I have a flexible work schedule at home and welcome an excuse to enjoy fresh air and exercise together with your pet. I'm available for daycare and dog-walking every day except for Sunday mornings.

Your dog can stay indoor in my apartment or outdoor in the fenced-in yard, as needed. I live in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for walking. If additional space is needed for running and walking in the open countryside, I am also happy to take your dog on a "field trip" to my family's little farm.

I am comfortable walking large and medium-sized dogs, and I've provided pet-sitting for a variety of breeds. I take a gentle approach and enjoy making shy pets feel relaxed. My basement apartment is on the smaller side and the upstairs is used as an Airbnb, so I have a few (occasional) limitations providing daycare. Happy to discuss how we can best meet the needs of your pet!
A typical day
I love to make circuits around the neighborhood and explore all the sights, sounds and scents. There's a loop along the edge of town with plenty of empty stretches of green grass to roam. A game of fetch is always possible in the back yard.

Pet care experience
For years, I've walked the fields and trails along the Potomac River with a furry companion - most recently with Flannery, my family's Great Pyrenees who loved romping in Virginia Bluebell flowers and sinking her paws into mud. Animals have always been a part of my life. I've mucked stalls, herded ewes and lambs, evaded headbutting rams, cuddled pigs, milked goats, trimmed hooves, and named a farm dynasty of cats and kittens names like "Nefertiti" and "Isosceles" (after Egyptian royalty and geometry terms). Nicole did a wonderful job taking care of our three dogs while we were on vacation. She was very communicative, sending photos and updates daily, and we could tell she truly enjoyed getting to know our dogs. We returned to a spotless house and happy pets. This was our first time using Nicole to watch our 2 dogs. Communication was great and she was attentive to the dogs. We look forward to knowing we have someone we can rely on to call the next time we need a dog sitter - and we willl definitely call her again.
