“We hired Wade to sit our mini poodle during my wedding all day at our house. He was very punctual, friendly, respectful of our place, and took really good care of our dog with the instructions we had left him. Highly recommend his services and will definitely book Wade again in the future if needed.”

“Rebecca is the best! She knew we were worried about leaving our dog and sent pictures the entire time we were away. She genuinely cares about the pets she watches over. Duke was calm, happy and well cared for, even with a thunderstorm and a power outage. Would definitely recommend Rebecca to anyone needing a pet sitter.”

“Sarah stayed with our dog Molly for 2 days and nights. She did an awesome job! We could see from all the pictures and updates that Molly was well cared for. Would highly recommend Sarah!”

“Liz was absolutely amazing. This was the first time I’ve ever left either of my dogs with someone outside of our family so I was super nervous(and my one dog is 14). Liz came over for an interview and immediately made me feel comfortable and I knew she was the right choice. We were gone two nights and in those two nights she sent me constant videos and pictures of both dogs. I could tell they were loving her which made me love her even more. She left the house so clean, I couldn’t even tell she was here. We will absolutely be having her come to stay on our next trip again and I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for a sitter. She proved to not only be trust worthy with our home but with our fur babies too. Thank you Liz for everything you did 🐾🐶”

About: I’ve lived with and helped care for dogs since I can remember, and cats for the past decade now. I truly believe that our pets are a part of our family, and will bring that approach and belief with me into your homes. In the past 10 years I have helped raise 4 dogs and 4 cats, as well as caring for an elderly dog requiring special care. I hold a passion for animal safety and care, and believe that will show in my work. In our household I am an active participant in pet care. Typically I am involved in feeding both cats and dogs, taking dogs outside as needed, helping clean litter boxes as needed, etc; most often on a daily basis. In addition to the typical pet care information already provided, I take great care in providing a safe and fun environment for our pets. That includes playing with both the dogs and cats, taking our dogs on walks, etc. Overtime, our household has gotten to where we are now with 3 dogs and 4 cats total. I’ve come to learn and appreciate all of their individual quirks and personalities, and that only helps me care for them better. I look forward to meeting and getting to know your pets as well!
About: I’ve had pets my whole life. At least two dogs for as long as I can remember, but currently (and for quite some time) I have four dogs and two cats. I’ve helped train my pets from puppies and cared for them as senior so I have experience in every aspect of dogs’ and cats’ lives. Ive cared for a coworker’s pets in the past and I’ve worked with horses since I was 8. Animals are my life My weekdays are open, especially once I finish school in mid May. My weekends won’t be free for some time, unfortunately. I’m happy to sit at your home with your pets if wanted, especially during the summer, and I love to take them for walks (I know many good trails) and play with them I wouldn’t want to take pets to my home as it is very full of other animals and I wouldn’t want to overwhelm mine or your pets, however I am happy to care for your pets at your home and I will do whatever needed to make your pets comfortable, especially around a new person
“I cannot speak highly enough of Hailee. This was her first time dog sitting for us, and every single thing that could have gone wrong in our house did. Our water heater broke right before she arrived and started flooding the finished basement, the plumber that fixed the water heater accidentally left the gas off so there was no heat for 24 hours, and there was a fire down the street that caused them to turn off the power to our grid. And yet, Hailee made it all a breeze. Between coordinating with our plumber, keeping the dogs calm with the commotion in the house, and keeping us in the loop. We came home to a clean house and happy & tired dogs. You would have never known that it was a crazy week. Highly recommend if you want peace of mind & will be rebooking!”

