About: I have the biggest heart for animals. I grew up with a golden retriever and 3 cats, but have been surrounded by friends and family’s animals my whole life. Many people in my town back home will have me walk their pups, stop in and let them out, and trust me to stay with their furry friends for days at a time. I have a very open class schedule so I am able to be very flexible and all over the place when it comes to to pet care I am still working on a solution to how I can keep pets in my apartment. But I am happy to stay as long as needed in homes to keep their pup company. I can so quick drop in visits or stay for a lengthy amount of time. I’d love to bring these dogs to the beach or on a walk on some trails!

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has always been something I genuinely love. I have 15+ years of hands-on experience caring for animals, from my own pets and family pets to working in the pet industry. I’ve cared for many different kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, snakes, and bunnies, and I’ve learned that every animal has their own personality, routine, quirks, and way of communicating. I really enjoy taking the time to get to know each pet and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their family is away. My experience also includes pet sitting, dog walking, boarding, training, enrichment, and learning about pet nutrition and everyday animal care. I’m comfortable following specific feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and household preferences. I’ve also worked with pets who need a little extra patience or understanding, and I believe the best care comes from paying attention to the little things—whether that's recognizing when a shy pet needs space, giving an energetic dog plenty of play and exercise, or simply keeping a nervous animal company. Most importantly, I don't see pet care as simply a job. I genuinely love animals, and I want every pet I care for to feel like they're spending time with someone who truly enjoys being around them. 🐶🐱🐰🐠🦜🐍💕 I’m available Monday–Friday from 5:00 PM–11:45 PM, with open availability on weekends from 10:00 AM–11:45 PM. I’m happy to work with your schedule and can be flexible when possible. 😊 Whether your pet needs an evening visit, a late-night check-in, or weekend care, I’d love to help! 🐶🐱💕 I treat every pet and every home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, needs, and any special instructions before their care begins. When caring for pets in their home, I’m respectful of their space and keep their environment clean, secure, and comfortable. I make sure doors, gates, and other areas are safely secured, follow feeding and medication instructions carefully, and stay attentive to their behavior and surroundings. When caring for pets in my own environment, I provide a calm, clean, and supervised space where their safety and comfort come first. I never assume every pet has the same needs, so I adjust my approach to each individual animal. I also believe communication is a big part of trust. I’m happy to send updates and photos so you can feel confident knowing your pets are safe, comfortable, and being genuinely cared for while you’re away. 🐶🐱💕

About: I'm a caring, responsible, and dependable pet sitter. As someone who has had pets my entire life, I understand that every pet has their own needs and personality. I have a genuine love to get to know and care for each animal as they need. I have expertise with pets of all ages and needs and can't wait to grow a bond with yours! I am currently an online student at FAU, since I take online my school work will not interfere with care. I am in the process of getting a part time job but it will only be for a few hours a day. Therefore, no animal will be left alone for more than a few hours. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. I follow the pets normal routine as normal as possible, making sure their feeding, walks, etc are as close to normal as possible. I also respect clients home while caring for their pets by keeping their space clean and tidy.

About: Hi! I’m a college student at FAU, originally from NJ. I have 2 dogs of my own (boxers) and have grown up around animals my whole life such as cats, dogs, and even reptiles! I have a dog who requires seizure medication and a senior dog with hip issues who requires medication and extra assistance from time to time. Therefore, I am experienced with making sure your pet receives any medication or any extra assistance they may need. Being so far away from my pets has been hard. I would love to take care of and meet your pets! I am currently a college student with about 1 class a day Monday-Friday. I have lacrosse on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every once in awhile Saturdays for 2 hours. I am able to come and take care of/let out your pets anytime besides the few hours I am preoccupied. I have had experience with dogs (specifically big dogs) for the past 10 years and am well knowledged on the proper care needed. I take my dogs (2 boxers) on walks frequently and feed them/give them their medicine. I have a senior dog with hip issues who requires medication and extra assistance jumping on furniture and requires short walks. My other dog experiences seizures and is given medication daily to prevent them as well as medication to stop them when they are occurring. Besides dogs, I have a couple years of experience living with and taking care of cats. I also have grown up with reptiles!!

