About: Growing up in a home with multiple dogs, I've spent my adult life much the same way. I've had 5 dogs in my 18 years of post college/adult life ranging in ages of 4 months up to 15 years. With one of my pups being a blind/diabetic dachshund, I have years of experience caring for dogs with special needs or those needing daily meds/insulin injections. While I will never cede care of your pet to her, my partner is also a licensed veterinarian who is a tremendous resource for our pets and those we watch when friends/family are out of town. Having her nearly two decades of expertise available to me (and by extension your fur kids) should provide you that extra level of assurance that your pets are well cared for while you're away. Currently we have 2 dogs in the home (a mini dachshund and lab/coon hound mix.. both 2 years old) They are friendly and playful and are used to having friends/family dogs stay with us for extended periods. I also grew up with exotic birds (specifically African Grey parrots) and am familiar with the specialized care they require. While I wouldn't consider myself a "cat person" we do have 2 in the home so I am comfortable with the care they require. I am certainly a "kitten person" but they always seem to grow up and stop wanting to play, so my preference has always been dogs. Our cats are good with our dogs and those we watch for friends/family. However, with the challenges that come with introducing an unfamiliar cat, we are not able to care for any additional cats in our home. I work full time but have the ability to work from home when the need arises or come home midday. Since we have 4 pets of our own, I am used to the responsibility inherent with building your schedule around the needs of our pets. We do not have any children of our own, so it makes caring for animals a bit easier. When not working, we are generally at home working on the house/yard or enjoying our pool when it’s warm out. We like to take daily walks with our pups and the occasional trip to the dog park to wear them out. The world is expensive and since we're already paying for our house, we tend to spend a good bit of time at home enjoying it as much as we can. As explained above, I have a lot of experience with animals (both our own and those of friends/family we pet-sit for). Our dogs are our family and we extend that to any in our care. Our home has an overabundance of toys to stimulate, a yard to run around in, and treats for good behavior. Our animals are welcome to roam the house and lounge on furniture as they please. We have crate trained our dogs and are comfortable with dogs that are still at this stage. As it pertains to being invited into your home to care for your pets, your mind will be at ease knowing you've entrusted an adult with multiple decades of experience. With that person also having access to a veterinarian at all times you should feel free from worry and able to focus on your business or leisure travel. We have ring cameras throughout the home/yard as well. While you're away, should you like, we can arrange access to some screen time to see that your pet is safe and having a good time. As homeowners and pet owners ourselves, we know how much it means to have somebody you trust in your home while you are away. A reliable pet sitter is someone to hold onto and makes any trip that much easier. We certainly have our own when we are out of town. About: My Golden, Polly, was my everything for 12 wonderful years. Now, family and friends have trusted me to care for their beloved fur babies. I would love the opportunity to welcome your pup into our home and provide them with the same love, attention, and care I would give my own. As a stay-at-home mom, I have the flexibility to create my own schedule and can be very accommodating while your pet is in my care. My days are primary centered around caring for your pet, with only occasional errands and regular school drop-offs and pick-ups. I'm happy to bring your pup along on car rides and include them in my daily walks when appropriate. I kindly ask for at least one week's advance notice when booking. Before accepting, I require a meet-and-greet. Returning clients are welcome to book with less notice whenever my schedule allows. My husband and I have two young daughters, so we only welcome kid-friendly pups in our home. To give each dog the attention and care they deserve, I only take one dog at a time. I can accommodate multiple dogs when they are from the same family. We have a large, fenced-in yard where your fur baby can safely play and enjoy some outdoor time. If I need to step away from home, they will be safely crated. My goal is to make sure every pup in our care feels happy, safe, comfortable, and loved while they're with us.
