About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
“Sandra did a great job with Charlie and cousin JoJo. She took them on a great walk. I worry about Charlie being home alone for so long so I'm very pleased that they get to get outside and get some exercise!”

“Carrie is awesome. When I sent her a message, she responded back super fast and is great about communicating when she can or cannot walk my dog. She is always punctual and has a wonderful personality. 😊”

IF PRICING IS TOO HIGH SHOOT ME A MEESSAGE WE CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT :) Typically my dog is my world so we go for many adventures and he goes everywhere with me and your pup could as well. If left alone, I do have a way to sepperate puppers. Typically we wake up, I feed them and take them for a walk.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs my entire life, which means caring for four-legged family members is second nature to me. As my family and friend’s resident dog sitter, I have hands on experience with pups of all shapes, sizes, and personalities from high energy giants to tiny couch potatoes. I am passionate about keeping dogs active and healthy, so you can count on me to provide plenty of outdoor time and engaging walks. I look forward to meeting your furry friend and providing them with a safe, fun, and loving environment while you're away! As a full-time remote worker, my schedule is highly flexible! Pet care fits seamlessly into my day, allowing me to offer reliable windows for walks and drop-ins. My 'portable' office also makes me a great fit for house sitting, as I can work right from your home and keep your pet company. Weekends are equally open and flexible for whatever your pet needs! I believe the best environment for a pet is one that closely mirrors their usual routine. Whether I am house sitting or dropping in, I strictly follow your specific guidelines for feeding and house rules. During house sittings and drop-ins, I respect your home as if it were my own—keeping things clean, secure, and locked up. When we are out on walks, your dog will always be kept on a secure, standard leash, and I maintain a strict 'no greeting' policy with unfamiliar dogs to prevent any unpredictable interactions. I am deeply observant of body language to ensure your pet is happy, comfortable, and never stressed. I also believe that communication builds trust, so you can always expect timely photo updates and detailed Rover cards after every visit!

About: Hi, I’m Annette! I’m a reliable, attentive dog sitter based in Incline Village with a flexible schedule and a calm, grounded approach to care. My goal is to ensure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well-attended to, whether through neighborhood walks, quality time at home, or overnight companionship. I focus on providing a peaceful and structured environment for the pets in my care. Because of this, I am a great fit for dogs who enjoy a relaxed pace and steady routine, though I may not be the best match for those requiring highly intensive outdoor exercise or off-leash adventure outings. Being based in Incline Village with a flexible consulting schedule means I can get to most local neighborhoods quickly for drop-ins or walks This allows me to be highly responsive to your pet’s needs, whether that’s a last-minute drop-in or staying at your home to keep your pet company during the day. Since I set my own hours, your pet’s routine becomes my priority. I believe pets are family members who deserve the same respect and care as any other resident. In a client’s home, my priority is maintaining the 'status quo' to minimize stress. I start by learning your pet’s specific cues, favorite hiding spots, and unique quirks. Whether it’s following a precise feeding ritual or ensuring the exact level of evening companionship they are used to, I treat your home and your pet with the utmost integrity. I am naturally observant and communicative, so you’ll receive regular updates and photos that capture your pet’s true comfort level.