About: Hello! My name is Ivy. I'm a university student looking for work. I am responsible and obsessed with dogs. Happy to watch cats as well. I have experience watching, walking, and caring for both. I'm missing my dog so much. She recently fell very sick and had to be put down. I need my doggie fix while I'm at University. I'm American and have lived all over the world with my family in the US Foreign Service. I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I'm open to staying at your place for up to one week. Same goes for walks or potty breaks/ play time. I can also walk or use the bikes. I'm happy to meet the needs of your pet - take them out and about with me, or sit in your house. You make the rules. I will be aware of your pet's disposition - if they're not social or good with other pets, we can structure our time accordingly. You make the rules clear, and I'll follow them. I currently have an open and flexible schedule, so I'm available any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. This allows me to provide your pet with consistent care, plenty of attention, regular walks, playtime, and lots of love while you're away. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I've owned a dog myself and always made sure they were safe and never got out, so I understand how important trust is. I provide plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, and playtime, and will always follow your pet's routine and any special instructions to help them feel comfortable and cared for.

Marian was absolutely wonderful!!! She went above and beyond while taking care of Hunter this past weekend. She sent plenty of photos and videos, kept in touch regularly, and made sure I always felt updated and at ease. Hunter can be a bit particular with his schedule — going in and out, changing collars for day and night, etc. — but Marian handled it all perfectly. He was clearly comfortable and happy with her, which says everything! On top of that, she took excellent care of my home, was very respectful, and truly made the whole experience stress-free. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Highly recommend Marian — we will definitely be booking with her again!

About: I’ve been around dogs all my life. I’ve had a dog for 12 years and counting and I’ve been running a small dog walking/sitting job over the summer but id like to expand and do something while I’m in college. I can work almost any day of the week as long as I’m not in class. Fridays and weekends I can work longer. I work part time while I’ll be in college. I’ve been doing a small business where I drop in at peoples houses or stay overnight and they trust me to do so. I can also pick your dog up to go to the park.

About: I lived my entire life with at least one Maltese in the house, so I know a thing or two about how those fur babies tick. That knowledge has come to span across numerous dog breeds, especially those teeny tinier guys! I’ve walked, bathed, fed, watered, and played with my own little dogs, my friend’s little dogs, and my friend’s friend’s little dogs. Yours will always be in good hands as long as I’m around :) I’m working part time and heading back to school next year, so for the time being, I have a lot of time to hang out with your furry children! My work schedule varies week to week, but I’m typically off no later than 5:00. Message me to see my availability, until further notice! Pets in my home are always within eyeshot. I make it a point to ensure all cords and choking hazards are put away (as I have a small kitten who would get into them otherwise). Any visits to the balcony are entirely supervised, and I even keep a small playpen to take outside should a pet need it. As for home care, my aim for safety doesn’t change even at your place. I will ensure nothing is around for your pet to get into, and follow any additional instructions to a T (such as crating, keeping animals separate, etc.)

I’m currently working part time as a barista and am studying Theatre in college! About: I have taken care of not only my own dogs but also other people's. From small Yorkies to big Pitbulls and Golden Retrievers, 2 years old to 13 years old, I enjoy caring for all kinds of dogs. I have had three dogs of my own and always love showing animals some love first thing when entering a new home. Some of my best skills are feeding the pets properly, ensuring they have a clean environment, monitoring behaviors between various different dogs, and playing when they are up for it! I have even cared for dogs with Medications, making sure to keep them on schedule and healthy while their owners are away. I adore animals and I would love to get to know some new ones. I am currently a Full-Time college student at FAU living on campus. I only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays but the rest of my days tend to be filled with homework, studying, and student events. Despite that, there is time in my week to set aside in order to watch over some houses and pets for families who need it. I know how to navigate my time and do what I need with what I have. I can adjust well to new places and understand boundaries within other people's homes. I am able to keep animals in the spaces that they are meant to be in and make sure they have a cleanly environment.

I highly recommend London's dog-sitting services. My dog fell in love with London within seconds of meeting her—it truly was love at first sight. From the very beginning, it was obvious how deeply she cares for animals. She has a calm, gentle manner that immediately put our dog at ease, whether she was playing with him, taking him for walks, or simply spending time with him. While we were away, London kept us updated with thoughtful text messages and photos, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. She took the initiative to learn every detail about our dog's routine and care, followed all of our instructions carefully, and went above and beyond by meeting with us before our trip to ensure everything would go smoothly. We returned home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend London to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable pet sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Highland Beach

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Highland Beach on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 3,405 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Highland Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Highland Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Highland Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Highland Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highland Beach. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
