About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I can remember. I have previously worked at a cat hospital so I am able to give medications to pets by request. I am a big animal lover, I have had almost every type of pet imaginable so I have a wide range of experience. I have taken care of dogs, cats, large and small birds, fish, ferrets, rabbits, and rats since I was little. I am a student so I have very open availability. I look forward to talking to you about your pet care needs I work part time usually pretty consistently. However it is not long hours except on some weekends. But I am still available to work almost daily I try my best to make it look like I haven’t been there. I love sending pictures of happy pets so every time I visit I will definitely send you tons of pictures. I prefer to meet in advance just to go over your pet(s) needs and see where food, treats, and toys are located before you are away.
About: **Are you located outside of the service area, but I seem like a good match? Please reach out anyway, I'd love to speak with you and could be open to traveling a little further in some circumstances! Hi! My name is Amanda. Thank you for your attention to my Rover profile. I've had pets most of my life! Our family includes a 140lb special needs mastiff (Perro de Presa Canario aka, Canary mastiff), a 12lb Cairn terrier, a 50lb Staffy/boxer mix, and last but not least: a 7lb Dutchie/New Zealand house bunny aka, "The Queen". I am comfortable getting my hands dirty. I have a hard time resisting getting down on the ground everytime I meet someone's dog. It might be my toxic trait. I'm comfortable with bathing and light grooming including: brushing, nail care, and dental care. My availability revolves around my own pets and their needs, of which there are many—medication, walks, grooming, enrichment, etc.. Essentially, my life revolves around ensuring that theirs is one that is as fulfilling, and a far cry from the situations from which they were rescued, as possible. We have a fenced yard on an acre plot. Our bunny is litterbox trained and lives along side us as the beautiful queen that she is. Some people may call us obsessive, but we just love our pets and want to be the best custodians possible.

About: I enjoy spending time caring for animals, especially dogs. I love going on walks, playing, and making sure pets feel happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away! I’m currently a college student at Indiana University Northwest, and with summer here I have a much more flexible schedule. While I do work a part time job, I’m still able to make multiple visits throughout the day to give your pup plenty of attention, care, walks, and playtime! I provide a safe and caring environment whether your dog stays in my home or I care for them in yours. I have a fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and dogs will always be leashed on walks. I’ll make sure your pup stays on their routine with fresh food and water, regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention!
“Nicole was amazing! She eased any worries we had and also updated us with pictures and videos while we were gone. She was very much in touch with any updates. We will definitely rebook her the next time we need someone to care for our pup and we’re so glad that we booked Nicole in the first place!”

I provide safe, reliable, and compassionate care, and I'll treat your pet like they're my own. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I work as a kennel attendant at a veterinary clinic and plan my schedule to provide reliable walks, drop-in visits, and attentive care before and after work, as well as on my days off. I follow each pet's normal routine to help them feel safe and comfortable. “Gaby was amazing! She did EVERYTHING we asked and sent so many cute pictures of our little kitties! It made our day every time she did this and we're going to ask for HER SPECIFICALLY next time we need to go out of town. Thanks so much Gaby!”

“Samantha was the greatest. She gave my cat space while also making sure that she can leave her sent with him. She gave great ideas to help me because this is my first time having a cat sitter. She is so receptive and she gives great advice. She connected with my cat wonderfully, and I truly appreciate what she had done with feeding him and connecting with him. I will use her again. She is definitely my go to and I would highly recommend her.”

“Sydney provided drop in visits at my home for 8 cats…yes 8 cats. She was professional and attentive to details. Sydney is kind and compassionate and will ask for her services in the future. If you are looking for someone to care for your animals that you can trust, contact Sydney…🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

About: I'm a special education teacher who has lots of experience taking care of others. My patience is very high and I have a high need to take care of things. I've owned a dog that I loved. Taking him for walks was one of my favorite things to do with him. Taking him out to do his business, no matter the weather, never bothered me. We would have fun going to parks where we would play fetch and where he could run around. I'm willing to stay at homes to take care of your pet if you feel more comfortable with that than your pet staying in my home. I have a lot of love to give and, if you'll let me, I would love for you to allow me to lavish your pet with that love.
About: I provide dependable dog walking and drop-in services focused on keeping your pets safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet’s care. I have two large dogs of my own, ages 7 and 9, so I’m very familiar with handling bigger breeds, different energy levels, and daily routines. Whether your pet needs a quick check-in, a potty break, or a longer walk to burn off energy, I’m committed to giving them the attention and care they deserve. I work full-time during the day M-F, but I’m available for dog walks and drop-in visits in the evenings and on weekends. I’m happy to help provide reliable care during those times to fit your schedule and your pet’s needs. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by sticking closely to their normal routines and home environment. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions carefully including feeding, fresh water, walks, litter box or yard clean up, and plenty of attention and playtime based on your pet’s personality. I always prioritize safety, cleanliness, and clear communication, so you can feel confident your pet is well cared for while you’re away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Merrillville with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
