About: I have been caring for dogs and cats for over 27 years. Having grown up with pets and assisted neighbors, friends, and family since childhood, I’ve developed a naturally calming presence that animals truly respond to. I specialize in making pets feel secure and relaxed, which is especially helpful for animals that may get anxious when their owners are away. My care is thorough and heartfelt. I’m experienced with everything from high-energy play and long walks to the "spoiled" side of pet life—plenty of back and belly rubs, baths, and quality companionship. I also have extensive experience with cats, including maintaining strict feeding schedules, refreshing water, and ensuring litter boxes are kept perfectly clean. Whether your pet needs an active buddy or a quiet, gentle soul to keep them company, I treat every animal with the same love and attention I give my own. I am available for morning and afternoon care to ensure your pets get the attention they need throughout the day. I have a very flexible routine that allows me to prioritize drop-in visits and walks when you need them most. Whether it’s an early morning check-in or a mid-day walk to break up their day, I am consistent, punctual, and dedicated to keeping your pet on their preferred schedule. My goal is to be a reliable and calming presence in your pet's life. When I enter your home for a visit, I prioritize safety and security, making sure your pet feels comfortable and your home stays secure. I am highly vigilant during walks and play sessions, ensuring a stress-free experience for your furry family members. I pride myself on following instructions to the letter—from feeding routines to ensuring your house is locked up tight when I leave.
“Karen was great with my new puppy. She was kind, considerate, responsive and caring and followed all instructions well. Will definitely be using her again soon!”

About: Fur friends are enjoyable to be around, whether they are my pets or yours. When I am caring for pets, I am especially aware of their individual needs, their body language and their need for physical activity. My pets can tell me through their body language when they have had a good or bad sitter experience. When I care for your pets, I want your fur family to tell you that they had a good sitter experience. Happy wags and meows! During the week, I work from home but I have flexibility to drop in to check on your pets. I am also able to take them on walks or run around the back yard, if that is what they need. My desire is to provide a safe environment for your fur family when you are unavailable to care for them. I am trustworthy and intend to demonstrate that character trait to you. I treat others the way I want to be treated, including pets.
“Sara is reliable. She has quickly earned the trust of my two shy, elderly cats. They used to hide when a sitter came to feed them. With Sara, they have started joining her in the kitchen as she fills their bowls with food! Since we started using her, I do not worry as much when we are away!”

“Scott was so helpful while I was away for this weeks’ work travel, dropping in a few times each day to feed, walk and play with the pups. He's always on time as agreed, gives them lots of activity and attention, and they love his company.”

“Holly took such wonderful care of our babies while we were away 🥹💖 She was very kind, communicative, and made us feel so comfortable the entire time. We loved receiving updates and seeing how happy and relaxed Luna and Mattias were with her 🐾✨ She truly treated them with so much love and care, and we’re so grateful for all her help. We would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her 🤍🥰”

“Olivia was reliable, communicative, and clearly very caring. I really appreciated the updates and photos — it gave me peace of mind knowing my dog was in good hands while I was away. She was attentive to instructions and made sure my dog was well taken care of each visit. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for dependable and kind pet care!”

“James was very helpful with our pittie when we went away for the weekend. He visited twice a day, took her on a walk and sent pictures of her eating and walking outside. We will definitely use James again to look after Ivy! She loved him.”

“Aaliyah is amazing with our young puppy! She is always on time, communicates very well, and we totally trust her. You can tell she really cares and has a passion for what she does! Would recommend 100%!”

“I've had many cat sitters over the years but Alivia is simply the best.. She's a great communicator and really cares for your animals. She Very diligent and sends you loads a pictures.. Don't hesitate to reserve with her.”

About: I’ve been house and pet sitting for many years to help my family and friends. It’s time to be rewarded for my love for animals and be paid by others for my services. It’s hard to find good “customer service” these days; I am the opposite, your pets will get great service/attention from ME! Bonus: my career has been as an Administrative Assistant so I’m very organized and can assist with other things too, if needed, requested and discussed. I am currently unemployed and have all the time in the world to care for my pet and yours. Toodles of course would stay home. Toodles is an inside cat. She is proven healthy and well fed, I clean the litter box and her food bowls daily. She gets treats and love. We just bought her a new perch to watch the birds and lizards outside the window. In someone else’s home with their pets, I care for them exactly as asked. Walks, feed, love, crate (if necessary), it is what the client wants that their pet shall get!
About: 🏡 Experience: I share my home with two dogs and two cats. I have 18 years of experience with my eldest animal, a cat named Tiger (in my profile photo). I also have multiple years experience in animal rescue, TNR stray cats, and fostering. I work full time Monday through Thursday until 5pm but you can reach out to me about availability. Depending on what type of service you need, I might be available during workdays. I have a fenced in yard in a quiet neighborhood. I have a dedicated room to pet care so that your fur baby feels comfortable. I have two very friendly small dogs of my own who are crate trained and two elderly cats.
“Risa has been wonderful! I had to leave my Rocket for a short trip and she took care and attended to his needs while I was away. Will definitely book her again. :)”

“Steven did a great job communicating with me before, after and during the visit. He was very patient with my old boy,Domino giving me great peace of mind. Will definitely book Steven again when the need arises.”

“There’s a reason Evan has a perfect rating. He was able to take care of my cat with only 12 hours notice. It was an unexpected/emergency trip so there was no advanced planning but Evan rolled with it, found everything - food, litter, the house key (!) It really was last minute. Evan even loaded and ran the dishwasher for us so that we didn’t walk into a disaster Highly recommend Evan!”
“Jenna is absolutely the BEST! She was so sweet and patient with our rescue dachshunds. It was the first time we've been away from them and were so nervous about it. We were completely at ease with Jenna taking care of them though and could enjoy vacation knowing they were with such a caring person. She went above and beyond and we'd give her 10 stars if we could! Definitely recommend and will be booking with her again!!”

“Kara was incredibly sweet and kept me well-informed about everything happening with my pets while I was away. She dedicated ample time during her visits, ensuring they received plenty of love and attention in my absence. Trusting a stranger with your fur babies and home can be daunting, but Kara made the experience completely comfortable. I’m truly grateful for her exceptional care. 20/10!”

“Sandra did a great job caring for our cat. She was comfortable giving his inhaler and spent lots of quality time with him during each visit. She also kept the litter box tidy and took care of things when he wasn’t feeling well. We’re grateful for her help and that we came home to a happy and well-loved cat!”

5/5 Stars – Meticulous and Incredibly Caring! We hired Cadence to watch our furbaby while we were away on a week-long vacation to San Diego, and she was absolutely phenomenal. This was the longest we have ever been away from him, so we were naturally a bit anxious, but Cadence completely put our minds at ease. Her communication was fantastic throughout the entire week. She was so sweet, caring, and incredibly respectful of our home. She didn't just do the bare minimum—she took meticulous time every day to play with him, give him his treats, brush him out, and keep his feeding schedule perfectly on track. It is such a relief to find a pet sitter you can truly trust. We would definitely use Cadence again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for top-notch care for their pet!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lakewood. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
