“Marcela was great, we left our dog with her for 3 nights. She always informed us at all times and sent us videos and pictures. She is always going to be my first choice whenever I need a dog sitter! She is knowledgeable about animals and truly cares about your pet. I know she is reliable and honest.”

“We only used family in the past to watch Milo, so we were a bit nervous. Cindy was by far excellent. She took good care of him, gave him love as if he was her own. We recommend her highly.”

“Maria was amazing! From day 1, she was attentive and had open communication with us about Stella and Hunters' progress. She facilitated a comfortable and fun environment, and we were pleased with the overall experience. I would highly recommend Maria and would work with her in the future”

“John was absolutely wonderful. This was his first time watching Jasper while we were away. John was so attentive to Jasper’s needs. He was so caring & loving with him. We felt so comfortable leaving our baby with him, as we knew he was in excellent hands & would be well cared for. He sent us daily updates & pictures which we really appreciated. We highly recommend John & look forward to using him again.”

“Tara S and her family are amazing ?. They took such good care of my Louie - including washing all of his bedding the day I came to get him. She has two good sized good natured dogs that kept him busy the entire time we were gone. I highly recommend her if you have a good natured medium sized dog they likes companionship & playtime. My Louie is about 90 lbs just so you have an idea of what I mean by good sized dog. We will absolutely use them again ?”

“We love Cynthia! She is kind and gentle! You can see that she has a love for animals. We were very comfortable with her and we felt safe to leave Paris with her. We will definitely Use Cynthia again!”

“Christine completely understands what it means to be a dog mommy! This was the first time I had to leave my Finley with anyone for an extended period of time and Christine was nothing but accommodating. She kept me constantly updated about Finley’s day and always added a photo to put my mind at ease. I would highly recommend Christine’s services to my friends and family.”

“Jeff is a very knowledgeable and responsible dog owner and sitter. Listened to my concerns about my high energy, not fully crate trained dog, and came through with flying colors.”

“Very glad I had the opportunity to have my dog watched by this family. Very friendly and welcoming. I received lots of updates and it shows they cared very much for my dog. Would not hesitate to use them again!”

“This was our first time ever boarding Cersi, and we couldn't have picked a better sitter. Jinay was great. She took excellent care of Cersi, providing everything a happy dog could want. Cersi had a great time during her stay with Jinay. I actually had not seen her that excited and lively in a long time. Jinay kept in constant communication, sending us periodic updates along with videos and pictures. We will definitely be booking with Jinay again anytime we need a sitter and recommend her highly to any per owner.”

“We are so grateful to have found Melissa as a nearby sitter for my moms little Maltese, Roxy. When my mom had an unexpected emergency hospital stay, Melissa was so flexible and understanding, taking the booking to watch Roxy at the very last minute. Roxy had a great “vacation” at Melissa’s - with lots of pictures and updates for us. I am grateful for Melissa’s kindness and I will certainly book with her again in the future. Added bonus is that she only takes small dogs which is perfect for miss Roxy!”

I have a small, older cockapoo named Riley and I’ve taken care of him since he was a puppy and I was in 8th grade - I actually had to pitch an entire care plan to let my mom allow me to have him! “Luna stayed with Antonia for the second time. She likes her a lot and her dog and cat. Will keep booking with Antonia when we need a caring, sweet and attentive sitter. I know Luna is in good hands when she goes to Antonia.”

“Our Frenchies, AnaLys and Armand enjoyed their initial boarding experience with Cassandra. They were well cared for and loved in a safe home. We received pictures and videos during their stay. They have an upcoming boarding experience with Cassandra.”

“Colleen is THE BEST! We left our baby, Tako with her for 15 days and we already had a good feeling after meeting her and visiting her impeccably clean and dog friendly home. We received the MOST wonderful pics every day of our boy playing with the other doggies, enjoying the back yard, the sun room (his favorite I think) and of course cuddling up to Colleen and her husband on the couch and bed. Things we LOVE about Colleen....only small/medium size dogs, great space for doggies to roam and find their favorite spot, great communication and MOST of all, her wonderful manner and love of dogs. We know that she cared for our Tako as if he were her own. Thank YOU Colleen, we will be back again and again and of course recommend you highly to anyone needing your service.”

“Leo had a great time with Lorena. Lorena has no problems giving him all his medication. He enjoyed his time with Lorena and got to sleep in her bedroom and take fun walks and dance to Spanish music. I received many pictures and videos during Leo’s time with Lorena.”

About: I have been around animals and pets my whole life. I love learning the best way to treat and handle my furry companions. My number one goal is keeping my furry companions safe, healthy and happy. My day starts and ends with caring for them in the best way possible. I make sure pets are being fed the best food possible and making sure they are comfortable in our home. I make sure that when I am caring for a pet, that they are comfortable with my presence and I never want to overwhelm them in their own environment or in my own. I like to stay in communication with pet owners and want others pets/babies to be as comfortable as they can within my home and presence

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Mastic
We booked Lorena for our senior dog Onnie somewhat last minute as our regular pet sitter had a medical emergency only a couple of weeks prior to a two week vacation. Lorena was lovely to chat with via the Rover app and was flexible with scheduling a meet and greet. Onnie needs extra care as she takes an oral medication, topical medication and wears dog-diapers. Lorena handled it all in stride. We were left at ease knowing the Onnie was receiving amazing care and lots of love. We loved receiving lots of pictures and video updates. Lorena’s house and large backyard are clean and pet friendly. Lorena will be our go-to sitter from now on. Do not hesitate to schedule with her:)

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
