Very happy with the care Nico gave to our pup. We came back to a happy and healthy dog. His communication over the 6 days we left her was nothing short of phenomenal. Pictures and updates at least 3x days was very comforting. He left our house cleaner than when we left .Highly recommended. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Isabel was an absolute delight! I was a little nervous booking with someone new, but the moment she came over to meet our dogs, I felt completely at ease. She kept us updated throughout our trip and sent plenty of photos. It was clear they were getting lots of love and attention—when we got home, they were relaxed and happy, so I knew they’d been well cared for. She will be my first call the next time I need someone to watch my boys.

Isabel was phenomenal with my three month old puppy. She took great care of him, followed my care schedule that I do with him. She did the same thing. My puppy requires a lot of care and constant supervision and she made sure everything was safe and sent me the cutest pics of my puppy throughout the day. I was able to go to work everyday relieved knowing that Isabella was taking care of my puppy!

Samantha was absolutely exceptional. She showed up right on time and immediately put me at ease with how natural and confident she was with Lucky. He’s a large dog and not always the easiest to handle, but she managed him with such calm presence and ease — it was honestly impressive to watch. What stood out most was how quickly Lucky connected with her. He genuinely loved spending time with Samantha, which says everything. You can feel when someone truly cares, and she does. We’re so grateful we found her and will absolutely be coming back again and again. I fully trust her and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, attentive, and truly great with animals.

About: Hey there! I’m Ciana, a full-time remote designer with years of professional and volunteer pet care experience and a whole lot of love to give your fur-baby. I’m available any day of the week, with short notice, whenever you need a stand-in for anything from a quick walk to a well-deserved vacation. I grew up with a household of 5 rescued bunnies and large, active-breed dogs (Labs, German Shepards, Belgium Malinois, you name it) and grew a love for animals from a young age. Throughout high school and while back home during college, I worked as a Playtime Coordinator at Pet Paradise, a pet daycare and boarding facility; I specialized in 1:1 playtime with high-energy, timid, and reactive large dogs, as well as group playtimes with all kinds of breeds of dogs and cats. I also managed feeding schedules for 100+ furry residents, kept things clean, and (of course) gave excessive cuddles. While I was away at college in New York, I kept it up by house-sitting both cats and dogs and dog-walking for locals. Now that I work 100% from home and servicing the Parkland, Coral Springs, Boca, Coconut Creek, Margate areas, my laptop setup comes with me wherever I go. Your dogs and cats won't have to worry about being left alone for hours. Instead, they’ll have a built-in office buddy ready for couch snuggles, potty and play-time breaks, multiple walks, and whatever else they need. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time. I’m also available for meet and greets prior to the designated stay so that you and your pet can feel more at ease. Hope to meet you and your furry family members soon! My schedule can easily adjust to your and your pet's needs, energy levels, and typical routines while boarding or walking. As a full-time remote designer, my workday is incredibly flexible, I easily adapt to the structure your pet is used to at home. Whether they need a high energy routine with frequent outdoor breaks and play, or prefer a quiet, cozy day snoozing on the couch, or sitting apart at a respectable distance, I’ve got it covered. I am also passionate about carefully monitoring heat and exhaustion, especially while out in the Florida sun. Because I work from my laptop, I am available any day of the week, early mornings to late nights and everything in-between, on short notice and for however long you need me. You can expect a seamless blend of my professional pet care background and a whole lot of love, ensuring your fur-baby never feels lonely while you're away! Safety, trust and honest communication are my top priorities. I ensure your home is kept secure and clean at all times. I'm vigilant and extra careful about strictly sticking to your feeding, playtime, walking and general house-care instructions. And I never miss the opportunity to send you a picture or update about your furbaby!

About: Always been around cats and dogs my entire life growing up. I also have been in the veterinary field for some years , nothing fancy but I’ve always monitored and took care of patients. Will accept medicated pets too! (Pills to insulin) Working part time for the rest of the month of August in Florida. I do have a flexible sleep schedule if needed to be adjusted for animals who require an odd time to be taken care of.(walks , feeding, etc.) The area and location are taken into consideration for limits for me and your pets. This doesn’t effect much of anything for myself personally ,your pet’s safety comes first.

