About: My family has raised goats and chickens since I was around 10, and have had dogs and cats for as long as I can remember! I've grown up around animals my whole life and I am accustomed to caring for goats, chickens, dogs, and cats! I'm currently home in Northern Virginia from college for the summer, so I have plenty of time to play with and care for all of your animals!! I have a fenced in yard for dogs as well as plenty of space to take them for walks! As well, I have litter boxes/safety measures set up for my 4 cats. I have 8 goats and 13 chickens so I'm used to making sure the outdoor animals are safe from predators and locked safely into their houses at night.
“Lea M. is great with Sophie and Remy. We get a detailed report about their visit, and the dogs are happy when we come home! I try to schedule with Lea whenever possible.”

“Erin is amazing ….professional, on time and so kind to my pet! I have used Erin’s services more than once and will continue to call her first when I need to be away from my pet!”

“Addison did so good with Ollie! I adopted Ollie last weekend from the shelter & he has severe separation anxiety. Addison was patient with him and came over last minute. She also cleaned up a poo & pee accident the second time she came over with no issues. Ollie seemed to love her. Would request her again!”

About: I have a wide variety of sitting experience as I have cared for dogs, snakes, chickens, goats and even emus! There is no challenge too big and as long as you’re willing to show me how to care for your pet, I’ll be quick to learn! I generally have a very open schedule. I like to keep busy by spending my time in valuable ways and am always down for an afternoon of play! I am a detail oriented individual and, unless otherwise requested, I keep a detailed log of what I do when so that families know as much as possible about how their pets have spent their time. This also gives assurance that in the case of emergency, you’ll be able to see if anything happened that may have caused an adverse reaction in your pet. More of a precaution than anything as you can never be to careful when it comes to your precious animals!

I’m comfortable with administering medications, sticking to specific feeding schedules, long walks, crate training, senior care, and puppy routines. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. You can expect: • Plenty of exercise and playtime • Consistent routines • Clean food and water bowls • Lots of affection and attention • Regular photo and video updates I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. About: Hi, I am a passionate dog lover. I will gladly take your pet on long walks followed by plenty of play time. Their health and well being is also a top priority of mine, I will ensure to inspect their teeth, paws, and skin daily. It is not easy finding a pet sitter you can rely on, for that reason, I like to provide picture updates and notes to make sure you are comfortable and at ease on how your pet is doing. I can provide references from previous clients to support my care and love for dogs. It would be a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to care for your pet. I am available throughout the day to tend and care for your pet. Whether that be drop-ins, walks, or boarding needs. I can work with you to make sure we setup the right schedule. For drop-in clients, I am able to provide morning, afternoon, and evening visits. During my visit I will provide play time, water bowl checks, and feeding depending on the need of your pet. For boarding clients, I live in a large Townhome with a balcony that is readily accessible for your pet. I live by a nature trail that I will use for walks, play time, and just all around fresh air. If needed I am able to crate your pet to maintain your training processes. I will provide fresh water, scheduled feeding, and exercise.
About: I’ve cared for pets of all kinds since I was 10 years old, including dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals. I will provide the best care for your fur babies while keeping their same routine. Whether that means plenty of exercise or just cuddling on the couch, I will make sure your loved ones are taken care of. I am very responsive and communicative, and will always keep you updated throughout their day to give you peace of mind. Having two fur babies myself, I know how daunting it can be leaving them. My goal is to give your pet the same level of care and affection they are used to at home. I am a registered nurse and currently working part time, therefore I have free time during the work week. I am available throughout the week during regular work hours. I will care for your pet like one of my own, and make sure they are comfortable and at ease while you are away. I will make sure their routine and schedule will stay the same for continuity. I also prioritize giving frequent updates so you always have peace of mind.

About: Have only had 9 months total of my life without a dog or a pack of them by my side. Your fur baby will be fostered as one of my own; their walk, run, or potty break is all about them! With guidance from you, we will move at their pace. If they want to go for a run... then we run! If they prefer to walk tree to tree and smell every flower, that's fine too! I am available early mornings and mid-days during the week. I also have availability nightly to check on the pups and make sure they're ready for bed. I look forward to meeting the needs of your family, if it be walking or running the dogs, or making sure they are comfortable in your home, just let me know. I am fortunate enough to have a remote role, so my schedule is usually set to my own dog's needs. I am by no means a gym rat or a marathon runner. Yet that doesn't stop me from getting in usually 2-6 miles a day, both walking and running. While my dog is crate trained, it would be great if yours is as well, for those few errands that may take me away for up to 4 hours at a time (a busy week would be 3 half days in the office)

“Nancy was so conscientious and has a warmth that both people and animals relate to. I was 100% confident that Pepper would be well taken care of in her capable hands.”

About: I am a responsible, reliable animal lover with a lifetime of hands-on experience caring for pets and large animals. I grew up with cats and large dogs and currently have two cats of my own. I have over 25 years of horse experience and have managed more than 60 thoroughbred race horses. Whether it’s a walk or drop-in visit I will provide attentive, dependable care and treat your pets as if they were my own. I’m an early bird who works from home, giving me a flexible schedule for walks, visits, playtime and plenty of personalized attention every day. I provide calm, attentive care in pets’ homes, I follow their routines closely, ensuring comfort, safely, feeding, play, and regular check-ins with each visit.

About: I’ve lived with pets all my life and currently have one indoor cat (spayed, friendly) and one dog (spayed, spends most time outside). I’ve done dog sitting for up to two weeks in the past and cat sitting for up to one month both in my home and at pet owners’ homes. Though I prefer felines as they’re easier to manage, small/medium dogs are certainly welcome — as long as they’re not too vocal. I am a long distance runner and hiker, so no walking distance is too far for me! My arm strength does have a limit, so any dogs over 30 pounds who pull/aren’t fully leash trained are a no-go. Additionally, I’ve done pet sitting for guinea pigs and rabbits for 1-3 day periods! I work part time and do most work from home, so I’m continuously available all week. My home is right next to the W&OD trail, so walks are convenient all times of day and the trail is never crowded. I’m always happy to drive pets to the trail as well. My cat remains entirely indoors, but the dog has endless pits of energy and so spends lots of time outside. We have two fenced areas, one specifically for the dog and another for the pool, along with ~1 acre of unfenced yard.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