About: Hi! I'm a dedicated dog lover based in the Lehigh Valley area. I've had my own dog for the past 6 years, and one of my favorite things to do is get outside and go on walks with him. Caring for dogs has always been a part of my life, and I've helped family, friends, and neighbors with feeding, walking, and caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I understand that every dog has different needs, whether they're energetic and love long walks or prefer a slower, more relaxed pace. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and happy while in my care. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always prioritize their well-being. You can count on me to be reliable, attentive, and communicative. I'll make sure your pup gets the exercise, attention, and care they deserve, and I'll keep you updated along the way. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I’m a recent college graduate and currently looking for work. In the mean time I feel like this is the perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy the time off while i search for a career! The safety of the dog is my number one priority whenever I walk or play with dogs. If a dog needs to be kept away from other dogs or humans, I am always attentive toward my surroundings making sure that is followed. A dog’s routine is always important and I can make sure that it is kept up while I am entrusted with their care.
“Laura was so helpful with our 15 year old pup, who can be a little quirky. She handled his evening medications perfectly and made us feel completely at ease. We’re so grateful to know he was in such good hands, thank you!”

“Wow! Lisa was amazing! She was punctual, attentive but most of all loving to Bruce! I would recommend her services to anyone! Her love for dogs went above and beyond this booking! 5+ stars for me! Thank you Lisa for the peace of mind!”

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats all my life! I also currently work at a pet store and therefore have a knowledge base of troubleshooting with animals. While I am out of the house for work, I can change my availability based on your needs! I work close to home so I can let dogs out during the day if needed! I have a fenced-in yard and a dog and cat friendly environment. I have a child and two cats in home, so pets must be kid and cat friendly.
“Bethany is hands down your go to person for the best dog care. She went above and beyond to help our senior frenchie . She kept us up to date on everything and cared for Layla like she was one of her own. Thank you!”

“I felt so fortunate to have Wayne look after my dog, Laney at my rather remote Airbnb, while I attended to a wedding. We had a meet and greet days before and Laney gave him an amazing greeting. Dogs are such a great judge of character. He sent me photos and updates and I knew my dog was in good hands. I’d give him 10 stars.”

“Colleen was such a great sitter! She was so patient with Bruiser as he is a bit untrusting. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to feel at ease by leaving their pets alone. A thousand thank yous!!”

“Diana stayed with Nellie and Emma while my husband and I had to go out of town for a funeral. In addition, I had a mobile groomer coming that day as well. Lucky for us, Diana came earlier than originally planned and was there to bring the dogs back into our house when each one was done. I appreciated so much Diana’s flexibility in helping us out not only taking care of our pups overnight but we could still have their grooming appointments kept. Our pups were well taken care of and happy. Thank-you Diana! Highly recommend Diana.”

Rebecca is the best! She knew we were worried about leaving our dog and sent pictures the entire time we were away. She genuinely cares about the pets she watches over. Duke was calm, happy and well cared for, even with a thunderstorm and a power outage. Would definitely recommend Rebecca to anyone needing a pet sitter.

We were so lucky to find Rebecca!! Westley was well cared for and she went above and beyond to celebrate New Year’s Eve and his 5th birthday while we were gone! We were all so thrilled to hear updates daily and her pictures were awesome. I think Westley will be missing her now that we’re back!! Again—we got so lucky that she was available!!
We needed someone to care for our 2 dogs for a day and into the night until about 1 AM. We found Rebecca, and so glad we did! She is experienced with a very (and I mean very!) large range of animals, and her interaction with the dogs showed that. She was very sweet with them (despite them being a bit much upon meeting new people!). They instantly took to her, and Angus kissed her repeatedly (something only reserved for his special people). You will undoubtedly like Rebecca too - a vibrant, friendly person with a unique and fascinating life story (and one ideal for animal care!). In the end, we came home to a peaceful home containing happy, healthy dogs. We are looking forward to utilizing Rebecca's terrific services in the future!
Ashley watched our 15 month old puppy while we were traveling in India and we had the best experience! Goose was no doubt in great hands while we were away! Ashley’s confidence in her work gave us a sense of comfort and we appreciate all that she did for our fur baby while we were out of town! 10/10 recommend 😊

FAQs for House Sitting - Little York
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Little York on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,193 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Little York. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Little York walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Little York maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Little York choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Little York. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
