“Vera watched our dog Norbert at our house while we were on a week and a half and was excellent. Good communication through it all and pictures we really appreciated. Highly recommend her services.”

“If you’re considering booking Gina, do not hesitate! She is an absolutely wonder of house sitter and had the upmost patience and understanding when it came to out new-to-us three year old bully mix, Bleu. Bleu is a three year old 45lb nervous Nelly and is still getting used to being in a safe space with people he can trust. Gina met with us twice before the formal sitting and was amazing with Bleu. She also sent regular updates without it being overkill. I will definitely be rebooking with Gina!”

“Lisa was absolutely amazing. Checked in regularly and sent pics with updates. Always asked about routines and for any tips to make my pup feel most comfortable while I was away. Will definitely book again!!”

“Nathan took amazing care of my dog and two cats! He sent picture updates everyday and kept my house so clean :) my pets were in the best hands and I can’t recommend him enough! Book w Nathan 🙏🏼”

“Jessa did an amazing job with our three high energy dogs of varying ages. We have a very anxious rescue that does not do well with other people but Jessa won her over! She kept them all busy and they all seemed exhausted at the end of the day. Jessa was a trooper and resourceful when she became sick. I had no concerns that they were all being taken care of and getting their multiple walks a day. She did a great job communicating and I would recommend her to anyone needing someone to watch their pets.”

“Morgan responded right away to our house sitting request! She sent pics of our fur babies, which I love! Did walks and playing. House was in order and clean when we arrived home. I would use Morgan again. Thank you Morgan!”

“Nick is truly the best! Nick is a great guy and so trustworthy. We left our yellow lab, Bodi with Nick for 5 days and came back to a spotless house and a well taken care of dog. Nick was thoughtful enough to give us daily updates on how things were going along with pictures. He is truly a natural with dogs and can tell how much he loves animals, our Bodi took to him right away. Definitely will be requesting Nick for future dog care and highly recommend him. Nick is a true gem who went above and beyond without being asked.”

“Cheyenne was great! This was our first time using Rover because we are always nervous with our husky being a flight risk. Happy to report that he was still there when we got home and all of our other animals were well taken care of! She was also very responsive to any messages I sent! Will book her again!! :)”

About: I’m always the person at a gathering who is drawn to animals! I will love them as my own. I’ve had my dog for seven years and have pet sat for various friends and family members because I’ve made bonds with their animals as well! I am a teacher so I am currently on summer break! My schedule is pretty flexible in the next few months so I should be able to make anything work 😊 I am a HUGE animal lover! I treat my own pets as my babies and I am super attentive to their needs. Being a teacher has me in tune with that! I would feel honored for you to trust me with your pet’s care because I would want someone to do the same to mine. My boyfriend is a vet tech so that makes us a pretty good combo of pet knowledge!
About: I’m a mom to 3 kiddos and 2 big fur babies. I work from home as an insurance agent and love snuggling and playing with my pups. I have always had an animal in my home and am very patient with animals. Prior to becoming an insurance agent I worked in direct care for 15+ years. I am compassionate and loving and truly care about all living creatures. I work from home, and have the flexibility to clock in and out as needed. I can be available anytime and work within your pups schedule. I have a fence in backyard and two loving babies who will keep your pup company. I can also keep my dogs in a separate area of the home and allow your dog to run freely if they don’t do as well with others. I am clean and considerate and will always love on your baby like I love on mine.
“Shelbie was so great with my shy kitty from the start - she warmed right up to her! She was super communicative and sent lots of updates during an overnight stay, including an incident of my cat throwing up + updates on how well she was eating afterward. I would recommend her to anyone!”

“With Julia, you never have to worry about your babies for a second while you’re away. Julia stayed in our home over two nights. She arrived on time and provided just the right amount of check-ins while we were away. We would use Julia again and highly recommend her to anyone else.”

“I'm afraid if we tell you how fantastic Lauren is, she won't be available the next time we need her to watch our boys. Seriously, if you want a dependable, reliable, thoughtful and really nice person to care for your pet & home, then look no further than Lauren. She really does have that "Magic Touch" with pets.”

“Maddie is just the best! She is now part of our family! She takes the best care of our 3 cats and loves them as if they were her own! She is always respectful of our home and our space. She communicates excellently and she is our go-to pet sitter!”

“Lashyia was a fantastic and reliable pet sitter who went above and beyond in watching my 3-month old puppy. She worked on training with her and left everything clean and tidy. I absolutely recommend her and plan to use her services again when I’m next out of town.”

“Chris has watched Sadie 2 times now, he has taken excellent care of our home and our very anxious old lady. He’s very enjoyable person to chat with as well and made us feel very comfortable entrusting him. 10/10 would recommend and will continue to use him exclusively if his schedule permits it.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mason
Adriana did a great job taking care of our 2 Fur babies while staying overnight at our house. (1 cat & 1 dog) They were happy when we returned and we could tell they had been well taken care of. Our instructions were followed and she even washed the linens and remade the bed in the guest room. We would definitely consider her for our future pet sitting needs.

Quick to respond to requests. She was able to win over my timid dog and cat! She had the misfortune of dealing with an upset tummy in my Great Dane and handled it perfectly. Daily updates with pictures and videos. I was able to fully enjoy my vacation knowing my pack was in great hands!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mason walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mason maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mason choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mason. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
