“Stephanie was incredible. She did a great job with drop-in visits to care for our two cats, Cleo & Bubba. She is very knowledgeable about and clearly loves cats. We are so appreciative that Stephanie went above and beyond by skillfully dealing with our significant ant invasion while we were gone.”

About: I have been petsitting since I was 12. I have experience with taking care of dogs of all ages and energy levels. I have had the pleasure to gain these experiences from my own previous pets and offers of my friends and family members. While I currently don’t own any pets in my own home, I am looking to expand my love for animals services to my community! I would love to use my extra time in my weeks to help other’s in their busy schedules. My love for animals is unconditional and I love getting to know each animal for who they are and what they enjoy. I have also had past experiences with cats and bunnies and I am comfortable with getting more experience with them! I am currently work part-time and tend to have a lot of free-time. I have reliable transportation and I am an active person so I enjoy walking and adding a furry walking buddy is even better! I like to follow other’s house rules and I like to keep everything clean and organized. My goal is earn trust with clients and their furry loved ones!
About: I offer calm, personalized care in a quiet home where your dog is treated like family, not one of many in a busy boarding facility or a home with multiple dogs. I typically host one household at a time, so your dog gets my full attention, genuine affection, and all the cuddles they can handle. My home is the right fit for friendly dogs who love companionship, walks, and settling into a peaceful routine. I'm especially drawn to dogs who thrive with one-on-one attention rather than the noise and energy of a busy multi-dog environment. I'm certified in Pet CPR, Healing Touch for Animals, and Reiki. And beyond the credentials, I'm deeply attuned to each dog's personality and energy. That attunement is what helps them settle in quickly and feel genuinely at ease. My connection to animals runs deep. I spent five years volunteering at Lindsay Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, working in both the mammal department and wildlife hospital with injured and recovering animals. That experience sharpened my understanding of animal behavior and reinforced something I already believed: animals feel safety before they understand it. My goal is always to create that feeling from the moment your dog arrives! Because I work from home, pets in my care are rarely left alone for long periods and receive plenty of attention, walks, and companionship throughout the day. When pets stay in my home, they become part of a calm and comfortable daily routine. I primarily host dogs from 1 household at a time so each pet receives plenty of individual attention. Dogs here enjoy daily walks, playtime, and relaxed downtime, and I’m home much of the day since I work from home. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality and needs so they feel safe and settled. For drop-in visits or walks in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, fresh water, walks, litter care for cats, playtime, and companionship. I’m happy to send photo updates so owners know their pets are doing well.
About: Previously owned and trained our family dog until his passing some years ago. I have birds, fish, and have been caring for family friends' dogs. I am currently willing to help, care, and walk your dogs. A great way to fill in the time as I stay home, go to school, and improve life as to looking forward to care for your dog. My dog was fed a mix of wet and dry food, water bowl always full, and daily drive/park/play/walks/hikes (regarding the weather at the current moment of time).
“Nancy is really awesome. She has watched my dogs twice and the second time was a more urgent matter and she was able to help me out :’) she updates if they are, poop or pee which is helpful to know! Nancy is the best!”

“Tamiko was wonderful this past wknd with my 2 furry guys!! She did 2 drop-in visits on both days and was great communicating with me about my two young cats, checking in and out, sending pics, playing with especially my youngest, etc. I am glad I found Tamiko, as she also lives very close by -- super convenient!! Thank you Tamiko 😻”

“He's been so consistent and patient with Athena! She's learned not only to trust him, but quickly obey his commands. Athena has welcomed Mike as part of her pack, in charge of belly rubs!”

About: I have loved animals since I first learned what an animal was and 27 years into life I haven't stopped! I have 7+ years of dog/cat/house sitting experience and I can administer medications if needed, along with taking care of other typical pet sitting tasks such as feeding, walking, playing, bathing, and of course, offering lots of affection and pets! Currently I’m in school (mostly online) for pre vet-med and working just as a pet sitter so I have plenty of free time to watch over your fur babies! :) I am always willing to personalize my services to best conform to your pets' medical, physical, and emotional well-being, just let me know what specific needs your pet(s) have and I will cater to them!

