pet in the best way possible. Depending on the day, I can also stay over night with your pet to housesit if needed (I have a lot of experience with this format).
“I can't recommend Cyndi enough! She took care of my cat for three weeks and did an amazing job. Cyndi kept me updated with cute pics and messages, and my cat was super happy in her care. She's the best!”

“Brittany took care of Patches as if she were her own fur baby! Brittany went above and beyond when Patches was struggling due to my extended trip. When I returned home, Patches was very calm and content as a direct result of Brittany's care!”

About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has grown into my adulthood even more. I have a passion for learning and understanding all different types of animals. My experience in Pet Care is from having my own pets and caring for family, friends and volunteering over the years. I was relied on to take care of them with feeding them, walking, bathing them and training them. Etc. I’m currently not working but I am a stay at home mom , So I’m able to have time to play with pets and make sure to do anything necessary to help out, I’m able to house sit, boarding, and foster. We do have a small male dog in the house that we can keep separate from the dogs/cats. I always check fence gates before letting a dog outside. Always lock the doors, and make sure I don't step outside without the key incase I get locked out. Providing pets with food and fresh water. Administering medication to pets according to the instructions provided by pet owners. Cleaning out litter boxes and crates. We do prefer the animal to have a crate we can put them in or we can provide one too.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Modesto
Natalia watched my two senior cats after my regular cat sitter became unavailable at the last minute. This was my first time using Rover and I was a bit apprehensive at first, but Natalia exceeded my expectations and I have already rebooked with her to watch my cats during my next vacation.,One of my cats is extremely timid and shy, and is already coming out of hiding to interact with Natalia, and that should tell you all you need to know about her ability and connect with animals. Natalia went above and beyond and even took my trash out for me on her last day caring for my cats, and she made sure my fish were fed daily as well. Highly recommend using her to care for your fur babies!

Sarah took care of my kitties and even my shy one warmed up to her charm. I received detailed updates on a daily basis and 10-15 pictures each day. I really felt like they were in good hands with Sarah. In addition to feeding, playing and caring for my kitties, Sarah was agreeable to take out my garbage cans and bring them back in. She gave extra water to new flowers I recently planted outside and brought in packages that were delivered. Sarah notified me of a pool problem and helped avert a big problem. I will definitely ask Sarah to do drop in visits again. She did more than just what I asked but used common sense in protecting my kitties’ home.

Daisy is an outstanding caregiver. My two cats absolutely adore her. She plays with them every day she visits. She sends me multiple pictures so I can see how much fun they’re having with her. I did not worry about them at all. I will definitely hire Daisy ❤️❤️❤️ 🐈⬛🐈⬛

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Modesto. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
