“Svetlana was amazing with our pups! She connected with them the first time they met and I knew I could trust her with their care. It is evident how much she cares about each and every animal! I would highly recommend her services 😊”

About: My family and I have fostered cats and dogs and provided hospice care for a dog with cancer (1 year) until she passed. I understand all breeds and their unique energy needs and activity levels. Medical care and aging limitations would be understood and can be tended to with your pet care needs. I work full time M, T, Th, F, Sa 8am until the deliveries are complete (can range from 2pm to 6pm). When I am not home, there are other family members present (spouse works, dad is retired). In the afternoon and evenings, my children will be attentive to any animals kept at my home. I enjoy connecting with all animals. Our weekends are more hectic with soccer season in full swing. Some weekends we may be elsewhere in Virginia with limited care depending on the weekend, April through June. We have a small fenced in yard with the ability to take your pet out for long, short, or frequent walks. My kids would provide any extra loving and attention while your pet is in my care. I kept a friend's cat for a week. When that week was up, her cat didn't want to leave. Whenever I visit them, the cat finds me to snuggle while I am around. Animals can sense the love and kindness within our family.
“Rita and Matt did a wonderful job caring for Roxie! They were both super attentive and with it being my first time using Rover services as a pet parent, I felt comfortable with them and at peace knowing she was well taken cared of during each visit.”

“Jessica was great. She managed to get my dogs to go out in the rain (which they did not want to do!). Even my cat was comfortable with her right away and he’s usually a little skittish with new people. I will definitely be booking with her in the future.”

About: I currently work as a bather at a grooming salon where I regularly work with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Additionally, I have worked as a vet assistant at a veterinary hospital in Fredericksburg ,at dog daycares, and at boarding facilities in the past, as well as have personally owned and cared for dogs and cats my entire life! I currently work full-time at a grooming salon, but I find time while I’m off to care for pets! My schedule is available on my page. I have the utmost respect for both your home and your furry family members. As such, I treat every client, pet, and their property as if they belonged to family.
“Stephanie has been a reliable and amazing dog sitter for my two pups. She is very responsive when I reach out and so understanding and patient with my anxious and shy dog. 10/10 would recommend ❤️”

About: Hi, my name is Kieaira! 💕 I have taken care of dogs for many years now, and also have dogs of my own. So I completely understand communication is key when your fur babies are being taken care of by someone else! Neighbors have asked me to walk there dog with my dog for many years now, and I volunteer to every time. 😊 My schedule is open to early mornings or late evenings, as I work during the day! I would prefer at least a 48 hour notice but can take 24 hour on a case by case basis. ⏰ I have two dogs, Nico and Zara, who I have adopted over the years! I have also fostered dogs from the animal shelter, and gave them comfort until they were transitioned to their new home. I understand that it takes patience, care, and genuine passion to take care of a fur baby. One of my favorite things to do is to run around with my dog, so I will be sure to have enough energy to play with your fur babies!

“Madison really went above and beyond what I was expecting having never used this service before. She was on time every day and put in the effort to care for my little dude and to endear herself to him. I highly recommend her and will book her again in the future.”

“Marissa is amazing. I say that with such confidence because my two cats were happier with her here than they are with me! She took such great care of them. The daily photos and write ups were spot-on capturing their furry little personalities to a T. 10/10 would absolutely recommend her and hope to book her again.”

About: I connect well with all kinds of pets from shy furry friends to exuberant puppies. I am reliable and caring because our pets are very important to us. I have a flexible schedule and am able to fit caring for your pet into my life. Looking after the animals in our lives is very important to me. I love to help your dog get the wiggles out. I am known for taking very long walks and making a dog feel energized yet, want to take a long nap. Having me walk your dog is a healthy decision.
“Ligia treated our pup like her own while we were away for the day! Her drop-in visit to our home was seamless, she was flexible and wanted to make sure she followed Scout's schedule - asked a ton of great questions to make that schedule possible! She was timely in answering my messages - will definitely book again! Highly recommend.”

“We had a great experience with Cory! My boys felt comfortable and at ease while we were on vacation, thanks to Cory. He’s very communicative, attentive and caring! I highly recommend him for any pet-sitting needs!”

About: I have hands-on experience with everything from tiny pups like Chihuahuas, Yorkies, and my own Cockapoo, to gentle giants like Saint Bernards and Great Danes. Whether your dog is a bouncy puppy, a laid-back senior, energetic, shy, deaf, or just a cuddle bug, I’ve worked with them all and love adapting to each pup’s unique needs. You can count on me to provide safe, loving, and reliable care like they’re my own! I am currently working part-time and virtual other days so I have plenty of time to play with your pup! I am available for walking or boarding weekdays or weekends! I have a large fenced in yard that’s perfect for running around and getting some energy out! I like to go for walks around the block to give them some new scenery as well. I currently have a 16y/o cockapoo and cat in my home.

About: Hi, I’m Sierra! I know leaving your pet with someone new can be stressful, so I want to make that experience a little easier for both of you. I’m patient, caring, and happy to learn what makes your pet feel comfortable from their favorite activities to the little things they’re particular about. I’ll follow their routine and your care instructions, give them plenty of attention, and keep you updated with pictures and messages. Feel free to share anything you’d like me to know about them. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and knowing how your pet is doing! When I accept a booking, I set aside time to give your dog dependable care and attention. I confirm the schedule and care instructions with you beforehand, arrive on time for walks and visits, and follow your dog’s routine for meals, potty breaks, exercise, and rest. In my home or yours, I make sure your pet’s space is safe by keeping doors secure and food, cleaning products, and small objects out of reach. On walks, I use a secure leash and follow your instructions about interactions with other dogs and people. Before care begins, I ask about allergies, health concerns, behavior, and anything your pet needs to feel comfortable. I keep your contact information and vet details handy, respect your home, and let you know promptly if anything seems wrong

Tahliyah is truly wonderful! Our two pups absolutely love her, and we feel completely confident leaving our fur babies in her care. Being able to travel knowing they are so well loved and taken care of gives us a level of peace of mind we’ve never experienced before with traditional boarding. We are so grateful to have found her through Rover and couldn't recommend her more!
I want to extend my sincere thanks to Kaylin for taking such excellent care of our dog, Candy. We are very grateful for the wonderful care and attention to details she exhibit during the requested time. She was a problem solver, and a great communication. You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