About: I have owned a dog years ago. Miss having them around. I am only a dog aunt now. I am very active and love walks, runs, playing on the beach. I currently am not working and have more availability until August 19th. Starting then, I will be unavailable 7:30-3 Monday-Friday. I enjoy taking dogs for a walk in the morning and evening time. I live a pretty active lifestyle. I don’t mind taking your dog for a hike. I provide a safe, comfortable environment for pets, including a dedicated guest room where they can sleep. Air conditioning is available during warmer weather to ensure your pet's comfort. I also offer in home pet care and can travel to your residence if preferred. Pets in my care receive plenty of attention and exercise, including two daily walks, one in the morning and one in the evening. While I do not have a fenced yard, I am located less than 10 minutes from Kiva Beach and am happy to take dogs there for additional outdoor time and enrichment
About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, including puppies, seniors, and pets with special needs. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, medication, crate training, and keeping pets active, happy, and safe. I have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to adjust my day around the needs of the pets I’m caring for. Whether it’s early morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening visits, I’m able to make pet care a priority throughout the week. When pets stay in my home, I keep their routine as familiar as possible. I follow their feeding schedule, provide plenty of potty breaks, and make time for daily walks and play. I keep a clean, pet-safe space and offer lots of companionship throughout the day. I monitor behavior, offer enrichment activities, and ensure they have a comfortable place to rest. I also send regular photos and updates so owners know their pet is happy and relaxed.
About: With over 7 years of professional sitter experience, I’m the person you call when you have a very specific way that you like things done, and would really like to leave town without worrying about any of it😆 I genuinely love getting to know animals. I actually want the detailed instructions. My background is in private home management and personal concierge work, so looking after the house comes naturally to me too. If I’m staying in your home, I’m paying attention for mail and packages that may come in. Pet areas kept clean. Plants don't mysteriously die. Trash doesn't pile up. If something looks wrong, I notice it. I've cared for multiple-pet households, senior dogs, pets with special needs and homes during multi-month stays. I'm CPR/First Aid certified for cats and dogs, comfortable following medication routines, including oral and injected medications. I work remotely, which gives me an abundance of flexibility and means I actually do spend time with the animals I'm caring for😉 I work remotely, so I organize my schedule around the animals I'm caring for rather than trying to squeeze them into my day. Morning walk at 6:30? Fine. Medication with dinner? Can do. Your dog insists on conducting a complete neighborhood security inspection before bed? Why not? Because, apparently that's what we're doing! 🤷🏾♀️😆 I enjoy it and try to make it fun for your pet. I care for pets in their own home whenever possible and I follow your routines for meals, walks, medications, playtime, bedtime rituals, and all the little quirks that make your pet your pet. I’m also looking after the household while I’m there too. I keep things tidy, bring in packages, monitor the home, and make sure you return to happy pets and a cared-for space. I’m warm with animals and extremely self-sufficient. I'm also a good communicator. You're going to hear from me. You'll get photos, updates and anything important that comes up while you're away And if your dog happens to look suspiciously happy without you, I will gladly provide photo evidence. 😁

About: Compassionate and dependable animal caregiver with 5 years of hands on experience caring for four Goldendoodles and one Black Labrador. Skilled in providing daily care, including feeding, exercise, maintaining routines, and ensuring a safe, healthy environment. Experienced in managing multiple dogs at once, recognizing behavioral cues, and meeting each animal’s unique needs with patience and attention. Dedicated to promoting the well-being, comfort, and happiness of every pet while building trust with both animals and their owners. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I regularly go on runs, walks, hikes, paddle boarding trips, and swimming, and I would love to have a dog accompany me during those activities. Caring for pets would add structure and purpose to my day while also keeping me active and engaged. I also work full time as a medical assistant at Tahoe Forest Health System Monday through Thursday from 5:45 AM to 4:20 PM, so I really value making the most of my time outside of work. Having pet care responsibilities would be a great way for me to stay busy and active after my shifts or on my days off. Since I don’t have much family or many friends in the area, I genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals and would love to build a bond with your pets. Spending time with them would not only keep them happy and exercised, but also keep me motivated, fulfilled, and connected throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention, companionship, and supervision while in my care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they feel safe and well cared for in their own environment. When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. This experience has helped me stay confident and attentive when caring for other people’s pets, and I treat every animal like they are my own while they are in my care.
About: I have taken care of dogs, pretty much my whole life, and have experience with all sorts of dogs. From golden retrievers to dobermans, pit bulls, chihuahuas, and German shepherds, I have experience with all kinds of temperaments and dogs and am able to handle and care for all of them in the ways they need. I volunteer at the Nevada Humane Society and have completed a Fear Free Certification. I have trained all of the dogs I have taken care of and am very dedicated to making sure that they are well taken care of. When they are your best friend, they deserve the best. I will make sure that your dog gets plenty of love and care, and will be played with, and walked around to give them the socialization and exercise they need and want. I currently work full time, but have weekends off, and can sometimes do evenings, and love to spend my free time with pets. I fit pet care into my weekly routine by caring for a german shepherd weekly. I provide care for the pets by taking them on walks, and following any other normal care that the pet would typically require. I have 2 five year old german shepherds, as well as a 13 year old cat, so I am well equipped in dealing with multiple pets as well.
About: I have taken dog training classes at the local animal shelter. I offer puppies plenty of time for teething tug-of-war and have tons of patience with the geriatric slow walkers. I work part time, close to home, which offers plenty of time for dog walking, drop ins and over night care. My hours are flexible. I would keep your dog safe on a leash and have a large crate if that would help them feel secure in a different environment.

