“It felt so great to leave our girl with them! They were responsive, sent lots of updates, and gave her so much attention while we were away! Can’t stress enough how much more enjoyable our night away with our daughter was knowing Sophie was well taken care of by people who care! Will book again 😊”

“First overnight for our puppy with Ruby and her family! As with the last time Cusco spent time at Ruby’s home, he got so much love, attention, and playtime. I received many photos and videos while we were away, always making us feel comfortable and giving updates! I know Cusco is already looking forward to going back :) thank you, Ruby!”

“Sarah (and her wonderful daughters) went above and beyond caring for our fur babies! Leaving your pets behind is always tough, but Sarah made it completely worry-free. She kept us in the loop the entire time and sent the sweetest photo updates that totally brightened our days. Our dogs absolutely adored her and her family—they looked so incredibly happy, relaxed, and loved in every single picture. It is such a relief to find a sitter who truly treats your pets like their own. Sarah is reliable, communicative, and exceptionally kind. We cannot recommend her highly effects and will definitely be booking her again!”

“We were gone for 2 weeks. George and Malia took great care of our girl while we were gone. They sporadically sent sweet photos and videos of our pup so we didn’t miss her too much. Highly recommend.”

“Emily and her husband were great. I ended up stuck in Reno due to a fire and them closing I-80 so I texted Emily and explained my situation and Emily was great she had no problems keeping Bo for another day. She sent me pics and videos of Bo having a great time at her house with her dogs. I was afraid Bo wouldnt want to come home with me cuz he was having such a good time. Which wasn't the case Bo was happy to see me when I picked him up, but im sure he is going to miss Emily and her family.”

“Colleen and her husband are lovely people and treated our Maltipoo like he was their own. She is very knowledgeable and intuitive and a real dog lover. My little dog even looked back at her when we got into the car! What a lucky find 🐶”

“Lisa was great with our dogs! She provided regular updates with photos and was flexible with our schedule. This was our first time having them stay with a pet sitter and I would be happy to book with Lisa again.”

“The best review is the way my little guy went running to Michelle with his tail wagging when I dropped him off. He obviously enjoyed his stay with his doggie friends everything to explore in the big back yard.”
About: I have worked at a doggy day care that serviced over a 100 dogs and 30 cats at a time. As a kennel tech, I took care of the animals. I played with them, gave them enrichment, training, ect. I have 1 year experience selling pet food. I learned a lot about dog and cat diets and food sources. Currently i'm available 24/7. This is what I do full time. So the animal will have 24/7 attention. Special circumstances will apply, weekend adventures or what not. Anytime is negotiable. Every animal will be treated as my own. Dogs will sleep in the house. We have 1 acre to run around on in the day. I'll be here all day.
“Justice was wonderful for Sammy, and super understanding of changed plans, uncertainty, and people other than myself dropping off and picking up my pup .. I would have understood if she didn't want to deal with it all, but everything worked out and she was extremely gracious and friendly, and great with communication. I look forward to having her watch Sammy in the future !”

“I'm glad I found Michael and Patricia. Josie felt at ease with them right away so it made me feel good about leaving her with them. They are a wonderful couple who really care about dogs. I rarely go out of town, but if I ever need a sitter for Josie in the future, they'd be the ones I'd book a stay with.”

“Greg was awesome. We had an accident two days before our trip that required a vet visit. So we had last minute complications that Greg easily accommodated. Both our dogs are a little shy but Greg slowly won them over. Greg is very observant of dog behavior/cues and knows when to be patient with a dog.”

“All I can say is Wow! Everything was perfect with Sylvia and her pup Finn! The dogs got along so well and the yard is shaded and green. I got pictures during the stay and my dog, Deschutes was stretched out on the carpet with a face of contentment. Just what a dog owner wants to see!”

“Another great stay with Michelle. Per usual, we had travel difficulties (car had to be towed from the airport). Michelle’s flexibility with pickup time was very helpful and appreciated. Good, quick communication, and lots of videos of the pup!”

“Jen and her husband are the best! Top three reasons we liked them so much: 1. They were so sweet to our pup and seemed to really enjoy her company. 2. They asked great questions before we dropped off, worked with us to plan a meet up beforehand, and kept us updated on how our pup was doing. 3. Their home is peaceful, clean, and I felt confident our pup would be safe.”

“Thank you for taking good care of Tootsie! Sheena provided daily updates and photos of our little fur baby! Tootsie was treated like a part of their family! Highly recommended 😍”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Lander Crossing home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Lander Crossing.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Lander Crossing sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
