I was especially worried about our dogs as we've taken them with us whenever we've gone on a trip and they wouldn't be able to go with us this time. I found Marleny and Luis as a first time Rover user and was relieved that they were able to care for our two dogs while away. We had a meet and greet, and a few day visits leading up to the trip and all went well. The dogs were with them for 8 days and my heart was at peace knowing they were being cared for in their home. About: I’ve grown up with animals my whole life, but cats have always held a very special place in my heart. Since I haven’t been able to have a cat of my own for a while, I’ve happily become the designated sitter for my friends’ cats—affectionately calling them my “furry nieces and nephews.” I’m the person who genuinely gets excited when a cat decides to sit next to me, follows me from room to room, or—perhaps the highest honor of all—chooses to sit in my lap. About: I've had a strong love for animals since I was a kid and always grew up with a pet. While that's a common backstory, I wanted mine to result in becoming a veterinarian. Now that may not have happened (I changed my mind in college), but my love and desire to be around them has never changed. I've owned birds, hamsters, turtles, cats, dogs and fish. From my childhood dog Bruno who died a few years ago, to my late grandma's dog Jabar (who I drove across the country to get when she died) to my current babies; Brick (rescued from the streets) and Plato (my turtle rescued from an unethical vendor). Here we are now, one big, happy multi-species family! I work from home while my partner goes into an office. This is how I can care for my boy Brick and my other house doggie Jabar (his mommy goes to work so I take care of him during the day too). I can give your baby a huge portion of my attention a day, because Brick is a puppy I always watch him like a hawk. Brick gets up around 4:30 am with his dad so he can get breakfast and go out. But I don't wake up until around 7:30 am so that's when Brick comes back out. We go outside and I let him run around like crazy for about 30-45 mins and then I keep him in the living room with me while I start work. Because he's a puppy, every two hours we outside to the background and he gets lunch around 2 pm. He gets about 2 hours out to play and be with Jabar, and in the cage for an hour. That's on routine throughout the day but when Dad gets home around 6 he's out for the rest of the day until bed. Jabar is older and more independent so he plays, roams the house, eats and drinks throughout the day when he wants and goes outside with me and Brick.

About: I’ve been surrounding myself with animals for as long as I can remember! Growing up, I always had dogs and cats in the house, and over the years I’ve cared for everything from farm animals to wildlife. On top of a lifetime of personal pet ownership, I also worked for years as a veterinary technician , so you can rest easy knowing your pets are in knowledgeable, safe hands if they ever need medication or extra special care. When I’m with your fur babies, I treat them completely like my own family. Whether we’re out on fun neighborhood walks, playing in the yard, or just snuggling on the couch, their happiness and safety are my top priorities. I know how much you miss them while you’re away, so I love taking tons of photos and sending updates whenever you want them. You’ll always know exactly how your pet is doing and get plenty of cute pictures along the way! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine! I offer flexible availability throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and sitting. “For the first time in a long time, my family and I took a vacation out of the country. I was especially worried about our dogs as we've taken them with us whenever we've gone on a trip and they wouldn't be able to go with us this time. I found Marleny and Luis as a first time Rover user and was relieved that they were able to care for our two dogs while away. We had a meet and greet, and a few day visits leading up to the trip and all went well. The dogs were with them for 8 days and my heart was at peace knowing they were being cared for in their home. I sent rationed food, treats, beds and instructions for eye drops and daily supplements. Marleny did not hesitate and accommodated all my requests. I'm very happy to have found a caring home and caretakers. We will be planning more vacations knowing we have a reliable and caring option for Ella and Diesel.”

My pup is a finicky eater and Jim kept me up to date on her feeding habits and asked permission to add tempting meat to her food to entice her. She loves to run at full speed, so his fenced property was ideal. Jim also communicated with me as well as provided plenty of photos during her stay and a video of her socializing at playtime.