About: Hello! I’m a lifelong dog lover and artist currently spending some time in the beautiful Reno/Tahoe area for art research and inspiration. My heart belongs to animals. My beloved Yorkie was my sidekick for 15 wonderful years, and we spent countless days exploring the outdoors together. Because I’m currently traveling and focusing on my art, I have a flexible schedule and a lot of love to give to your fur babies while I'm in town! I treat every pet like family. Whether your dog loves high-energy outdoor adventures, a relaxing stroll, or just quiet cuddle time while I sketch, I happily match their energy and routine. 📸 Stay Connected: You can expect regular updates, photos, and videos so you always know your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for. My Skills & Services 🐕 Dog Walking & Outdoor Play: Ready to explore local trails or just stroll around the block. 💖 Endless Love & Attention: Lots of snuggles, positive reinforcement, and companionship. 🍲 Feeding & Meal Prep: Experienced with specific dietary instructions and schedules. 💊 Medication Support: Comfortable maintaining moderate medication schedules. 🐈 Cat Friendly: Meow spoken here, too! I're happy to hang out with your feline friends. Your pet will always be treated with the utmost kindness, patience, and the same deep love I gave my own dog for 15 years. I can't wait to meet them! I am a self-employed artist and director of a small nonprofit, which gives me an incredibly flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. Much of my work involves painting landscapes—capturing the beautiful mountains, lakes, and high-desert light of the Reno/Tahoe area. Because my art keeps me outdoors, I am always ready to take dogs along for fresh-air strolls, sniffing adventures, and outdoor playtime. When I am working from my laptop or sketching, pets in my care receive relaxed companionship, lots of attention, and plenty of snuggles. My flexible routine allows me to easily accommodate weekday or weekend care, house sitting, and extended stays. Your pet will seamlessly become a part of my creative, peaceful day! Since I am currently in the Reno/Tahoe area for art research, I'll mainly be focusing on House Sitting (in the client's home), Dog Walking, or Drop-In Visits rather than hosting pets at my residence (however, some exceptions can be made). Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my absolute priorities. Whether I am house-sitting in your home or visiting for walks, I treat your home with the utmost respect and your pet like family. Safety Outdoors: Because the Reno/Tahoe area has beautiful wildlife (like deer, coyotes, and bears), I keep all dogs securely on-leash during our walks unless we are in a designated, securely fenced dog park and you have explicitly approved off-leash time. I am also highly mindful of the pavement temperature and hydration during warm high-desert days. A Familiar, Relaxing Atmosphere: Inside your home, I strive to keep your pet’s environment calm, positive, and consistent. I love providing relaxed companionship—whether I'm sketching nearby or enjoying quiet cuddle time. Following Their Routine: I strictly follow your pet's established routine, including precise feeding schedules, favorite walking routes, and any necessary medication tracking. If your pet uses a crate, playpen, or has specific house rules, I will mirror them exactly. You can rest easy knowing your home is secure, and your fur baby is receiving dedicated, loving, and highly attentive care while you're away!

Aga was amazing with our high-energy Entlebucher Mountain Dog! She took him on a long walk in the woods with another dog in her care, and he came home happy and tired. Aga communicated with us wonderfully and even sent photos from their adventure—tails were wagging! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet care, and I’ll definitely be using her again in the future!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
