“Elliot was FANTASTIC watching our pup! We got updates and pictures the entire time we were gone. We came home and she was all snuggled up next to him. Super star pet sitter. We will 100% use him again! Thank you, Elliot, for taking such great care of our girl.”

“We hired Wade to sit our mini poodle during my wedding all day at our house. He was very punctual, friendly, respectful of our place, and took really good care of our dog with the instructions we had left him. Highly recommend his services and will definitely book Wade again in the future if needed.”

“Bethany is hands down your go to person for the best dog care. She went above and beyond to help our senior frenchie . She kept us up to date on everything and cared for Layla like she was one of her own. Thank you!”

“This was our first time using Rover and it feels like we hit the jackpot with Juliette. She was absolutely amazing house sitting with our two dogs. Sent us pictures, updates and responded in a timely manner with our questions. We came back to a clean house, happy puppies and she even drew us a picture of our pups. We definitely recommend! We are going to recommend her to all our friends but honestly we would like yo keep her our secret. Thank you so much Juliette!”

“Rebecca is the best! She knew we were worried about leaving our dog and sent pictures the entire time we were away. She genuinely cares about the pets she watches over. Duke was calm, happy and well cared for, even with a thunderstorm and a power outage. Would definitely recommend Rebecca to anyone needing a pet sitter.”

About: I have had a dog since I was a kid. When I got married , we adopted our first dog Sonny from a rescue. Shortly after that we took one of the puppies from my sister in laws litter, Bandit. They both brought such love and happiness into our family and were devastated when we lost them both. Looking for a job where I could give my love to other’s animals. I currently am unemployed, but looking to be a full time dog sitter/ dog walker. I am a stay at home mom, hoping to bring some extra income to my household. My typical day starts at 7:30 with school drop off for my son and drop off at 8:40 for my daughter. With pick ups between 2-3:30. Once school ends my hours become more available.
“I cannot speak highly enough of Hailee. This was her first time dog sitting for us, and every single thing that could have gone wrong in our house did. Our water heater broke right before she arrived and started flooding the finished basement, the plumber that fixed the water heater accidentally left the gas off so there was no heat for 24 hours, and there was a fire down the street that caused them to turn off the power to our grid. And yet, Hailee made it all a breeze. Between coordinating with our plumber, keeping the dogs calm with the commotion in the house, and keeping us in the loop. We came home to a clean house and happy & tired dogs. You would have never known that it was a crazy week. Highly recommend if you want peace of mind & will be rebooking!”

About: I’ve been around and cared for all kinds of animals my whole life. From dogs and cats to snakes and rats. I currently have 2 cats of my own and occasionally watch pets of my friends. I’m currently available most days and times. I’m an early riser so early mornings work well for me. I’m not much of a night owl Your pet is my priority. I’ll make sure to monitor them closely and report to you with any information you’d like and unusual activity if it occurs. And of course send photos to give you peace of mind. I’m currently available most days and time. I prefer not to do later in the evenings as I’m not a night time person, but I can be available early mornings I respect your pet and your home. My cats have anxiety when I’m not home, so I understand pets need special attention when their routines are slightly off, and I want to make sure your pet is comfortable while you’re away.
About: I’m lucky enough to have an open schedule, which means your pet will get my full, undivided attention without being left alone for long stretches of time. I’ve taken care of a little bit of everything - dogs, cats, and even guinea pigs - so I’m really comfortable adapting to whatever unique routine your animal needs. My love playing with animals, chilling with them, and just watching them do what they do. One of my biggest strengths is working with pets who are on the shy or anxious side. I know how stressful it can be for them when their owners are away, so I’m incredibly patient. I know how to read their body language, give them the space they need, and just let them open up to me at their own pace until they feel completely safe. I am currently on summer break from college and take care of my own dogs at home. I make sure to give them everything they need from walks to play to just sitting around together. My main priority is keeping a constant eye on your pet and sticking as close to their normal routine as possible. Whether I'm staying at your place or visiting, your pet won't be left alone for long stretches, which really helps prevent separation anxiety. While I'm in a client's home, I will treat it with total respect and keep everything secure. I will make sure that all doors and gates are locked securely every time I leave your home, and I always keep dogs on a leash during walks. Because I have experience with everything from energetic dogs and cats to smaller pets like guinea pigs, I’m very aware of safety and choking hazards, like making sure small items or dangerous foods are out of reach.

“I am so happy I reached out through Rover to Joshua. I have two large dogs and one of them has endless energy, two large cats, a leopard gecko and 10 chickens. Kind of last minute, I decided to take a quick weekend trip. My younger dog is a handful and I was worried that I would not find the person to understand and care for my puppy and all the others. Then I contacted Joshua. Punctual, polite, knowledgeable about breeds and specifics and best of all!?!? Finn likes him. I had a wonderful trip. Joshua sent photos and videos and kept me updated on how everything was at home. He stayed at my home and also hous sat for me. Joshua kept the house the way I keep it. He made ire to collect my mail and some medicine that was accidentally shipped and needed to be refrigerated. I would highly recommend Joshua for both house sitting and keeping a bunch af what most people would refer to as a group of large animals. Thank you Joshua!!!”

About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life and have always had a passion for caring for animals. I currently have two dogs of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I also help care for my elderly dog with special needs, giving me experience with senior pets who require extra patience, attention, and gentle care. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply lots of cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I’m currently a student who is mostly remote. I have a very open summer schedule thanks to my summer break. I’m available weekdays and weekends. Or message me if you are in a pinch and I can try and accommodate you! “This was our first home stay with Liz, and she was fantastic with our pup Winnie! She is super caring, great at tiring out our energetic girl, very communicative and sent lots of photo and video updates throughout our trip. Liz was also gracious enough to bring in our mail and water our plants, and generally take great care of our home in our absence. We are very happy Winnie fell in love with Liz and had a wonderful time while we were gone, and we’d highly recommend Liz to anyone looking for an excellent pet caregiver. We will certainly be booking Liz for future Winnie care ☺️”

I will follow your specific requests to address any concerns, individual behaviors and unique pet personalities. Each of our special friends deserve it.
“We can’t recommend Alexandria enough! Her first time sitting for us involved rain/snow and she was flexible with everything that comes with dogs and weather! She was very communicative and took great care of our dogs. Was a huge relief to know they were well taken care of and happy with her! We will defiantly book with Alexandria again!”

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats all my life! I also currently work at a pet store and therefore have a knowledge base of troubleshooting with animals. While I am out of the house for work, I can change my availability based on your needs! I work close to home so I can let dogs out during the day if needed! I have a fenced-in yard and a dog and cat friendly environment. I have a child and two cats in home, so pets must be kid and cat friendly.
“Bri was so great with our dog, Winnie! Sending me updates and photos the whole time we were away and she made me feel very comfortable about leaving my pup with her. Would definitely recommend her to others!”

Ashley watched our 15 month old puppy while we were traveling in India and we had the best experience! Goose was no doubt in great hands while we were away! Ashley’s confidence in her work gave us a sense of comfort and we appreciate all that she did for our fur baby while we were out of town! 10/10 recommend 😊

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,677 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Stewartsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stewartsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stewartsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stewartsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stewartsville. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
