I am so grateful I found Michael to help take care of all my babies. Not only did he take incredible care of my large difficult dog, he also took great care of my bird, rabbit, and cat. He communicated well, sent pictures, and everything was perfect when I returned.

About: I’m a caring and reliable pet sitter with a genuine love for animals of all kinds and ages. As a licensed pharmacist, I have extensive experience safely administering medications — both to pets and humans — and I’m very comfortable following detailed care instructions to make sure your furry family members get exactly the care they need. I’ve had the joy of sharing my life with a wonderful German Shepherd and two rescue cats. Though my current housing situation doesn’t allow me to have pets of my own right now, I still cherish every moment I get to spend with other people’s pets. I especially love active dogs — bonus points if yours is a frisbee enthusiast! You can trust that your pets will receive attentive, compassionate care in a calm and structured environment while you’re away. I work part-time remotely, which gives me the flexibility to provide lots of attentive, one-on-one time with your pets throughout the day. I’m very active and love going on walks, runs, or trips to the park, so I’m a great match for energetic dogs or playful cats. My availability is generally flexible, though it works best if you’re comfortable with my children (ages 9 and 11) joining me during visits if your booking falls on my parenting time (please ask if it’s an issue). I’ve been trusted by many clients — including friends and strangers alike — to care for their beloved pets and homes. I provide daily updates and photos throughout each booking so you can stay connected and feel completely at ease while you’re away.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was 10 years old, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have a dog of my own that I trained myself, and I’ve cared for pets of all ages, breeds, and personalities. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, or has special needs, I’m happy to tailor my care to what makes them feel most comfortable. If your dog enjoys having a playmate, mine would love to join them for walks or playtime (with your approval, of course!). I’m a flight attendant, so pet sitting is the perfect way for me to spend my time when I’m home. I’m typically home about half of each month, and during those days I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention and work around their normal routine. I have experience caring for pets both in my home and in their own, although I generally prefer caring for them in their familiar environment whenever possible. I can administer basic care, crate pets if needed, provide walks, playtime, enrichment, and even trips to the park if that’s something they enjoy. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away, so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I am a flight attendant so this is a great job for when I am not flying which is normally about half the month. When I am home I have practically uninterrupted time so I can work around what kind of care you are needing. I am very familiar with watching dogs in their own home and my own but would prefer it be in their own home. I can crate them if needed, walk, play, and or take them to the park if they enjoy that.

Christy is amazing! She recently watched hed our house and two young dogs in Bend. We aren't the easiest people to take of either as our dogs have a lot of medications, are relatively high energy, and we asked her to help with many other things such as watering our plants. We came home to our house better than we left it and the pups seemed so well taken care of and very relaxed. I HIGHLY recommend her!

About: I have my own dog, got him at 12 weeks he is 7 now. I also grew up with dogs as a kid to adulthood. My dog has a lot of health problems so I know a bit when it comes to a sensitive dogs or ones that needs things done a certain way because of a condition. It really depends on the day, but mostly I could so daily or weekly. I’m dealing with some health stuff and my dog has too. So I’m currently working on those but have plenty of time most days to do something like this. I have a fenced in yard for my dog, when I was in college one house I did it so he was constantly on a leash outside, another house I was in had fences but had to patch them up and make sure he couldn’t get out. I also created my dog at night he loves his crate. During the day when he is alone he has most of the house free to roam, but I will put down potty pads just in case. If clients are okay with there dog out or crated I’m for both.

Kasey was incredible with our pups, Eddie and Jennie, while we were gone for five days. We told her all their little quirks and favorite things, and she was so thoughtful and accommodating with everything. She took them on hikes every day, planned play dates, sent us tons of pictures, and made sure they got all the cuddles they could ever want. We ended up having travel delays, and Kasey didn’t hesitate for a second she happily kept them an extra night and made the whole situation so much less stressful for us. We’d recommend Kasey over and over again. We’ll definitely be booking with her in the future! Thanks for being great Kasey 🤗

About: I raised my own dog from puppy until she passed away 2 years ago. I have also worked to take care of and train the therapy dogs in the woods at Deschutes Wilderness Therapy. I have been house and pet sitting in Bend or about a year, but have previous experience caring for the pets of friends and loved ones. I work in the evenings as a piano instructor Monday-Thursday. My mornings, early afternoons, and evenings are totally free to give your pets love and attention. I am not able to board your pet in my home. I am happy to came stay in your home overnight, or drop in throughout the day to care for your cats and dogs.

About: My name is Colin, and I treat every dog I board like family. As a remote worker, my schedule is built around flexibility — which means your dog is never left alone wondering when someone's coming home. I'm here throughout the day for walks, playtime, cuddles, and everything in between. Whether your pup thrives on a strict routine or needs a little extra patience and reassurance in a new environment, I have the time and attention to make it work. I've spent several years caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels, so I'm comfortable with everything from the exuberant puppy who needs constant engagement to the senior dog who just wants a calm, cozy place to rest. I understand that every dog is an individual, and I take the time to learn what makes yours feel safe and at ease before you even drop them off. I live in a quiet, comfortable home where your dog will have plenty of space to relax indoors. We live within walking distance of several parks, and my girls and I love to take adventurous dogs on hikes or to Bend's many dog parks. We'll stick to as much of their normal routine as possible — their feeding schedule, walk times, and any special habits — because familiar rhythms make a big difference in how happy and settled a dog feels away from home. I know handing your dog off to someone new takes trust, and I don't take that lightly. You can expect regular photo and text updates so you can enjoy your time away with real peace of mind. I'd love to meet your pup — feel free to reach out! I work from home (I'm a teacher at an online charter school) with a flexible schedule to provide lots of care and attention to your dog. My teenage daughters (ages 13-16) are willing and able to provide lots of extra love and cuddles for the dogs we care for. We are currently a pet-free home and can provide exclusive time and attention to the dogs we board. I am a middle-aged career professional who takes pride in doing quality work. We provide a level of care that allows you to rest easy with the peace of mind that your dog is getting the kind of love and attention they deserve. We provide detailed updates and regular photos so you'll be able to see what they're up to the whole time you're away.

I’m pleased for the opportunity to write this review of Lea. My husband and I are both retired so Gracie, our Golden girl, is with us all of the time. When we do leave her she can become anxious. My goal was to find someone that would have the ability to spend a lot of time with her. In my initial meeting with Lea, it was obvious how much she loves dogs and spending time with them. It was also clear that she has a great understanding of their physical and emotional needs. I was confident that I had found the right person to watch Gracie in our home for the 3 nights we planned to be gone. When Gracie developed stomach upset, Lea knew exactly how to adjust and manage her diet in order to alleviate further symptoms and to make her more comfortable. When we arrived home Gracie’s stomach issues had subsided and she was relaxed and happy. Not only did I come home to a happy-healthy dog, Lea also had taken great care of our home and yard cleaning up after Gracie. I truly couldn’t have asked for a more conscientious person to care for our dog and home. Lea is a 10, out of 10!

FAQs for House Sitting - Millican

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 615 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Millican. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Millican walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Millican maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Millican choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Millican. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
