“Dale and Karen are truly the best sitters we’ve ever had. They gave our girls the most love and gentle care. They will definitely be our first go-to from now on!”

About: I'll love them like their my own. I'm new to Rover but I've helped friends, family and neighbors care for their fur babies for the last 30 years or so. I grew up with Old English sheepdog but love all animals. My friends joke that I can't go anywhere without meeting a new dog friend. I currently have a senior dog with an autoimmune disease so I'm comfortable with providing special needs care. I'm great with all types of dogs and love meeting new friends. I'm happy to help with all care needs including walking, feeding, playing, administrating medicine, and cuddle time. I can't wait to meet my new best friend! Outside of school drop off and pick up times I'm available to help with your pets care. I'm available from 8am-10pm most days and can also do overnight if needed. I will care for your pet as if they were my own. During our consultation we can go over your pets specific needs which I'm happy to accommodate as well as a meet and greet so you and your fur baby can feel comfortable with me.
“Susan was so loving and sweet with my Rosie! She has plenty of walks and she went out of her way to make sure Rosie ate her food. I will absolutely have her watch my dog again in the future and recommend her.”

About: My kids (13-19) and I can offer a safe, happy home, companionship and plenty of play time to your furry friend(s) while you're away! Being semi-retired allows me to dedicate more time to caring for pets. I frequently assist friends and family with pet care when they travel. My life basically revolves around my 3 teenagers, volunteering and bike riding when possible. Your pet will always have company in our home, with plenty of walks and playtime. My children, especially my daughters, love and enjoy their companionship.
About: Hi all! I am interested in doing some petsitting to find some dog friends for my pup. I am not a full-time dog sitter, however, I'd like to find some more dogs that my dog will play with & hopefully build some puppy friendships. I live in Broadlands and WFH. I work from home & my dog is cage free all day. We usually do a longer walk in the mornings (between 6-7am) and play outside when it's cooler, then a short walk around lunch time, and another walk around sunset. Bedtime is around 9:30 in our house. Ideally I'd like to find other low-medium energy dogs that play well with my dog and can be trusted to free roam/play around my townhouse while I work. We go out for lunch time play around the neighborhood so good leash manners is a must.
“My wife and I are super glad we found Cheryl. Meeting Cheryl gave us immediate confidence that our dog, Dezi, was in great hands. She hosted Dezi for the day and did an excellent job; he felt right at home in her beautiful home, with a fenced yard (plenty of space to play). Cheryl's attention and genuine care made the difference, and we plan to rebook with her in the future.”

“Bruno has received the best professional and personal care during his first daycare experience with Ella. We have met a Ella a day before to see how Bruno is going to like the place. Ella got a great big home with fenced backyard, which Bruno felt home as soon as he entered the home. We talked and learned about each other and dropped Bruno with Ella next day. We have received regular updates and photos from Ella to let us know how Bruno is doing throughout the day. He enjoyed his stay and played well with other doggies and don't want to come home when we went to pick him up. Bruno gave a special hug to Ella before jumping back to his car. Whenever we need a day care again for Bruno, Ella would be our first choice. Overall it's a great Experience!”

About: I’m a mom with lots of patience and genuine love for animals. I have experience caring for pets with different personalities, including helping anxious or stressed dogs feel safe, calm, and happy during boarding. I’ve cared for many of my neighbors’ pets, and they always love coming back. I’ll treat your pet like family and be their next best friend while you’re away! I have a 16 year old miniature Shih Tzu who means the world to me! I’ve also rescued several dogs and cats. I spent about three years volunteering with the SPCA Texas. To me, dogs are little angels, and I treat every one of them with love, patience, and gentle care. I’m home full time, so your pet will never be left alone or unsupervised. I know boarding can feel stressful for pets, so I make sure they get lots of love, attention, and a calm environment where they can feel safe and comfortable. I live with my daughter, who also loves animals. We don’t have kids in the home, and we respect every pet’s space and personality. Our home is clean, peaceful, and very pet friendly, dogs are welcome on the couch and bed if that’s what makes them feel at home. Everything is cleaned thoroughly after each stay. I only accept one boarding family at a time, so your pet gets my full attention, personalized care, and a quiet space without being overwhelmed. We also have a yard. My own pet is fully vaccinated. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel safe, happy, and loved, like they’re staying at 5 star home away from home. I’m flexible and happy to accommodate your dog’s needs. I’m home 24/7, so your pet will always have company, care, and supervision. We usually start the day early with a nice morning walk, followed by breakfast and lots of attention. If treats are allowed, I love giving a little morning treat, such a fun way to start their day. In the afternoon we go for another walk, and I spend time playing based on what your dog enjoys most, whether that’s fetch, toys, or just relaxing nearby with company and cuddles. In the evening, we do another nice walk followed by dinner and wind down time. Throughout the day, they will have potty breaks in our yard I provide loving and patient care for every dog, whether in my home or yours. I’m retired, so I have full focus during my work.
“Francisca has been day caring Fedo for couple of days now and she picks him up from us and drop him on time which I feel is an amazing thing! Fedo would come back happy and tired :)”

“Jennifer was amazing! She was communicated with me about everything and was open and kind about all the things she needed from me. She also took amazing care of my silly dog and sent great pictures of him having fun. When I got my pup back he was happy and tired which is an amazing combination for a husky! We appreciate you and your help so much and will definitely be returning the next time we are in town!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Leesburg
Finding someone you trust with your dog is everything, and Maria has been that person for us. She’s watched Sancho again, and once more she exceeded our expectations. The love and attention she gives him is so evident, and we always come back knowing he’s safe, happy, and well cared for. We are incredibly thankful for her and feel so lucky to have her.

Giovanna is an excellent communicator and sent regular updates during Coco's daycare. Coco had a lot of fun with her and Patron and we're looking forward to boarding Coco with her. Giovanna went above and beyond to ensure Coco has a balanced day of activity and rest, and also hand-fed him his meals when he was being picky! She's the best! Thank you!!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Leesburg commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