About: Hello! I have helped care for animals for as long as I can remember. I’ve worked as a dog walker and pet sitter for different companies. Recently, I lost my 13 year old girl, Nyla. Currently, I am finishing up online school to be a secondary mathematics teacher, so I’m home all day. It’s a true joy to be around animals. I’m great at following instructions as well. I’m currently finishing up online school, so I’m home all day. I recently lost my 13 year old girl, and my world revolved around caring for her. It would be an honor to assist you in care for your fur babies. I live in a larger home with a fully fenced yard. I understand every pet parent has different requests and expectations. I will fully follow the directives given to best support the pet and pet family.
About: I have been around dogs and cats my entire life as I have a strong passion for them. I have taken care of cats and dogs since the day they were born. We have fostered many neonatals and raised them until we greatly send them off to their forever home. We have many years of experience how to take care and make a fun, loving, and playful experience. Our pets help us very much with making other pets feel very much at home. Since we’ve been fostering for a very long time, we love to open our doors to any pets while we are not fostering. I am currently a stay at home mom who fosters animals when they are in need of fostering. As well as taking care of my child. I have a wall in my backyard to secure the animals as I have keep a watch on them. I’ve also had experience with very sick animals and also have first aid and fluids (IV) for them just in case anyone is not feeling well.
“I have so much to say about Sabrina! She is so good with our shy greyhound, that he actually seems to like her better than us sometimes! Sabrina is extremely reliable..always on time...she also is very communicative during her time at our home, and lets us know if anything is amiss, and if there is anything she can do to help. She also will bring in packages from our doorstep. MORE THAN ANYTHING, though, is her kind and patient and loving manner with our dog...she truly is a gem, and we are so lucky we found her! Brian, Danna, and Punch the Greyhound”

About: I love caring for dogs. Short or long walks, playing at the park or in their yard. When they are happy it makes me happy. Feeding time or treats always on owners timeline! I am currently not working so available to be with your pet all day! Feedings, walks, whatever is needed they will feel safe and happy. I like to care for pets in their own home where they feel most comfortable. I will be able to keep them on their daily schedules where they feel safe.
About: I have over 4 years of professional experience working with animals, including 2½ years at a dog boarding and daycare facility where I cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. This includes hands-on experience with both energetic puppies and senior dogs requiring extra patience, gentle care, and attention to comfort and mobility needs. My experience includes walking, feeding, bathing, nail trimming, teeth brushing, medication administration, and monitoring group play to ensure every pet stays safe and happy. I am also certified in pet first aid and CPR, so you can feel confident your pet is in capable, prepared hands. I have experience administering medications and following detailed care instructions for pets with special needs, including seniors and dogs requiring consistent routines. I’ve grown up around dogs and have a lifelong love for animals and I currently have two cats of my own. I’m also familiar with multi-pet households, as my mom has a 5-year-old terrier mix, brother has reptiles and I’ve provided pet sitting for family and friends over the years who have multiple pets. I’m currently in college working toward veterinary school, so caring for animals isn’t just a job—it’s my passion and future career. I genuinely enjoy working with pets at every life stage, from playful puppies to senior companions, and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I work full time and am also a part-time college student, but I am very flexible with scheduling, especially in the evenings. My work schedule is provided one week in advance, which allows me to plan ahead and accommodate bookings as needed. I also typically have 2–3 full days off each week, which I can dedicate to providing full-day care and attention for pets. I am happy to adjust my availability to fit your pet’s routine whenever possible. I also offer overnight stays, ensuring your pets receive consistent care, including morning feedings, walks, and attention so they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I offer overnight stays in my home; however, I do require a meet and greet with my dog beforehand to ensure both dogs are comfortable and get along well. I also provide overnight stays in your home so your pet can remain in their familiar environment, which helps reduce stress and maintain their normal routine. This is often the best option for pets who feel most secure in their own space. I have experience with transporting pets safely when needed, as well as crate training and crating routines. I am very attentive to maintaining each pet’s daily schedule, including feeding times, walks, medication administration, and bedtime routines to ensure consistency and comfort while you’re away. You can trust that I will treat your home and your pet with the utmost respect, care, and responsibility at all times.
About: I have loved animals my entire life and always went out of my way to interact with them whenever I could. At the age of 14, my family decided to adopt a cat. We rescued her from the SFSPCA and I was the one in charge of her car. We later adopted two more cats from the SFSPCA over the next two years. I also grew up with Akitas, a Pittbull/Labrador Retriever mix, fish, and hamsters. As a young adult, I adopted and trained a Blue Heeler/Pitbull mix from 9-weeks-old. I also fostered a variety of animals from 2010-2012, from dogs and cats, to hamsters and exotics (including a hedgehog, rabbits, ferrets, and chinchillas). Today I am a single mom with two amazing older children. Our household is still full of animal love! We are owned by an adopted, blind Pekingese/Tibetan Spaniel mix, two rescued cats, two rescued tortoises, two betta fish, two African dwarf frogs, a Pixie frog, two scorpions, two vinegaroons, and a Gargoyle Gecko. I currently work evenings only. This leaves my days free to care for my own family’s animals companions and for the animal companions of others! ❤️ I believe in treating anyone’s animals not only with the same respect and care I would want for my own, but also the love and care I offer to my own animal companions. I have animals with a variety of needs and am used to being flexible and meeting animals where they are. ❤️
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Maltby
Tia was gentle and calm with my Whippet puppy, and he was happy to stay home with her. This was his first time being home without me, and I was very glad that Tia was able to make it an easy and comfortable experience for him. I highly recommend Tia and am grateful for her caring close attention to my young puppy.

Jessica took great care of our two cats for 6 days, sending us updates on how they were doing each day. Both cats were happy and chill when we got home from our trip. She also watered the plants, swept the floor and let us know if we got any packages. We highly recommend Jessica!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
