“Marissa stayed with my 2 girls for 3 nights and took such great care of them! She treated them like they were her own and gave them lots of love and snuggles during some really bad thunderstorms that cause them a lot of anxiety. She sent me lots of pictures and communicated consistently throughout her stay. I have already booked her for another trip I’m taking next month. Highly recommend Marissa if you’re looking for an overnight sitter!”

“Samantha was absolutely exceptional. She showed up right on time and immediately put me at ease with how natural and confident she was with Lucky. He’s a large dog and not always the easiest to handle, but she managed him with such calm presence and ease — it was honestly impressive to watch. What stood out most was how quickly Lucky connected with her. He genuinely loved spending time with Samantha, which says everything. You can feel when someone truly cares, and she does. We’re so grateful we found her and will absolutely be coming back again and again. I fully trust her and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, attentive, and truly great with animals.”

“Izabela was WONDERFUL with our VERY energic puppy! She took her out to play many times a day and was able to handle her excitement! Izabela sent us updates and pictures every day, multiple times a day! She was extremely professional when we met, she followed up the day before to confirm everything, and was on time. I cannot recommend her enough! We will definitely be booking again!”

“This was our first time using Nico and we will definitely book again! He was so attentive to our girls. He gave updates multiple times a day and captured great moments on camera and video. We were completely at ease while on vacation knowing that Nico was caring for our fur babies!”

“Isabel was an absolute delight! I was a little nervous booking with someone new, but the moment she came over to meet our dogs, I felt completely at ease. She kept us updated throughout our trip and sent plenty of photos. It was clear they were getting lots of love and attention—when we got home, they were relaxed and happy, so I knew they’d been well cared for. She will be my first call the next time I need someone to watch my boys.”

“This was our first time using someone who we didn’t know to care for our baby. Upon meeting Vianca, she was so friendly and kind. She listened and understood our pets needs & followed them perfectly. She sent photos throughout the evening and kept us updated. I couldn’t recommend her enough! We will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Upon our first meeting, I knew that Pamela was going to be a good fit for my fearful dog. I highly recommend Pamela for dog sitting. She is extremely responsible, friendly, and trustworthy. Sophie is not an easy dog but bonded nicely with her. Thank you Pamela for making my trip more pleasant with less stress and worry.”

About: I've had dogs and cats my whole life and I love caring for pets! When I was young I used to volunteer at a family friend's vet clinic and I loved getting to meet so many sweet animals. I look forward to being able to help both you and your pet! I’m currently working part time and taking some online classes so my schedule is flexible. I’d love to be able to help out some owners with walks, time with pets, or just stopping in to check on your pet. I’ve had pets, both dogs and cats, my whole life and I love love animals! I love to spend my time with animals and I’m very content to spend easy chill time with your pet or run around with them outside!
“Professionalism at its best. Loving and caring. Hellen O watched my partner for 2 days and went above and beyond any expectations I had. Extremely dedicated to the animals in our lives.”

“We recently had the pleasure of hiring Kaitlyn to take care of our dog and house while we were away, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From start to finish, Kaitlyn was incredibly professional, attentive, and caring. Before we left, we had a thorough conversation about our dog's routines, dietary requirements, and any special instructions. Kaitlyn has a natural affinity with animals which was evident at that first meet and greet. She also took on the responsibility of looking after our home. We came back to a home that was not only clean and well-maintained but also with all the little details attended to. Kaitlyn exceeded our expectations as a dog and house sitter. Her genuine love for animals combined with her professionalism and attention to detail, make her the ideal choice for anyone in need of pet and house care. We recommend Kaitlyn and will undoubtedly be using her services again is available”

About: I’ve been around dogs all my life. I’ve had a dog for 12 years and counting and I’ve been running a small dog walking/sitting job over the summer but id like to expand and do something while I’m in college. I can work almost any day of the week as long as I’m not in class. Fridays and weekends I can work longer. I work part time while I’ll be in college. I’ve been doing a small business where I drop in at peoples houses or stay overnight and they trust me to do so. I can also pick your dog up to go to the park.
“Catherine spent 3 nights with our girl in our home and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. She was communicative with us at least 3 times a day and kept us updated on how she was doing. Our Doberman is high energy and she made sure to take her on plenty of walks. Highly recommend using her as a trusted dog sitter while you’re away!”

