About: 30+ Years of Experience: Puppies to Seniors I’ve been a dedicated dog owner for over three decades, caring for a wide variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I understand how to read canine body language and cater to different life stages: Puppies: Patient with potty routines, basic manners, and high-energy play. Seniors: Gentle, attentive, and experienced with mobility support, low-impact routines, and administering oral or topical medications on a strict schedule. Work-From-Home Care & Supervision As a self-employed professional working full-time from home, your pet will never be left alone for long stretches. Whether they need a mid-day bathroom break, a play session, or just someone present to keep them company while I work, I offer consistent supervision and a calm, reliable routine throughout the day. Pet-Friendly Home & Spacious Fenced Yard Our entire home is fully set up for dogs! We have a spacious, fully fenced backyard where pups can safely run, play, and explore. We also have one high-energy, super-friendly resident dog who loves meeting new friends and playing with our furry guests. If your dog prefers a buddy to burn off energy with, they’ll have a built-in playmate here. Active Walks & Nearby Trails I love staying active! Living right near several fantastic walking trails makes it easy to provide fresh air, structured exercise, and mental stimulation tailored to your dog's fitness level—whether that’s a lively stride on the trails or a relaxed sniff-walk around the neighborhood.

About: My kids (13-19) and I can offer a safe, happy home, companionship and plenty of play time to your furry friend(s) while you're away! Being semi-retired allows me to dedicate more time to caring for pets. I frequently assist friends and family with pet care when they travel. My life basically revolves around my 3 teenagers, volunteering and bike riding when possible. Your pet will always have company in our home, with plenty of walks and playtime. My children, especially my daughters, love and enjoy their companionship.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Nina was wonderful, attentive and very caring towards my 2 dogs. She was in constant communication with me and very flexible and accommodating to their needs. My one rescue is a handful but he seemed to be doing great in her care. I got videos that showed how calm and relaxed he was. So glad I found a great sitter for my pups!!

About: Our family of five discovered just how much joy a dog can bring when we welcomed our Coton de Tulear, Kova, into our home. Since then, caring for him has become something we all enjoy—from walks and playtime to simply spending time together. Kova is naturally a little anxious, so he’s taught us to be patient, observant, and respectful of every dog’s unique personality and comfort level. We’ve also experienced what it’s like to trust someone else with a beloved pet when we’ve traveled, and those positive experiences inspired us to become Rover sitters ourselves. My goal is to provide the same peace of mind to other families by treating every dog with kindness, patience, and genuine affection. For me, pet sitting isn’t just about feeding and walks—it’s about making sure each dog feels welcomed, comfortable, and loved until they’re back with their family. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because we already plan our days around Kova. Every day includes walks, outdoor time, play, meals, and plenty of companionship. Since either my wife or I work from home every day, someone is almost always home to provide attention, potty breaks, exercise, and care throughout the day. We’re also happy to follow your dog’s normal schedule, including meal times, medications, favorite activities, or any special instructions that help them feel comfortable. Your dog’s safety and comfort are our highest priorities. We have a fully fenced backyard for supervised play and live in a quiet neighborhood that’s perfect for walks. We take the time to make sure every dog settles in at their own pace and can provide separate space if they prefer a quieter environment. We’ll carefully follow your care instructions, including feeding routines, medications, exercise, and any special needs. To help you feel connected while you’re away, we’ll send at least one daily update with photos so you can see how your dog is doing and enjoy your time away with confidence.

About: Hi all! I am interested in doing some petsitting to find some dog friends for my pup. I am not a full-time dog sitter, however, I'd like to find some more dogs that my dog will play with & hopefully build some puppy friendships. I live in Leesburg and WFH. I work from home & my dog is cage free all day. We usually do a longer walk in the mornings (between 6-7am) and play outside when it's cooler, then a short walk around lunch time, and another walk around sunset. Bedtime is around 9:30 in our house. Ideally I'd like to find other low-medium energy dogs that play well with my dog and can be trusted to free roam/play around my townhouse while I work. We go out for lunch time play around the neighborhood so good leash manners is a must.

