“Chandler is great! I can’t recommend him highly enough. He provided wonderful communication and lots of photos during our week away. I was able to relax on vacation knowing that my cats were being well taken care of. We have already rebooked Chandler for another cat sitting stint.”

“Courtney was FANTASTIC with our baby Deli. It rained all weekend and Deli was scared and Courtney was so comforting to her and stayed close to her throughout her entire visit. She did a great job keeping us updated with pictures and giving us thorough details about her visits with Deli. If in the future we need someone to watch her, Courtney will be the first person we go to!”

“This was my first time using someone outside of family/friend. I was nervous because my girls are somthing else not mean but clingy and different. Joni kept me throughly updated with great picture. I would highly recommend here and I will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“We had Rachel do drop in visits for 9 days. She did an amazing job. I’m so happy we were able to rely on her to care for our cat. A wonderful and reliable caretaker. Thank you so much, Rachel.”

“Marlee took such great care of my pups! I did not have to worry a bit while I was gone and came home to happy dogs! She was great about communicating throughout and meeting each dogs personality and energy!”

“I was really nervous to find a pet sitter through Rover, I've never had to leave my dog with a "stranger" before. My dog is also a giant breed, which can intimidate people or make them nervous. Alyssa was great from the very start, my dog loved her right away which put me at ease. She didn't even care about his drool lol Alyssa is great with keeping in communication, providing updates and pictures after each drop-in. I was able to actually relax while being out of town knowing my baby was in good hands. I would recommend her 1000% and will def. book her for any future trips.”

“Briley was very good with our dog. Our dog gets very nervous with new people and Briley was able to get her outside to play. Briley came at the times we discussed, sent pics and gave good follow-up after her visits!!!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats for quite sometime and even have experience with giving dogs pills as well. I’m willing to not only stay and house sit but ensure the animals have a good time. I work part time and have a lot of gaps in my day for side jobs. I live an active lifestyle so there’s no such thing as too many walks or too much playing! I make sure water is full all the time and food arrives on time with no fuss. I can easily pick up after any animals ensuring a clean lawn as well as a clean home. No pet goes unloved!
“Maddie was excellent! She was patient when I had last minute issues, and was very accommodating. She treated my kitties like they were her own! I came home to very content and well-cared for kitties. 10/10 recommend and would hire again!”

“Marianne was absolutely delightful at our meet and greet, and the gang 🐾 loved her from the start! The pics each visit felt very personal, and I knew my babies were in good hands!”

“We’ve used Skylar twice now and both times have been so awesome. She communicates clearly with the visits and takes great care of our dog and cats, two of who are very senior and require special medication and treatment. They love her and were comfortable with her even the super shy one! Highly recommend.”
About: I always insure that pets are comfortable! I’ve taken care of old cats and dogs, and I when they are old like that it’s important to meet their needs first, as most of the time they need a lot of guidance and help. I am currently going into online college, so most of my day is free! I often sit down and watch TV or play video games, but I mostly enjoy writing and drawing in my free time I personally like to ask owners how there pets are in the company of others, as well as if any weather bugs them! The comfort of my pets, and owners is always my number 1 priority! I want to make sure that they are comfortable around me, and I never approach any animal until I’ve let them sniff me, it’s important that they trust me to be around them.
“Good care provided to pups and cats. They are also good communicators. They let us know when they were concerned about the animals. There was also the complication of our house being on the market to sell.”

About: I’ve never known a time during my life when I didn’t have a pet. My family had several dogs and I even owned some exotic pets. My current doggo is Kali, a five year old Bernedoodle. As somebody who is highly empathetic by nature, I connect really easily with animals. For this reason, family and friends always trusted me to take care of their loved fur friends. I work well with young to old pets, and am accustomed to very gentle training and care with lots of love. This is my full time gig. I’m autistic, so being around animals is both therapeutic and what I enjoy as I find it to be much less stress inducing than work that requires socialization. I also have a special connection with animals as I’m a very empathetic person and read energies well. I have a yard and a friendly, trained bernedoodle that works very well with other dogs. She’s been in training and daycare since she was a puppy. Your pets are more than welcome to have a playmate if they’re friendly as well. I also have a large crate if your pet needs kenneled. I give pets constant attention and honestly spoil them, so to me they are just another family member.

Ava was very responsive, nice, and did an excellent job communicating any changes. The kitties seemed to love her and I would definitely recommend her to take care of your fur babies. :) She was also kind enough to bring in the mail for us on our extended trip.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
