“Barbara took great care of our cat Charly! We were very happy and at ease with the updates about how our Charly was and how his visits were going. The consistency and thoroughness of the visits and updates were great. We were at ease our entire vacation knowing the he was very well taken care of. We will definitely be rebooking with Barbara for our next vacation and of course recommend her.”

“Jennifer provided excellent care for my cat while we were away. She stepped up when my car got sick and handled unexpected vet visit, added extra visit to admin his medication, and maintained clear communication throughout. I very much appreciate her dedication and am very grateful for her help!”

About: What sets me apart is my ability to be both caring and dependable in moments that require real attentiveness—something I’ve developed through years of working in community programs, internships, and leadership roles. Whether I was leading a team project, supporting a friend, or organizing events through my cycling club, I’ve always been someone who shows up fully and handles responsibility with care. I bring that same energy to pet care—tuning into each animal’s needs, whether it’s keeping up with an energetic puppy or being patient with a senior pet. I’m calm, communicative, and take pride in making both pets and their owners feel secure and understood. As a recent grad preparing for law school and transitioning into the workforce, my schedule is relatively flexible—especially during the weekdays. Pet care has been a grounding and fulfilling part of my routine. It gives me the chance to stay active, present, and connected in a meaningful way while balancing studying and professional goals. I genuinely enjoy the rhythm of it, and I treat every booking with the same level of care and responsibility I bring to my academic and work commitments. Whether I’m in my home or yours, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I love making sure everyone—pets and people—feels comfortable, safe, and at ease. That’s something I’ve really practiced through leading Catching Wind, the cycling and wellness club I started in college. Creating a space where people felt welcomed, supported, and looked after—whether they were riding for the first time or just needed community—taught me a lot about patience, attentiveness, and how to care for different needs. I bring that same approach to pet care. I listen closely, follow instructions, respect your space, and aim to create an environment where your pet feels loved, relaxed, and understood.
“Nicole is a rockstar! As a relatively new dog day, I was surprise nervous to start using Rover. But Nicole made the process super easy for me and Grizzly. Simply the best! Highly recommend”

About: Hey! I’m Connor. I'm a Firefighter/EMT with pet CPR and First Aid certification. I live in my own home in a quiet suburban neighborhood with a large, securely fenced backyard. Both the house and yard were recently redone, so everything is safe, clean, and ready for your pet. During meals, all dogs are separated, and the home is kept neat, hazard-free, and even safe for those expert counter surfers! The space can also be easily divided if dogs need a little personal time. If you're looking for someone responsible and experienced who can handle whatever situations pets throw your way - you've found the right person. The two priorities for your dog's stay will be safety and plenty of photo and video updates so you always know they're doing great! I live with my yellow Lab, Kygo. He's super friendly, loves to play with all our visitors, and knows when to give space if another dog needs it. My cousin Patrick also lives here, so there's always someone home to keep an eye on your pup. I've raised many well-trained dogs over the years, mostly Labs, using positive reinforcement and lots of patience instead of harsh discipline. I have been watching dogs for many years now and I'm also well aware of the curveballs watching dogs can throw at you. As a firefighter I'm always over the top careful about things and it's no different when it comes to my dogs. So if any medical issues or situations pop up I'll be sure to have vet and medical info from you in advance so we can make sure your dog is taken care of. I am very familiar with the 24/7 vets in the area and their different specialties should something require immediate attention. I'll do my best to keep your dog's routine as close to home as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special instructions. There are plenty of supervised group play sessions in the backyard, balanced with time to relax indoors. I'll make sure you're always kept up to date by sending plenty of pictures and updates, and I always respond promptly to texts and calls. I know it's nervewracking leaving your pet with a new person, so feel free to stop by the house to meet Kygo and me and see the yard. Looking forward to working with you and meeting your pet! I am often available for last minute bookings as well as weekends and holidays. So if the need arises so feel free to put in any last minute or holiday requests. Pets are always fed, given water, and walked and any special instructions provided by owner are taken care of. Directions always clarified to make sure we're on same page. Have worked with plenty of dogs with allergies and preventive measures taken with dogs that require extra attention!

About: I’ve had two dogs! My first dog was a Maltese named Rocky. He passed away in 2017 from lymphoma. 💔 Right now, I have a 9-year-old terrier mix named Lila! She’s full of energy and loves running around the yard, going for walks, and playing fetch with her toys. I’ve been helping take care of my family’s & friends dogs since I was a little girl, and I’ve always loved dogs of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. 🥰 I’m currently in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program at FDU. I started in May, and the program is 15 months long, so I’ll be graduating in September 2027. My classes are a mix of online and in-person, but I’m generally available all day on Monday, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to house sit and available Tuesdays and Thursdays for drop-ins and walks! Whether your dog needs a walk, a trip to the park, someone to play with, or just a buddy to relax with on the couch, I’m happy to help! I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, love, and care while you’re away. Just let me know what you need, and I’d be happy to make it happen. 😊
“Anthony is awesome! This was his 2nd time taking care of my dog, and has been reliable and responsive. Thanks to him I can have worry-free trips, and Loki gets a companion to play with. Top dog sitter, five stars!”