About: I have several years of experience caring for my own (fur) baby girl 'Ginger', which has given me a strong understanding of daily pet care, including feeding, walking, playtime, grooming, and providing lots of love and attention. I also regularly provide doggy daycare for my friends' dogs because I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets and making them feel safe and comfortable. Since I mostly work from home, I can give pets plenty of attention throughout the day, ensure they stay on their routine, and provide regular potty breaks, exercise, and companionship. I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to create a calm, loving, and stress-free environment while they're in my care. My Experience Although I'm new to Rover, I've spent years caring for pets for friends, family, and neighbors and I enjoy getting to know their personalities and making sure they feel comfortable and safe. I'm committed to building long-term relationships with both pets and their owners through dependable, loving care. What You Can Expect Every booking includes: Daily updates Multiple photos Walks and potty breaks Playtime and enrichment Plenty of affection Respect your pet's routine I mostly work from home, I can give pets plenty of attention throughout the day, ensure they stay on their routine, and provide regular potty breaks, exercise, and companionship. I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to create a calm, loving, and stress-free environment while they're in my care. I will provide a safe, clean, and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and at home. I follow each pet's regular routine, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. Since I work from home most of the time, pets are rarely left alone and receive regular supervision throughout the day. In my home, I make sure pets have a comfortable place to rest, access to fresh water at all times, and plenty of opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and play. I also provide updates with photos and messages so owners can have peace of mind while they're away.

Sancho may be a spoiled little Frenchie, but he met his match with this amazing sitter! She treated him like royalty, even hand-feeding him when he decided his food bowl was beneath him. 🐾 I came home to a happy, relaxed pup, and that says it all. If you’re looking for someone who loves your dog like their own (and has the patience of a saint), she’s the one!

About: Hello! We’re Shannon and Jorge. We know how important it is to have a trustworthy dog-sitter, so we take the responsibility very seriously. Dogs love being at our house and enjoy all the cuddling and interaction they get here. We love dogs and try to make them comfortable and happy while they may be missing their owners. We’ve cared for so many different breeds, personalities, ages, a pregnant dog, and many puppies (including six that were born in our bathroom!) P.S. Chihuahuas are our favorite! Please note: Drop-offs before 7am will be an additional $15; Pick-ups after 3pm will be charged for an additional day. We are always caring for pets because we have two of our own. Every day of the week, our pets are part of our routine. We have a fenced yard and a comfortable living space for furry friends to roam. If they have a special diet, we can do custom meal plans as well.

About: Hi! I’m a work-from-home mom of three amazing boys, and caring for animals has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a farm, so being around animals wasn’t just a hobby — it was a way of life. I’ve owned pets my entire life and have also fostered many dogs over the years, so my boys have grown up learning how to properly handle, respect, and love animals. We recently lost our sweet dog last year and are taking a little break from owning one, but our home feels happiest with paws around. Dog sitting allows us to share that love while giving your pup the attention and care they deserve. Because I work from home full time, your dog will rarely be alone and will get plenty of supervision, affection, and companionship throughout the day. We have a large single-family home with lots of space to relax. There’s a large fenced backyard for safe outdoor time, as well as a spacious front yard — but please know your dog will never be outside unsupervised. In our home, dogs are family. They’re welcome on the couch and even in the bed for snuggles at night if that’s what they’re used to. My boys love giving extra attention, playtime, and belly rubs — always guided by what your dog is comfortable with. Our family truly adores and respects animals, and we will care for your dog as if they were our own — with patience, structure, affection, and lots of love. I’d love to meet you and your pup! Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine since I work from home full time. I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and regular potty breaks as often as needed. Your dog won’t be left alone for long stretches. We go on at least one walk every day, and I’m happy to adjust the length or pace depending on your dog’s age and energy level. In addition to walks, I incorporate outdoor time, playtime, and plenty of affection into the day. Because I’m already on a steady home schedule, it’s easy for me to maintain feeding times, medication schedules, and any specific routines your dog is used to. When pets stay in my home, they become part of our daily routine and are treated like family. Because I work from home full time, I’m able to provide constant supervision, regular potty breaks, and lots of attention throughout the day. Dogs have access to our large fenced backyard (always supervised) and enjoy at least one daily walk, along with playtime and snuggles. They’re welcome on the couch and even in bed if that’s what they’re used to. I stick closely to each dog’s normal feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions to help them feel comfortable and secure. My goal is always the same: to provide safe, loving, reliable care so both you and your pet feel completely at ease.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Oatlands commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 3,800 sitters in Oatlands, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
