âIf youâre considering booking Gina, do not hesitate! She is an absolutely wonder of house sitter and had the upmost patience and understanding when it came to out new-to-us three year old bully mix, Bleu. Bleu is a three year old 45lb nervous Nelly and is still getting used to being in a safe space with people he can trust. Gina met with us twice before the formal sitting and was amazing with Bleu. She also sent regular updates without it being overkill. I will definitely be rebooking with Gina!â

âVera watched our dog Norbert at our house while we were on a week and a half and was excellent. Good communication through it all and pictures we really appreciated. Highly recommend her services.â

âTommi was professional and helpful. I have an older cat and Tommi checked up on his wellbeing and went beyond just cat sitting. Upon returning home my cats were healthy and happy.â

âMaddie is just the best! She is now part of our family! She takes the best care of our 3 cats and loves them as if they were her own! She is always respectful of our home and our space. She communicates excellently and she is our go-to pet sitter!â

âLisa was absolutely amazing. Checked in regularly and sent pics with updates. Always asked about routines and for any tips to make my pup feel most comfortable while I was away. Will definitely book again!!â

âJessa did an amazing job with our three high energy dogs of varying ages. We have a very anxious rescue that does not do well with other people but Jessa won her over! She kept them all busy and they all seemed exhausted at the end of the day. Jessa was a trooper and resourceful when she became sick. I had no concerns that they were all being taken care of and getting their multiple walks a day. She did a great job communicating and I would recommend her to anyone needing someone to watch their pets.â

About: Iâm always the person at a gathering who is drawn to animals! I will love them as my own. Iâve had my dog for seven years and have pet sat for various friends and family members because Iâve made bonds with their animals as well! I am a teacher so I am currently on summer break! My schedule is pretty flexible in the next few months so I should be able to make anything work đ I am a HUGE animal lover! I treat my own pets as my babies and I am super attentive to their needs. Being a teacher has me in tune with that! I would feel honored for you to trust me with your petâs care because I would want someone to do the same to mine. My boyfriend is a vet tech so that makes us a pretty good combo of pet knowledge!
âNick is truly the best! Nick is a great guy and so trustworthy. We left our yellow lab, Bodi with Nick for 5 days and came back to a spotless house and a well taken care of dog. Nick was thoughtful enough to give us daily updates on how things were going along with pictures. He is truly a natural with dogs and can tell how much he loves animals, our Bodi took to him right away. Definitely will be requesting Nick for future dog care and highly recommend him. Nick is a true gem who went above and beyond without being asked.â

âI'm afraid if we tell you how fantastic Lauren is, she won't be available the next time we need her to watch our boys. Seriously, if you want a dependable, reliable, thoughtful and really nice person to care for your pet & home, then look no further than Lauren. She really does have that "Magic Touch" with pets.â

About: Hi! Iâm Mariah, a lifelong animal lover and proud pet parent to a big, goofy dog and two sweet cats. While Iâm new to professional pet care, Iâve spent years caring for my own animals and know firsthand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family. I offer drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sittingâand I bring a calm, playful, and structured approach to every visit. Whether itâs a quick check-in, a good walk, or keeping your pets company while youâre away, I treat every animal like one of my own: with love, patience, and attention to their unique needs. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your pets in someone elseâs care, and I donât take that responsibility lightly. My goal is to give you peace of mindâand your pets a new friend they can feel safe and happy with. I currently am a Preschool Teacher so I work Monday-Friday 8am-4:30. So Iâm available on weekends. Summers Iâm off so I will adjust my days and times when summer draws nearer. Whether Iâm visiting your home for a walk, drop-in, or overnight stay, I do everything I can to keep your petâs routine consistent and stress-free. I follow your instructions closelyâmealtimes, meds, playtime, litter boxes, the worksâand always give your pet the attention, affection, and patience they deserve. For dogs, I bring a calm, structured energy to walks and make sure they get both exercise and fun. For cats, I understand that comfort and familiarity are everythingâI move at their pace and respect their boundaries while still making time for play or snuggles if theyâre into it. Every visit is about making your pet feel safe, seen, and lovedâjust like they would with you
âShelbie was so great with my shy kitty from the start - she warmed right up to her! She was super communicative and sent lots of updates during an overnight stay, including an incident of my cat throwing up + updates on how well she was eating afterward. I would recommend her to anyone!â

About: Iâm a mom to 3 kiddos and 2 big fur babies. I work from home as an insurance agent and love snuggling and playing with my pups. I have always had an animal in my home and am very patient with animals. Prior to becoming an insurance agent I worked in direct care for 15+ years. I am compassionate and loving and truly care about all living creatures. I work from home, and have the flexibility to clock in and out as needed. I can be available anytime and work within your pups schedule. I have a fence in backyard and two loving babies who will keep your pup company. I can also keep my dogs in a separate area of the home and allow your dog to run freely if they donât do as well with others. I am clean and considerate and will always love on your baby like I love on mine.
âIsabella was very sweet, responsive, and great with my dog and cat. She house sat for two nights and everything went great. We were happy with her services and will book her again!â

About: Ever since I was a child I've been taking care of both cats and dogs. I can take care of your friends in any condition! I also specialize in command training alongside discipline in puppies!! I currently work part time at Meijer in the grocery department. My schedule consists of working Friday-Monday or Thursdays-Monday. I work the morning shift for the store which is 4am-12pm. Which will give me the rest of the day to play and care for your furry family members!! If you have more than one furry friend and can easily separate them if needed and make sure they are both calm with each other if they are in the same area watched very carefully. If they need to be crated I can do that too. I will make sure to my fullest ability for your pet to be safe around each other and me during the process.
About: Iâve been caring for animals since I was a child in 4H. Iâve had all sorts of pets, from cats and dogs, to hamsters and horses. I have experience with anything from neonatal kittens to senior pets. Iâm a major empath and have a soft spot for all animals and creatures. I promise to care for your animals as if they were my own, with compassion and common sense. Iâm looking forward to caring for your fur babies âşď¸ I actually just moved to the area fairly recently from New Jersey, and I work from home so this would be an ideal way to fill my spare time. âşď¸ I come equipped with experience with all kinds of pets, along with common sense and basic compassion for animals. I treat my pets like my children, and I would treat yours with those same standards.
âSecond time having Ellen watch our dog and everything was great. She sent pictures and kept us updated while we were away. We felt very comfortable having her watch our dog and would recommend her!â

FAQs for House Sitting - Aurelius
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 540 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Aurelius. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aurelius walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aurelius maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aurelius choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Aurelius. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
