“As a first time user of Rover, Lana put me at ease. My kitties have never been around other people aside from me and my ex, so it took a bit for them to warm up, but she kept me current on their progress with pics and messages. I will definitely request her again and tell everyone I know in the area about her.”

“Ruth was a perfect pet sitter for our very anxious dog, Rowdy. I was hesitant to book a vacation because I wasn’t sure how he’d do with someone new, but after our meet and greet, my fears went away. Ruth was exactly the calm, quiet person he needed to feel comfortable while we were away. She also handled our 2-year old Frenchie just fine. I’d book her again without hesitation. Would recommend!”

“Aleona is the best pet sitter I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is so good with my blue heeler; spends time with him and loves on him like he’s her own pet. I have complete peace of mind when she watches my sweet boy. He’s a older dog…15 years old!”

“Michael went above and beyond to take care of our two large hyper dogs! He brought them on daily walks/runs, trimmed their nails, provided daily updates, and left our house even cleaner then when we left! He even worked with our dogs on some behavioral issues and we are so grateful. Highly recommend that you treat your dogs to Michael’s services! He truly cares and it shows.”

“My husband and I were first-time Rover users and were very nervous about using this app. She was incredibly patient, understanding, and caring with both our pets and with me throughout the entire stay. She handled my questions and check-ins with professionalism and kindness, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while we were away. She stayed at our home and took great care of everything, including both our dog and cat. What stood out most was how comfortable our dog became with her. Luna is usually very cautious around new people and can be nervous around strangers, so seeing her warm up so quickly was huge for us. It was clear that Luna trusted her and felt safe in her care. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and a house that had been looked after. We are so grateful for all of her help and the peace of mind she provided during our trip. I would absolutely recommend her and would happily book with her again.”

“This was our first and certainly will not be our last time to have Emma watch our Morty! She was very diligent with updates and pictures several times a day. It was obvious by the photos how happy, well taken care of and loved on he was.”

“Regina did an amazing job taking care of my babies while we where out the country. Her flexibility made it so easy for my babies to adjust to our absence. Will definitely use her again.”
“Kyle was a fantastic dog-sitter! He was on-time, attentive, and quick to respond when booking a meet'n'greet, and the official date of his stay. He took great care of our dogs, and was very good about sending pictures and updates during his stay. We will definitely plan to book him again in the future!!!”
About: Growing up my family always helped shelter and rehome lost pets of all ages and types, I love animals and understand the importance of comfort that a pet needs to be in a strangers care. I enjoy gig work while I take care of my own pack at home. I do work delivery jobs and enjoy a good drive to work I like for pet areas to be clean and tidy for easy access and care. I love long stimulating walks with the pups and some toy time or practicing basic obedience commands in my time with them for mental stimulation.
“Alice was amazing! Her communication throughout the day was stellar, she was always swift to respond my texts and sent photos and videos at consistent morning, afternoon evening milestones. All those efforts really allowed me to relax and enjoy my vacation knowing my little one was in good hands. I will definitely be a regular.”

About: Back in 2023 I got my first job at 16 years old at Pet Suites as a “pet pro” which is a doggy daycare (and cats too) where you can drop your dogs off for the day while you’re at work or board them there while you’re on vacation. I also have done dog sitting outside of that job too, where I would go and take care of families dogs while they were on vacation and stay with the pets at their houses. I also was an active member of the FFA all throughout my high school years where I would raise pigs and show them at different shows. I just completed school and I’m about to go into subbing part-time at a middle school so my schedule is pretty open at the moment! I usually have a good consultation with the pet owners before dog sitting for them where I find out what they’re feeding schedule looks like and other information that would be necessary for me to know and on top of that I usually have them leave me with a list either virtually over the phone or physically on a piece of paper with all the information that I would need.
About: I have worked at Petsmart before. At Petsmart we are required to know what makes a dog comfortable while at a public place or somewhere other than home. I have watched over puppies 2 and 3 months old for my in laws a couple times now. My parents got a kitten that I helped take care of till I moved out about 10 months later. I own a chinchilla which is an exotic small animal. I’ve had her for a year. I’ve been fascinated by pets since I was a child and always do my research before taking care of an animal. I look forward to being of assistance. I fluctuate between part time and full time. I’m usually free tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays. I can schedule the time off if it’s 3 or 4 weeks in advance. I usually work mornings except for mondays, when I work evenings. I can always visit the pup or kitty during break and then spend the rest of the day with them after work. This will most likely be temporary until I can get a solid schedule here or at Home Depot. My apartment complex is very pet friendly. My building is only a few steps away from a dog park inside of the complex. The clubhouse has dog treats and I can provide as well based on age and diet. I will always ask any questions about what you would prefer for your fur baby. I have a chinchilla that stays in a cage as long as your pet is around. She is curious and will not hurt your pet even if they stick a paw in between the bars, which is hard to do anyways. My living room is a large space for any pet. I’m currently working part time, but I’m willing to do weekly stays with 2-3 weeks in advance notice. I also will require meet ups before every service in a public place. This is not going to be required for existing clients. I live in an apartment so I don’t currently own any pets, but everyone in my direct and extended family either has, or has had one that I’ve grown up with. I’m very familiar with animal routines and attributes. If something is bothering your pet, I will notice. I always keep in constant contact with whoever I petsit or help take care of for anything I may notice. Most of the time it’s things owners are already aware of, but I’ve always found it never hurts to ask and inform.
“When our scheduled Rover got sick & had to cancel last minute, Melanie swooped in and saved the day! She was fast to reply and seemed genuinely happy to be able to stay with our cat & keep an eye on our house while we were out of town. She sent great pics & we just knew instantly that our cat was getting plenty of love and attention ? She went above and beyond, and we can’t wait to have her watch our cat again - I recommend her highly to anyone looking for a sweet, professional and responsive Rover ?”

