It was a last Minute trip. She was able to watch my German Shepard that same day I messaged her ! She was very caring and knowledgeable about dogs . My 1 1/2 year old German Shepard went right up to her with out any problems, he instantly felt the love ! Thankyou again Marry”

“Samantha took great care of our guys Mouse and Henry. She even took our furry friends in for (a lot) longer than we originally planned due to an emergency on our part. This was amazingly helpful as we were in fort Lauderdale trying to finish a move! Knowing they were with her helped us not be stressed about their welfare. Thanks Samantha. We really appreciated it. Michael and Paula”

“Desiree came through on a last minute request for us. She boarded our puppy for 4 nights and was very responsive with communication and pictures throughout. When we picked our pup up she had timed his bathroom break just right and included a chew bone and dental greenie. Overall we were very happy with her services.”

“Allison was an excellent communicator while coordinating our pup's day care and was absolutely flexible to help us with our out-of-towner schedule, and was wonderfully attentive to our pup during his stay. About: With a lifelong background in dog care — starting with my dad raising dogs and me helping care for 17 growing up — I’ve always had a special connection with animals. I now have three dogs of my own and bring that same love, patience, and experience to every pet I look after I’m currently working part-time and looking to spend more of my days doing something I love — caring for dogs! Since my schedule is very flexible, I can easily adjust my work hours and make time whenever your pets need me. Spending time with dogs truly brightens my day, so fitting pet care into my routine is something I enjoy, not just a job. my home, I have a fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely play and enjoy the outdoors. I also have three friendly, well-behaved dogs who love meeting new friends! If a quieter environment is needed, I can easily crate my dogs to make sure every pet feels comfortable and secure. I always focus on giving each dog the attention, playtime, and care they deserve.
“Our dog had an amazing time! She didn’t want to leave😂 Eman sent lots of pictures throughout the day which was really nice! She is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about dogs. Will definitely book again!”

“I cannot recommend Marissa highly enough! She went above and beyond to care for my dog, Reagan, showing a level of attentiveness and compassion that truly sets her apart. What impressed me most was her thoughtful approach to my dog’s unique needs, keeping her separated from the other pets in her home, creating a calm and safe environment which made all the difference in my pet’s stay. She also provided multiple long walks each day, ensuring plenty of exercise and stimulation. It’s rare to find someone who treats your pet like their own, but that’s exactly what Marissa did. My dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. If you’re looking for someone who combines professionalism with genuine love for animals, look no further. Marissa is a gem!”

About: Welcome to my page! My name is Tracy and I would love to take care of your pet. I grew up taking care of my pets, both cats and dogs, and I currently have a goldendoodle that I absolutely adore! I have also been entrusted to take care of my friend’s pets while they were away. From my experience, I know that no pet is the same. I get to know your pet and learn to care for them in a way that is unique and special to them! I currently work full-time during the week, but am available for boarding on the weekends and most holidays. I am also available evenings and weekends if your pet needs to have a potty break or go on a walk! For visits in your home, I prefer to meet prior to my initial visit to go over instructions and expectations and to have a meet and greet with your pet. For boarding in my home, your pet will be able to have full access to the house or they can be crated if that is what is preferred. I live in a great neighborhood for walking and I also have a screened in porch that is great for napping!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
