“Jennifer did so great with Reese for the week!!! She sent lots of pictures and I know he got plenty of outside time and playing in his pool which he loves! She did enrichment activities with him!! He can be extra energetic but she did so great with him!!”

“Teana was absolutely wonderful. Showed up when she said she would, sent lots of pics, and even won over our very shy dog! Will for certain trust her with our fur babies again!”

“Stokeley was AWESOME!! I have a senior pittie and 2 cats.., plus an outside stray~ he took care of EVERYONE so wonderfully!! He didn’t hesitate to ask questions if necessary and kept me posted on everyone’s day!! It’s difficult to leave your 4-legged babies but with Stokeley.., I felt great confidence and could truly enjoy my trip without worry!! Thank you Stokeley.., I will DEFINITELY book again AND, let my friends and family know of your great service!!!”

“Maria was great to work with. She took excellent care of my 3 cats and Cane Corso while we were away on a 5 day trip. We opted for her to stay at the house since our pets love having company and can get a little anxious when we are gone. She kept us updated with pictures and the status of everyone. Our home was also as we left it. Highly recommend.”

“We are so lucky that Anya was available to sit with Rudy. She sent photos and messages letting us know how he was doing throughout her stay. She is very caring and capable. We will book again when needed!”

About: My own senior dog is a rescue who has had special needs throughout her life, and caring for her has taught me so much about patience, compassion, and really paying attention to what an animal is communicating. I’ve learned to recognize their needs and boundaries and understand that every pet has their own personality and way of communicating. I’ve also pet-sat for friends and family over the years, and one of the best compliments I hear is, “Our pet seems to really love you!” I genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their people are away. I treat every pet as an individual and give them the patience, attention, and affection they need. I am available for pet sitting, drop-ins or walks around my work schedule - my shifts are between 6-8 hrs Mon-Fri, so your pet will never have to wait too long for me to get back for a walk, feeding, or play time :) Weekends are typically more open and flexible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Having cared for my own rescue dog with special needs for many years, I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and paying attention to an animal’s individual needs. I want every pet in my care to feel safe and comfortable. I’ll follow your instructions and routines, keep a close eye on your pet, and communicate with you so you know how things are going while you’re away.
“Paige did an amazing job watching our 3 big dogs! We were away for 4 days and never once were we worried about our pups! She settled right into their routine and sent us so many pictures of them. This was our first time using river and Paige and we will definitely be rebooking any time we need her!”

“Zana was wonderful with my Lulu and Solo (senior Yorkie and adolescent cat). She got them to warm up to her quickly and she kept them and my home in good order for an entire week. I appreciated the regular check-ins and photos during my time away. AND she was a real trooper despite a couple of unfortunate incidents in the neighborhood with some wanna be car thieves. I would highly recommend Zana!! She will love your fur babies as her own. And she’s very patient with a somewhat anxious pet owner.”

“Jasmine was able to housesit and take care of my dog and cat on relatively short notice and did a tremendous job! She asked all the relevant questions I hadn't necessarily thought about during the meet and greet and made sure I was fully aware of any of her other obligations during the stay and made sure my pets were completely taken care of. She sent lots of photos, videos, and updates which provided me solid peace of mind. She even brought up small things I hadn't thought about such as checking the mail and making sure the trash was taken out, and even took the time to feed some of the stray cats that like to come around to hang out and ask for food. I came home to two very happy and healthy animals and can't recommend Jasmine enough.”

