“Ginger was fabulous with our family of furry kids while we were on vacation. We have 2 large dogs and 2 indoor cats and came home to happy pets that had clearly been well loved by "Auntie Ginger" while we were away. Ginger was amazing with communication while we were on vacation as well letting us know how everyone was doing and sending fun pictures. She took great care of our home as well! I was a little nervous having someone in our home while we were away but would highly recommend Ginger to anyone...even someone who is very particular about the care of their home and pets like we are. If your priority is the well-being and happiness of your pets, having Ginger pet-sit is the way to go. We have done boarding in the past and the dogs always come back a wreck and high-strung...having them in their own home with Ginger here was a perfect fit for their happiness. Ginger is amazing!”

“Having had mixed experiences using Rover, I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Stephen. I’m new to the area, work in an animal related profession and am pretty particular when it comes to my pets care. My dog can be a breeze or a challenge on any given day and Stephen was both understanding and accommodating. Just an all around good guy - professional, flexible and great with communication. It was easy to be away and focus on work, trusting that my girl was in good hands. Thanks Stevie!”

About: I was a dog walker back in college and loved getting to see my animal friends on a regular basis. I have more experience with adult and senior dogs but I can’t say no to a puppy! 🫶 I’m available usually after 10am and can drop in anytime. I can be busy on afternoons during the weekends but I’m mostly around to help. Very flexible and am willing to work with you on the best care for your loved one. Please give me clear instructions and i will be keeping you updated as much as you’d like, via texts and phone calls as needed.
“Sabrina is a joy to work with to watch our lil dude Nico. Her communication is fantastic and she always went the extra mile to ensure he was well-cared for. We had complete ease of mind being away and knowing that he received lots of love, cuddles and care.”

“Sienna took great care of my house for 3 days. I have a large property with lots of plants, a large dog, and two cats. Everything was in tip top shape when we came home and she took so many cute pics of the animals. We will definitely trust her with our house and our fur babies again!”

About: Not only do I have 10 years of experience of pet sitting, I have experience working with shelter dogs. I’ve been with Placer SPCA as a volunteer for many years. I work with fearful, excitable, shy and even reactive dogs on a weekly basis. I make sure to give them the best care I can provide. I have plenty of free time and my shelter schedule is very flexible! I spend most of my time caring for pets or working with animals. I am someone that you can contact last minute for pet sitting! I will make sure that your pet gets all the love, care and attention your best friend could possibly need. I provide mostly overnight care, in which I make sure your pup is cared for in the same way you do every day. Building trust is very important to me, I’ll make sure to send pictures of your dog (or other animals) along with a report of how they are doing and any other info you may need.
“Jordan was absolutely awesome!! I had to take a week long trip to visit my in laws for the holiday season and it always makes me nervous finding a good sitter for Archie, my 13 year old senior dog. Jordan was nothing short of phenomenal! I work from home and Archie is used to me being home a lot so Jordan shifted his schedule around to make sure that he was able to stay at my home as much as possible. He was super communicative throughout his entire stay, constantly kept me in the loop of things, and gave me lots of updates. Another thing I really appreciated was how punctual he was! I have had other sitters who took care of Archie and did just fine, but I really feel like Jordan went above and beyond. I told Jordan about cougars in the area and Jordan was extra careful to make sure that Archie was safe and secure in the home. The entire trip I had zero concern knowing that Archie was so well taken care of. Jordan cares about animals and it shows, and he also cares about his clients. I came home to a house that seemed even cleaner than before I left! Jordan is super kind, reliable, and trustworthy. He is the kind of sitter you want - especially if you have to take a trip for an extended period of time. I will 100% book with him again and recommend his services.”

“Amy is kind, caring, and attentive. My pets loved her. She is excellent and communicating and sending updates. She’s very generous and fair with her pricing and services. She will be my go to for any future housesitting/ pet care needs. Thank you Amy 😍”

“I feel totally comfortable leaving my 2 dogs and 1 cat in Mathias' care (housesitting for several days) . He kept me informed of how they were doing, and left the house very clean. Absolutely no issues. Would recommend him without reservation! Most importantly the dogs love him.”

