“I want to thank Ruth again for doing such a good job with my dog and Kitty. When I got home they were very relaxed and happy. The pictures I received showed how they were doing while I was away. I will definitely asked Ruth again when I go away.”

“Lana is the absolute best!! She has a kind heart. I never worry about my animals when Lana is taking care of them. She is super responsive to messages & my animals adore her!”

“Aleona was absolutely amazing! She cared for our two dachshunds and elderly cat during a snow/ice storm, and we couldn’t have felt more at ease. Her communication was impeccable, and she truly went above and beyond to make sure our babies were warm, happy, and so well loved. We’re incredibly grateful and would recommend her in a heartbeat!”

“Regina was on time, did everything we asked and kept us informed about her leaving Jet alone when she was going to be gone for a couple of hours. We came home to a happy dog and a clean house. Will hire her again.”

About: I’ve had animals my entire life and have cared for both dogs and cats since I was little. Growing up with pets has taught me how to understand their different personalities, routines, and needs. I treat every pet like they’re my own, whether that means going for walks, playing, feeding, cleaning up after them, or simply giving them love and attention. I’m dependable, patient, and happy to send photo updates so you know your pet is safe and happy while you’re away. I currently work on weekends, so I’m most available Monday through Friday. My schedule allows me to provide drop-in visits, walks, and quality time with your pets during the week. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability and make sure your pet receives the care and attention they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special routines your pet has. I’ll treat both your pet and your home with respect, make sure everything is secure before I leave, and send regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“We booked Chelsea for dog sitting in our home, and she was amazing! She kept us in the loop of everything going on with the pups with texts and pictures. She told us beforehand the times she would need to be away from the house and she stayed on the schedule she gave us. Never had to worry about the dogs being alone too long. I highly recommend booking with her and would definitely book with her again.”

“Kaylee is one of my favorite dog sitters! She took great care of my dog and kept me informed at all times. I trust her fully with my dog and I am so happy that I got a chance to have her as my sitter.”

“Awesome experience..Happy dog! Kyle stayed at our house for extended weekend with our Hazel and her disposition was so much better than when she is boarded while we are gone. Kyle went above and beyond on also taking care of the house and communicating with us! I definitely would use him again!”

“Our first time using Rover and Rachel; she was fantastic with our 3 dogs!! Rachel sent pictures and/or videos daily; stayed overnight for a week and we came home to happy pups!! When we got home they fur kids we so happy to see us but then would run over to Rachel as well, which told me they had a blast!! Thank you so much!!!”

About: Growing up my family always helped shelter and rehome lost pets of all ages and types, I love animals and understand the importance of comfort that a pet needs to be in a strangers care. I enjoy gig work while I take care of my own pack at home. I do work delivery jobs and enjoy a good drive to work I like for pet areas to be clean and tidy for easy access and care. I love long stimulating walks with the pups and some toy time or practicing basic obedience commands in my time with them for mental stimulation.
About: Back in 2023 I got my first job at 16 years old at Pet Suites as a “pet pro” which is a doggy daycare (and cats too) where you can drop your dogs off for the day while you’re at work or board them there while you’re on vacation. I also have done dog sitting outside of that job too, where I would go and take care of families dogs while they were on vacation and stay with the pets at their houses. I also was an active member of the FFA all throughout my high school years where I would raise pigs and show them at different shows. I just completed school and I’m about to go into subbing part-time at a middle school so my schedule is pretty open at the moment! I usually have a good consultation with the pet owners before dog sitting for them where I find out what they’re feeding schedule looks like and other information that would be necessary for me to know and on top of that I usually have them leave me with a list either virtually over the phone or physically on a piece of paper with all the information that I would need.
“I was so impressed with Amalia's attention to detail and compassion for my baby, Fitty (my cat-son). Amalia made me feel so comfortable so I could really enjoy myself away. Thanks so much Amalia, you did a great job and I will be hiring you again!”

About: I love caring for dogs! I have years of experience looking after different dog breeds and personalities for my family and friends. I'm good at teaching puppies basic obedience and making sure they start off with great habits. I create a safe and loving environment for dogs, giving them all the attention and care they need to be happy and healthy. My friends always count on me because I'm reliable and I genuinely adore animals. I treat every dog as if they were my own. Although I haven't had much experience with senior dogs, I'm dedicated to learning and adjusting to meet their specific needs. Pet care seamlessly fits into my daily and weekly routine. I work part-time, allowing me to be highly flexible and responsive to the needs of pet owners. I am available for boarding on weekends, providing a reliable option for those weekend getaways. During weekdays, I am available before 11 AM and after 5 PM. With prior notice, I can also take time off work to care for dogs during the day. This flexibility ensures that I can provide consistent, loving care tailored to each pet's schedule and needs. When I take care of pets in my home, I make sure to create a safe and cozy environment for them. My medium-sized backyard is fully enclosed with a gated fence, providing a secure space for dogs to play and roam. Inside, I maintain a pet-friendly, clean, and peaceful atmosphere where dogs can unwind and feel right at home. In clients' homes, I always maintain high standards of care and give them plenty of attention. I'll follow any specific instructions you provide to keep your pets' routines consistent and stress-free. Whether your pets are with me or in your home, their safety and well-being are my top priority. I treat them with the same love and respect as I would my own pets.
“We cannot say enough wonderful things about Kristie! She took absolutely incredible care of our three dogs and treated them like they were her own. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were not only safe and well cared for, but genuinely loved while we were away. Kristie also looked after our home with the same level of care and attention. Everything was spotless and exactly as we left it when we returned. On top of that, she was unbelievably flexible and accommodating when our travel plans changed at the last minute. She handled everything with professionalism, kindness, and zero stress. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and truly compassionate to care for your pets and home, Kristie is the absolute best. We would recommend her without hesitation and can’t wait to book her again!”

About: I have worked at Petsmart before. At Petsmart we are required to know what makes a dog comfortable while at a public place or somewhere other than home. I have watched over puppies 2 and 3 months old for my in laws a couple times now. My parents got a kitten that I helped take care of till I moved out about 10 months later. I own a chinchilla which is an exotic small animal. I’ve had her for a year. I’ve been fascinated by pets since I was a child and always do my research before taking care of an animal. I look forward to being of assistance. I fluctuate between part time and full time. I’m usually free tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays. I can schedule the time off if it’s 3 or 4 weeks in advance. I usually work mornings except for mondays, when I work evenings. I can always visit the pup or kitty during break and then spend the rest of the day with them after work. This will most likely be temporary until I can get a solid schedule here or at Home Depot. My apartment complex is very pet friendly. My building is only a few steps away from a dog park inside of the complex. The clubhouse has dog treats and I can provide as well based on age and diet. I will always ask any questions about what you would prefer for your fur baby. I have a chinchilla that stays in a cage as long as your pet is around. She is curious and will not hurt your pet even if they stick a paw in between the bars, which is hard to do anyways. My living room is a large space for any pet. I’m currently working part time, but I’m willing to do weekly stays with 2-3 weeks in advance notice. I also will require meet ups before every service in a public place. This is not going to be required for existing clients. I live in an apartment so I don’t currently own any pets, but everyone in my direct and extended family either has, or has had one that I’ve grown up with. I’m very familiar with animal routines and attributes. If something is bothering your pet, I will notice. I always keep in constant contact with whoever I petsit or help take care of for anything I may notice. Most of the time it’s things owners are already aware of, but I’ve always found it never hurts to ask and inform.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mobile City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mobile City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mobile City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