About: I love all animals & don’t mind a little mess or snarl. In fact, I even helped my momma cat birth seven kittens a few years ago! I currently have a very open availability & I am flexible. If needed we can plan for anything early in the day, late night or anything in between if needed! Also, if you have any questions or concerns about pricing, I am open to negotiating and seeing what works best for both of us. I am super loving and think there is nothing more important than the best care and support for your pets. I can ensure you that I will be diligent and attentive to whatever needs your fur baby might need. I have had a pug for over 13 years and 4 cats and kittens for 5-6 I am confident I can make sure they are taken care of in the way you (and they) need while you’re away and I am happy to do so!
About: I specialize with big dogs and elderly dogs. I'm a taller guy with a longer walking stride so larger dogs can get more for workout. My schedule is daily throughout the whole day. I normally like to plan 24 hours in advance but if my schedule is open I don't mind same day or last minute. Tuesday -Thursday from 11am-3pm I am not available I currently have no pets right now at my home I do have a rather large backyard. At the parents home, I do make sure that the pets are well fed and hydrated before leaving unless otherwise told. Disclaimer: If there issues at the home during my time at your residence and not disclosed before booking such as but not limited to: proper running water, working AC/HEAT, controlled pest infestation, power outage, violent pet(s), unsanitary conditions, health concerns without proper insurance you will liable for the vet bill and transportation cost or all day 24 hour care with a pet(s) that can not be alone for 3-4 hours than will incur with an extra inconvenience charge of $100 or more and/or cancellation with the help of Rovers support team.
“Ariel was able to work through a few minor issues at the house on my behalf while on vacation (unrelated to the pet sitting). The house was clean and tidy when we arrived home and all animals seem to have been well cared for.”

“Heather and Jennifer were awesome! This was our first time leaving our dogs behind so we were a bit nervous, but we’re immediately reassured after the dogs met them prior to our departure. The house looked exactly as it did when we left, and they were even awesome enough to agree to feed our birds and bunnies as well!! Highly recommend these two!”

“This is our second time having Elliot stay with our Bear while we were away. He is a dog whisperer! Bear is huge, leans towards reactivity and Elliot handles all aspects of his care beautifully. I highly recommend Elliot. He makes being away from our big Bear worry free!”

“This was our first time using Rover, or any pet sitting service for our newly adopted rescue dog. We had to go out of town to attend a funeral very soon after adopting her. I was very nervous to leave her so soon. But Andrew made it much easier. He came to meet her, and was very professional. He asked questions about her schedule and what he needed to do for her. When I left, I left written instructions for him to keep her on as close of a routine as possible while we were gone. He followed our instructions and communicated with pictures to ease my mind. We came home to a happy and calm dog. I would 100% recommend Andrew if you are in need of a pet sitter. Thanks Andrew!”

“I can’t explain how GREAT MICHEAL IS ! Is there was 20 stars I would give it to him. Is the process I also receive the best fall pictures of the girl that Micheal took. If I was you. Book book book !!!”

About: **🐶 Caring, Responsible & Ready to Help** While I’ve spent most of my life caring for cats and have never had a dog of my own, I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and am excited to provide reliable and loving care for them. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’m attentive, patient, active, and happy to follow your dog's routine, whether that means walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or simply providing companionship and comfort. I love animals, enjoy spending time outdoors, and will make sure your dog feels safe, cared for, and loved while you're away **🏡 Flexible Schedule & Plenty of Attention** My weekly schedule varies, but it allows me to spend a significant amount of time at home. On some days, I’m home throughout the morning and don't leave for work until around 12:30 PM. On other days, I return home by 3:30 PM, which gives me plenty of time to care for and spend time with your pet. My husband also has a flexible self-managed schedule and is often home throughout the week. This means that your pet will rarely be left alone for long periods and will have plenty of companionship, attention, and care. When caring for pets in my home, I follow each owner's instructions carefully to make sure their pet stays comfortable and happy. I maintain feeding schedules, keep litter boxes clean, provide fresh water, and respect any special routines or preferences. I also make time for play, companionship, and affection, while paying close attention to each pet's personality and needs.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Middle River
We appreciated Annalee taking very good care of the fur babies!! It gave us such peace of mind and really allowed us to enjoy the time away. Annalee had great communication with us and left our home exactly how she found it while house/pet sitting for us for a week. Our dogs and cat absolutely adored her and took every opportunity to snuggle her. We knew that she cared for them as we would have which is all we could ask for!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Middle River walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Middle River maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Middle River choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