“Jillian was wonderful! I always hate leaving my pup, but she sent lots of photos and kept us updated on how he was doing. She played and ran around with him. She also was very clean and the house looked great when we returned. I’ll definitely be having Jillian again in the future!”

About: My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is not just cared for, but cared for with genuine love. I’ve been caring for pets for years and truly treat every dog or cat like part of the family. From playful puppies with endless energy to sweet senior pets who need extra patience and gentle handling, I tailor my care to each animal’s needs. What sets me apart is my attentive, personalized approach — I don’t just “watch” pets, I make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I understand how important routines are, whether it’s sticking to feeding schedules, administering medications, or keeping up with daily walks and playtime. I work from home, which means your pet will never feel “left alone” during the day. My flexible schedule allows me to give plenty of attention, walks, and play breaks throughout the day — not just morning and evening check-ins. I also share my life with Barkley, my friendly dog who loves having new buddies around. He’s a great companion for pets who enjoy company, playtime, or just having another dog to nap near. Together, we make sure your pet feels safe, entertained, and part of the family. Whether it’s sticking to feeding routines, long walks, or snuggle breaks between meetings, caring for pets is a natural part of my daily rhythm — not something I squeeze in. Your pup will have the best of both worlds here — space to run, play, and explore, plus all the comforts of a loving home. We live on an acre of land with large fenced dog runs, so pets can enjoy plenty of safe outdoor time. Whether your dog loves to zoom around, sniff every corner, or just lounge in the sun, there’s room for it all. Inside, pets are treated like family. I make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and included in the daily routine. Walks, play sessions, and cuddle time are built into the day, and I keep a close eye to make sure everyone is safe and happy. With my own dog, Barkley, as a friendly companion, visiting pups usually settle in quickly and feel right at home.
“Dillon was amazing with our girls. Not only did she send photos and updates but she took them on several adventures while we were away. We arrived home to a clean home and two very happy dogs. I will absolutely be reaching out in the future next time we head out of town!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life. I walk a malamute and husky a lot. I pet sit for smaller dogs too. I love walking dogs because it’s a good exercise for them I currently am still in high school I graduate in June so right now I’m available to walk dogs around 4pm. I drive so I can do a little far distance When walking dogs I walk them for an hour and I always bring water to make sure they get the water they need and don’t overheat
“Mel was incredible! Her care for our dogs was beyond what we could have hoped - she exceeded in every aspect. Responsive and proactive communication with photos and updates. I would highly recommend her and will absolutely use her again. She treated our girls and home with the utmost respect and was truly a pleasure to work with. You would not be disappointed (rather spoiled) with the care she provides. Thank you Mel! Ravioli, Biscotti love you!!! ❤️”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lander Crossing
Dillon met our dog Spud: Our 7 year old Border Collie Spud has one big personality issue, he will not get close to anyone he doesn't know. Because of his shy nature it makes it difficult to find a pet sitter for him. After reading Dillon's Rover profile it sounded like she might be a good fit to work with and care for our Spud. We booked a meeting and a quiet walk for Spud and Dillon's first short outdoor visit. Gotta say, Dillon had Spud eating out of her hand in no time! She knew not to rush him, and understood that he needed more time to trust someone he didn't know. We have a good feeling that Dillon is going to be Spud's new buddy and caregiver. Thanks Dillon for understanding and wanting to take the time to know Spud.

I needed last-minute help, and Karli saved the day. She was very caring with our sweet girl--attentive, loving, and was nice enough to send updates through the afternoon. Such a relief for me knowing she was well taken care of. Thank you, Karli for helping last minute! Penny says she loves you ❤️

FAQs for House Sitting - Lander Crossing
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,009 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lander Crossing. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lander Crossing walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lander Crossing maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lander Crossing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lander Crossing. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