“This is the second time Veronica has watched our cats and she was wonderful again. Went above and beyond with great care and great communication. Highly recommend!”

“Grace has been an extreme blessing to me and my husband. We are first-time pet owners and she was God sent. Very responsible, punctual, and kind to Nipsey. He loves her. Thanks again Grace! You now have a permanent client!”

“This is the second time we’ve used Katrina for stopping by to watch/ feed our cats and she’s been great! Always on time and quick response. We recommend her for your pet caring needs.”
“We were very happy with the care that Barbara provided for our elderly cat. She provided daily updates and photos which were greatly appreciated. We enjoyed our vacation knowing Zoe was in good hands!”
About: I’ve cared for my Samoyed since she was a puppy in 2023 and my Aussie doodle since she was a puppy in 2024. Growing up I have always enjoyed the outdoors and animals, so dog walking was always fun for me and the dogs I walked. I am switching careers at the moment and looking for alternatives to the 9-5. I wake up early and can start walking by 6am, I can do walks up till 7pm. I will follow the rules of your house if I check in on your dogs. Most importantly, making sure I lock up and close any doors I enter to make sure your dogs are safely secured at home.
“Shannon was absolutely amazing with our 5 year old pitty. She was so thorough at our meet and greet over Quintley’s routine and needs. Shannon was there twice during the day at exactly the time we asked for. She kept me updated with messages and pictures. Her communication is fabulous. There was no question that our pup was in great hands. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again. The absolute best!!”

“Shirley helped us with our new puppy acclimating to a new home. She is thoughtful, consistent, compassionate and on time. We felt so lucky to have found her, and that it was she who was able to help us. She clearly loves and understands animals. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since the age of 12. Mostly focused on friends and neighbors but am ready to spread more joy and help. I’ve taken care of pups as young as a couple months and focused on their fine learning abilities through basic training. I’m a huge advocate of dog walks and training in basic skills. I’m currently a student so I do have a good available schedule. I am free weekends for boarding. On weekdays, I am usually free after 3pm. I have a big yard and no pets so no conflicts of that sort would occur. Indoors, I have a special room dedicated and catered to your pet’s needs. At your home, pets will be well taken care of along with your home.
“Bianca R took great care of our cats while we were away. She came at the same time each day and sent pictures of them to everyday. We enjoyed our vacation even more knowing that our cats were well-taken care of. Bianca was also pleasant to interview and felt she was a kind person. I highly recommend her.”

“Amanda was amazing with my two pups! She was super attentive and made sure they were taken care of. Gave me the ease of mind knowing they were loved while I was at work! Will definitely have her again! 😊”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Millburn
Barbara was amazing! This was our first time ever leaving our kittens, so we were pretty nervous, but she made the whole experience so easy. She was incredibly attentive, thorough, and responsive, and her updated and photos gave us so much peace of mind. We came back to two very happy kittens!

Bianca was amazing while my husband and I were away! She was so prompt and followed all our instructions perfectly. She also showed us so much love, care, and patience, especially with our three dachshunds—especially our little guy, who was a bit anxious and timid at first. Dachshunds, especially three, can be a bit of a challenge and can get a little chaotic, but she handled all three with such compassion. She even offered some alternative options when scheduling conflicts came up. Thanks again, Bianca! We’re already looking forward to booking with you again :)

Shannon provided cat sitting for my two cats over a period of a week via daily drop ins. She was detailed and thorough in her meet and great. Shannon was intentive to my cats needs, kept me updated throughout my travel, and made sure to exercise my cats the best one can. She easily navigated my automated cat feeders, kept the litter box clean, and made sure to tidy up any messes the cats may have made between visits. I'm sure the boys will miss their daily play time and tube treat sessions with Shannon! Will be sure to book again.

Tiara was so amazing with our two kitties. It was the first time we were leaving them for vacation and we had also just moved into a new house a few weeks ago. They have always been unsure of guests in the home and always hide so we were a little nervous leaving them with a stranger. Tiara made sure to check on them every day, that they had food, water and a clean box. She was able to give our girl cuddles and by the last day she was even able to pet our very scared boy which made him feel more comfortable. She also cleaned up the litter that they tracked outside the box and left a goodie bag of treats and other stuff for them. You can really tell she has a lot of experience with animals cares for them and wants them to feel comfortable when their family is gone. We will definitely be using her again next time we are away!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Millburn. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
