“Valeria is amazing. She has excellent communication, sends tons of photos and updates, and always makes us feel completely at ease knowing our dog is in great hands. She also took wonderful care of our home while we were away. We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely use her again!”

“Anastasiia was a great house sitter for our kitties and home. Everyone was well taken care of, including the gardens during the summer heat. We were so appreciative of her care, and her easy, and efficient communication!”

“Bryant was excellent with my senior dog. He was incredibly experienced in terms of my dog’s specific needs, including diaper changes and being mindful of her dementia traits. He was also very communicative and offered multiple updates throughout the day.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Madie was wonderful. She took such wonderful care of our dog and kitty. The daily updates were timely, very detailed and had pictures. And she took such great care of our house as well. Can't thank her enough.”

“Savannah is great- reliable, communicative, and friendly. While gone for the weekend she made sure to not only check on my two cats, but love on them and play with them too. My favorite part was the update pictures she would send, as well as feedback on how my cats were doing (eating, energy, litter activity, etc.) and having the veterinary background that Savannah does, my babies were in great hands. Consider Savannah for your booking and you won’t be disappointed!”

“Trena was amazing! She is great at sending pictures and keeping us updated. Our house looked like she had never even been here when she left. It was so nice not having to worry at all about our dog while we were on a trip. Thanks so much Trena!”

“Kona had as great of a vacation as we did! We felt guilty leaving our new rescue, but Keeley made everyday fun and exciting for our high energy pup - long walks and lots of attention...and even a pup cup for our spoiled girl. Keeley sent great pictures. Aside from dog care, we had her take care of our cats, plants, mail and house. Everything looked great. Highly recommended!”

“Britney was wonderful! Very responsive and communicated (with the best photos!) throughout the time she house-sat for us. She was professional, tidy and the pups enjoyed the time with her. We're thrilled with Britney and can't wait to have her sit for us again soon!”

“We are very fortunate to have found Jenna and Tula. From our very first meeting, she made us feel completely comfortable leaving our dogs in her care and the pups all got along great. During the stay, Jenna was always in touch, sending daily updates and pictures. It was clear that they were having a great time enjoying her and Tula's company, and we could see how much attention and love they were receiving. We returned home to happy, well-cared-for dogs, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Jenna truly goes above and beyond and we will definitely be reaching out the next time we need help with our fur babies.”

“Landry was awesome and took excellent care of our pups during our house-sitting booking. One of our pups has some special needs (requires oral medication) and she followed all the directions for care perfectly. 10/10 would book again!!”

“Emma is amazing. She is super conscientious- very communicative, honest, reliable. She immediately bonded with our big St. Bernard and took great care of him. We returned after a long trip with our sweet doggo looking healthy, happy and relaxed. She sent tons of pictures of our boy. She took great care of our house including trouble shooting moving cars for street plowing. Highly recommend having Emma care for pets, houses, or honestly anything. Would book her again in a heartbeat.”

“Frenchie stayed with our two pups for a week. She was fantastic. Very responsive with her communication and attentive to our dogs. We'll definitely use her again!”

“Emily was absolutely perfect with my boys. When i returned home the house was clean and dogs were very happy! She sent me pictures of the boys every day and i loved that. I would highly recommend Emily 👍🏻”

About: I have experience pet sitting for dogs, especially caring for a reactive one for a couple of years. I understand how to work with fearful dogs and will care for them regardless. I can walk, feed, and even give medication as needed. I have a deep passion for animals, especially dogs, and I would love to be able to care for yours! I have also worked alongside veterinarians to gain experience in animal handling. I love all dogs, big and small, and I know I could provide great care for your pup! I’m currently a student at Montana State, but all of my classes end at two. I’m available on the weekends for overnights and day pet sitting. I will care for your pets like my own, but I also understand that many pets have different boundaries. I will always respect their boundaries and make sure that your animals are comfortable and happy in their own spaces. Whether that means crates, time spend apart, or time spent together, I will make sure that your pets still feel like they are home.
“Naomi was wonderful! She communicated well, was reliable, sent photos and even offered to come back if our flight was delayed due to bad weather. We’ll definitely hire her again!!”

“Vanessa did a great job taking care of my dog Oscar for four days. She kept me updated with pictures and reports on how Oscar was doing while I was gone. Oscar was obviously happy with the time he spent with Vanessa as he was calm and well adjusted when I got back. Vanessa has a background in Vet care, so I think that is helpful too. I would highly recommend Vanessa to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Tressa is a great dog sitter! My dogs love her and she is very kind and gentle with them, and does a good job handling my more rambunctious dog. She sends great regular updates and I can tell she is spending quality time with them.”

Savannah is great- reliable, communicative, and friendly. While gone for the weekend she made sure to not only check on my two cats, but love on them and play with them too. Brianna was a life saver with a last minute very needed help to look after my goofy golden. She was able to meet up and reassure me that Chester was in good hands. The best kind of sitters are where they are able to handle just about anything without too many questions so you are able to just relax and focus on other things! Brianna is super confident in what she does

Frenchie has sat a few times for us and always does a great job. We were running a little late leaving so we’re still home when she arrived. Both of our dogs ran to her and were so excited to see her so it’s obvious they have bonded well as they are normally reserved with people they aren’t fond of.

John was an excellent sitter for our two dogs (a 4-month-old puppy and a 3-year-old) during a 4-night in-home stay. He met with us before our trip to go over their routines and make sure he understood everything. Throughout our time away, he sent frequent updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear he spent plenty of quality time with them, especially outdoors, and they were happy and well cared for when we got home. He also left our house spotless. We would absolutely recommend John to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter and would be happy to book with him again.

Emma was wonderful. She came ahead of time to meet our pets and was a wonderful house guest. She communicated well with photos and details, asking questions whenever needed. We felt such relief in knowing our fur babies and home were in good hands. We would highly recommend Emma!

George has watched our girls a couple times now, and I can honestly say that when they’re with her, I know I don’t have to worry about them AT ALL. She loves them like they’re her own, and they love spending time with her too. George is always my first go-to if we’re traveling anywhere.

Katy is such a great sitter, I cannot recommend her enough! We have an intimidating older dog that can be difficult with new people, it is such a relief having a sitter that does well with her so that we can truly relax when we go out of town. Katy always sends pictures and updates so that I'm not left guessing about anything. Hoping she never stops pet sitting so that we can use her for as long as we have dogs!
Ellie was great! She was very communicative, providing regular updates, and took great care of Toby. We had a unique situation come up where we thought we would need to send Toby to the vet while we were away. Fortunately, we did not end up needing to, but Ellie was very flexible and understanding with our concerns while we tried to sort things out, making the whole situation very painless. We came home to a happy, healthy dog. I’d recommend Ellie to anyone!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lux on Rover is $45.51 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 417 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lux. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lux walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lux maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lux choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lux. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