“Kaylee is one of my favorite dog sitters! She took great care of my dog and kept me informed at all times. I trust her fully with my dog and I am so happy that I got a chance to have her as my sitter.”

About: Hi! I’m Tiana founder of Honey & Hounds Pet Care 🐾🍯 I’m a nurturing, dependable sitter with a background in childcare and a special place in my heart for pets who need gentle, consistent care. I specialize in helping anxious, shy, or routine-loving pets feel safe, calm, and comfortable while their humans are away. Whether I’m staying overnight or stopping in for a walk, your pet will always receive cozy, attentive, and intentional care just like they would at home. ✨ What your pet gets with Honey & Hounds: • A calm, loving presence • Consistent feeding & potty routines • Anxiety-friendly care • Photo & video updates • Clear communication • Respect for your home and your pet’s habits • Plenty of patience and sweetness 🐶🐱 About me: • Background in childcare (I’m trusted with people’s babies and pets) • Experienced with anxious, sensitive, and shy pets • Confident handling routines and instructions • Enjoy creating peaceful, stress-free environments • Fully insured through Rover • Reliable, thoughtful, and detail-oriented • Dogs AND cats welcome 💛 🏡 My care style: I’m all about comfort, structure, and connection. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality and routines so they feel as relaxed as possible while you’re away. From feeding schedules to bedtime habits, I treat your pet like my own. 📅 Holiday & ongoing care: I offer overnight stays, walks, and drop-ins including holiday and extended care (which fills quickly!). Please message early to reserve your dates. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pet like family and keep you at ease while you’re away, I’d love to meet you and your furry baby! Let’s set up a meet & greet 🐾💛 — Tiana Honey & Hounds Pet Care I work remotely, so I have lots flexibility and lots of time to dedicate to fur friends in need of care, love hugs, and attention. Before We Start • Meet & Greet: I learn your dog’s routines, cues, triggers, and comfort items. We review leash manners, crate habits, feeding/med timing, allergies, meds, and vet info. • Customized Plan: I follow your rules—walk routes, training cues, off-limit furniture/foods, and enrichment style so care feels consistent and safe. Home & Yard Safety • Fenced-In Yard: My yard is fully fenced; I do a quick perimeter check before every play session and keep gates latched/locked. • Supervised Outside Time: No unsupervised yard time. I’m always outside with your dog, watching for digging, fence testing, or wildlife. • Secure Entry/Exit: Doors and gates are closed before leashes come off. I use a “wait” cue at thresholds to prevent door dashing. Leash & Walk Protocols • Double-Check Gear: I confirm fit on collars/harnesses and use a secure clip leash (no retractables for safety). For strong pullers, I’m comfortable with front-clip harnesses. • Controlled Routes: I choose calm routes, avoid tight dog-to-dog greetings, and keep a safe distance from potential triggers (bikes, scooters, reactive dogs). • Weather-Smart Walks: I adjust duration/pace for heat/cold, check paw pads, and provide water breaks. In high heat, we stick to shade/grass and earlier or later outings. Indoor Care & Calm • Constant Vigilance: I’m a naturally watchful caregiver (and a preschool teacher!), so I anticipate needs, redirect unsafe behaviors, and keep environments tidy and hazard-free. • Safe Setups: Trash is secured; food, plants, and chewable cords are out of reach. If you use a crate or playpen, I follow your routine to create a calm, predictable space. • Enrichment with Boundaries: Mental games, sniffaris, and puzzle feeders are supervised and chosen to match your dog’s size and chew strength. Health & Hygiene • Clean Bowls & Surfaces: Fresh water at all times; bowls and mats wiped daily. I wash hands between pets and after handling food. • Medication Handling: I give meds exactly as directed and log doses/times. I’ll reach out immediately if anything seems off. • Watchful Monitoring: I track appetite, energy, stools, and behavior changes and update you with what I observe. - just a few things I do
“We cannot say enough wonderful things about Kristie! She took absolutely incredible care of our three dogs and treated them like they were her own. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were not only safe and well cared for, but genuinely loved while we were away. Kristie also looked after our home with the same level of care and attention. Everything was spotless and exactly as we left it when we returned. On top of that, she was unbelievably flexible and accommodating when our travel plans changed at the last minute. She handled everything with professionalism, kindness, and zero stress. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and truly compassionate to care for your pets and home, Kristie is the absolute best. We would recommend her without hesitation and can’t wait to book her again!”

“We booked Chelsea for dog sitting in our home, and she was amazing! She kept us in the loop of everything going on with the pups with texts and pictures. She told us beforehand the times she would need to be away from the house and she stayed on the schedule she gave us. Never had to worry about the dogs being alone too long. I highly recommend booking with her and would definitely book with her again.”

Alexis took great care of our pets over the 4th of July weekend. We especially appreciated her willingness to help us on such a busy holiday. When we returned home, our pets appeared happy and well cared for. We were grateful to have someone we could count on while we were away.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mobile City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mobile City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mobile City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mobile City. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
