“Darci did a great job taking care of our cat Max. She came as planned, updated me on how he was doing and sent pictures so we wouldn't miss him quite so much. She went above and beyond making sure all was well at home while we were gone. We definitely highly recommend Darci!”

“Highly recommend! They were very patient with my insulin dependent, feisty cat while we were away visiting family. They were very reliable and communicative.”

“Haylie came in clutch as a last minute sitter for my dogs. She was on time every day and stayed with them the full hour (I only needed a mid-day potty and play break for my dogs). She sent me pictures of my pups and let me know how they were doing. I would book Haylie again.”

“We are so grateful to have found Alena. We have booked with her multiple times and she always takes such great care of our cat. She is kind, caring and thorough. We would highly recommend Alena for all of your pet sitting needs!”

“Sarah was wonderful! I am a new mommy to a little fur baby and was nervous about leaving him for an evening out with my husband. She came by for a meet and greet and was so nice and warm. Great updates with pictures. I highly recommend her.”

About: A cat owner for many years, I will help keep your fur babies safe while you are away! I have had cats in my home since I was born, and have 2 of my own!! I am a high school teacher so I am currently available all throughout weekends and after 3 on weekdays. Over the summer I am an open book!! I have two friendly cats to keep your fur baby company and I have a screened in patio for some outside time if needed!! Can’t wait to work with you!
“Sarah Is Absolutely Wonderful ! We are very grateful for her making time for us in five days notice. She is responsive polite and thorough. Our cat loved her, and that was our cat’s first time on her own. She played fed pet and spoiled our little goblin. She takes great pictures that are very funny and very cute as well. We felt very relieved after the first update and continued to be happy with each additional one. Will definitely contact again the next time we go out of town.”

“We had an unplanned last minute trip come up and Taylor was extremely quick to respond to our request to feed and visit with Dixie. In spite of wicked stormy weather conditions, Taylor was very reliable and thoughtful. Our Dixie dog was exhausted by the time we got home, so I'm sure Taylor provided her with playtime exercise too! Thank You Taylor for coming through for us!”

“Excellent pet sitter, great communication, considerate, friendly, hassle free and follows instructions well. I will definitely be booking her services again. Highly recommended!!”

“Allison was wonderful with our 5 kitties while we were gone for 7 days on vacation. She was so attentive to their needs. Allison made sure to get plenty of photos to share with me during our vacation and her “report cards” were thorough and funny. She even vacuumed for us once because of the cat litter around the boxes. She really went above and beyond and that’s why I would definitely book her again to take care of our cats.”

“If I could give more stars I would. Amanda is an excellent sitter. When I am away, her daily photos and messages put my heart and mind at ease. She has formed an amazing friendship with my kitties. They are well looked after in her care.”

“Cindy is an incredible dog sitter! She took excellent care of my Ella and made sure she was happy, comfortable, and well-loved while I was away. I appreciated her regular updates and attention to detail. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

About: I love animals and had my dog for 15 years before he passed away. I am a mental health counselor that works from home half of the time and only gone for a few hours a day for in person sessions. I haven't been able to get another pet because it's still hard to face that my dog is gone. Doing Rover allows me the opportunity to hang out with animals so I can take my time to choose the perfect dog for me. I understand how special our pets are and will treat yours like I would if they were my own. Although I work full time, I only work outside of my home part time and the rest of the time I work virtually from my home office. Therefore, I'm fairly flexible I have a 2 bedroom condo in a dog friendly complex with plenty of room to walk them. I was a responsible dog parent and have had multiple cats and ferrets as well.
About: Hi! I am Shawna. I’m a five star Rover sitter with 32 verified reviews, now offering drop in visits and dog walking. I’ve always had a soft spot for animals and truly enjoy spending time with them. I grew up with cats and dogs, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. While I no longer provide boarding or doggy daycare in my home, I’d love to help make your day a little easier by caring for your pet in the place they’re most comfortable-their own home. Whether your dog needs a walk, a potty break, fresh food, and water, or just someone to throw a ball and give them some attention, I’m happy to help. For cats, I’m just as happy to refresh litter boxes, feed them, play with them, or simply sit with them if they’re the quiet type who enjoys company. As a stay-at-home mom, reliability and kindness are important to me. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I don’t take that lightly. My goal is for you to come home to a happy pet and to feel confident knowing they were well cared for while you were away. I’ll always treat your pets with patience, love, and respect and I’ll send photos and updates so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. (My favorite part about being a Rover sitter!) I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family member! Please message me with any questions you may have. I’m currently at home with my 2 kiddos and since it is summertime my availability is pretty open! Pet care fits easily into my daily routine and I enjoy getting out for walks and spending time with animals throughout the week. I’m happy to provide dependable loving care while you’re away. When caring for your pets in your home, I focus on keeping the routine as familiar and stress-free as possible. I follow your instructions closely for feeding, walks, litter, box, care, playtime, and any special needs or medications. During each visit, I’ll also check that everything is in good order in your home and send updates and photos so you know how your pets are doing. My goal is to give you peace of mind and make sure your pets feel cared for, calm, and loved until you return.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hibernia. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