Rose is a wonderful and trustworthy young lady. She was gentle and sensitive to my Lollipop’s needs and routines. We texted daily and provided pictures of their walks. Our final communication( she left my house before I came home), Rose left me a beautiful note summing up her day with Lolli. Besides all that… she left me with a clean and organized home; I greatly appreciated that! I certainly will be calling on her again!!

We recently had the pleasure of hiring Kaitlyn to take care of our dog and house while we were away, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From start to finish, Kaitlyn was incredibly professional, attentive, and caring. Before we left, we had a thorough conversation about our dog's routines, dietary requirements, and any special instructions. Kaitlyn has a natural affinity with animals which was evident at that first meet and greet. She also took on the responsibility of looking after our home. We came back to a home that was not only clean and well-maintained but also with all the little details attended to. Kaitlyn exceeded our expectations as a dog and house sitter. Her genuine love for animals combined with her professionalism and attention to detail, make her the ideal choice for anyone in need of pet and house care. We recommend Kaitlyn and will undoubtedly be using her services again is available

About: I've cared for dogs my whole life from bouncy puppies to seniors. Ive had 8 dogs over the years, and I've volunteered many animal shelters, so I'm comfortable with every breed, size, and personality, including the shy, anxious, or the high energy ones that need a little extra patience. Here's what sets me apart. First, I do photo and video for a living, so the daily updates you get from me won't be blurry phone pics. You'll always know exactly how they're doing, and you'll come home to real proof they were happy the whole time. Second, your dog gets my full one-on-one attention, no crowded kennel, no revolving door of dogs, just calm, focused care and someone who's actually present with them. And third, I keep their world exactly as they know it: same feeding times, same walks, same comfort spots, so nothing about their routine has to change just because you're away. Above all, I'm calm, attentive, and obsessed with getting the details right feeding times, walk routines, favorite toys, all of it. I treat every dog like my own. Let's start with a free Meet & Greet so you and your pup can get comfortable with me before you book anything. I work part-time on a flexible schedule, so your dog gets steady attention throughout the day instead of a sitter rushing in and out. I'm available for overnight stays and I respond fast usually within minutes. I'm also happy to be flexible on drop-off and pick-up times when travel plans shift (canceled flights and traffic happen I've got you). Message me your dates and let's set up a quick Meet & Greet. In your home (house sitting): I keep your dog's world exactly as they know it same feeding times, same walks, same comfy spots. I'm respectful and tidy in your space, follow every instruction you leave, and keep your home locked up and secure. I stay overnight so your dog is never alone, and you'll get regular photo and video updates so you can relax on your trip. In my home (boarding): Your dog gets a calm, clean, one-on-one environment with my full attention no crowded kennel, no chaos. I live in a non-smoking home in Downtown Fort Lauderdale with easy access to walks and parks nearby, and dogs are always welcome on the couch and bed so they never feel shut out.

About: At 19, I adopted my first puppy, Sophie. She was a Shepherd Mix with deceptively small paws and a calm demeanor. Time would later reveal her to be very hyperactive, loud and 100+ lbs of pure loyalty and love. Unfortunately, she also suffered from seizures at an early age and the medication was not easy on her body. Suffice to say that I adopted a lot more that day, and I would never change a thing. We learned and grew so much with each other in her short 12 years. I believe my experience owning, loving, and caring for Sophie translates seamlessly into my ability to take care of your furry family members. My current schedule is relatively open and allows for availability when I (or your pet) needs it. My weekday schedule is very flexible and allows for change accordingly. I’m also available weekends and holidays. I live on the first floor of my very dog friendly apartment building. The unit is about 1000 sq. ft. and sits above a utility room - so it can definitely accommodate your pet’s post-dinner zoomies. I don’t have a closed in yard but I live near a park that has a path so most dogs enjoy walks there. Additionally, I have a large, metal crate available if needed.

FAQs for House Sitting - Mission Bay

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Mission Bay on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 4,034 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mission Bay. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mission Bay walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mission Bay maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mission Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mission Bay. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