“Well, our pups have a new Auntie! I can only say that Auntie Evelyn went above and beyond. Not only is she very professional, she is very warm and caring. Evelyn will take extra care and spoil your furbabies. She watched Maggie & Milo in our home, and when we returned back from vacay, our home was cleaner than before we left. I highly recommend Evelyn for all your pet sitting needs. Can't wait to go away again. Thank you and see you soon! Fred & Lisa & Maggie & Milo”

“Ian is so patient with our sometimes stubborn 85 lb goldendoodle, penny! He is great in his communication and you can tell he truly loves animals. We booked Ian for sitting penny in our house and he is very trustworthy. Highly recommend booking Ian for your dog sitting needs!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals my whole life. Friends regularly leave their dogs and cats with me for boarding or ask me to stop by for feeding and walks. I also have experience caring for small-breed puppies. Your pet will be safe, loved, and well cared for with me. I am always at home, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention. I can comfortably provide temporary boarding, visit your home for feeding, or take your pets out for regular walks. I live in a quiet area with very little traffic and a backyard without a fence, providing plenty of space for dogs to walk and play. I have a small, friendly dog who gets along well with others, and a cat who is rarely indoors and spends most of his time outside.

About: I have the biggest heart for animals. I grew up with a golden retriever and 3 cats, but have been surrounded by friends and family’s animals my whole life. Many people in my town back home will have me walk their pups, stop in and let them out, and trust me to stay with their furry friends for days at a time. I have a very open class schedule so I am able to be very flexible and all over the place when it comes to to pet care I am still working on a solution to how I can keep pets in my apartment. But I am happy to stay as long as needed in homes to keep their pup company. I can so quick drop in visits or stay for a lengthy amount of time. I’d love to bring these dogs to the beach or on a walk on some trails!

About: I have been volunteering at an animal shelter since I was very young! This gave me the chance to work with various dogs ranging in size. I have been able to help them behaviorally and train them to the best possible pets. I currently work part time, which gives me a lot of free time as a college student living at home. I would be able to incorporate them into my everyday life. I have a gated community and backyard which makes it accessible for the puppy to be walked. They will also have a large living room space with only tile- perfect for them to roam around.

So, so, so thankful to have found Madalynn!!!! This was my first Rover experience and we were so blessed to have connected with her. I needed a pretty last minute dog sitter to stay at our home and she was super accommodating, great communication, made the meet and greet easy, put my mind at ease while we were away and most importantly my 13 year old Yorkie loved her. Chichi can be a little picky with her humans and it melted my heart to know Chichi slept with Madalynn on night 1. She clearly made Chichi feel very comfortable and safe, which I am so grateful for. You will be my go-to from now on and Chichi agrees! We received updates and pics throughout our trip and just thank YOU Madalynn for making this experience stress free for us and being so wonderful!

Upon our first meeting, I knew that Pamela was going to be a good fit for my fearful dog. I highly recommend Pamela for dog sitting. She is extremely responsible, friendly, and trustworthy. Sophie is not an easy dog but bonded nicely with her. Thank you Pamela for making my trip more pleasant with less stress and worry.

Ian stayed at my house for two weeks. He took good care of my little Rosie and my house. He is very flexible and a very good choice for a reliable person to stay in your home. His work schedule allows him to work from home so he was with Rosie most of the time.

Melanie has been such a blessing for our little 12-week-old pup! She is incredibly reliable and always on time, which made each day run smoothly. Most importantly, she is so caring and patient — exactly what a young puppy needs. Our pup adored her and was relaxed, happy, and well cared for every time she was here. We can’t recommend her enough!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whisper Walk walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whisper Walk maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whisper Walk choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whisper Walk. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
