About: I am a Massage Therapist for over 26 years taking a little break from the spa world. I found myself having extra time. Recently, my friends have been asking me to dog sit for them and I thought why not open my services to my community. I recently watched a very sweet dog for a week became very attached giving lots of love and massages. I have a friendly five year-old dog that loves companionship. We have a pool that we all love to get into and cool off. I can give dog baths, dog walks dog parties. Have comfort in knowing that your dog will be well taken care of. I have the flexibility with my work schedule to only be gone 5 to 6 hours any given day. I can do check-ins a couple of times a day as well as overnight sitting in my own home. We have a decent size fenced yard. We live on a pretty quiet street with only one or two dog neighbors. My dog copper is very friendly and loves company. Copper normally stays inside, especially during the hot months. We have a park nearby that I like to throw the ball and get the wiggles out. On occasion, we take our dog to a dog park.
“Ako was very attentive since our first interaction. She followed our instructions and did great with our two cats! We trusted her and we will ask her to take care of our fur babies when we needed again.”

About: I offer housesitting with many years of experience with petting and as a Property/Estate manager in Montecito and Santa Barbara now San Diego. I only watch one family of pets at a time. Your pet will be treated as family. We go on hikes, beach days, walks, play outside in the yard and go to parks if these outings are appropriate for your pet. About this sitter: Really love what I do and the animals I care for. I grew up with many animals. My parents bred Doberman Pinchers. I love playing with the dogs, I believe it keeps both myself and the animals I watch happy and healthy to play out doors as much as possible. I also love to cuddle with the animals, they are so sweet. All the animals that come to visit us are treated as part of our family. Why I love dog sitting I grew up on a large property in San Diego with Doberman's, Germain Shepherd/collie mix and my grandfather raised Rottweilers. I just adore dogs and cats. I love to take them to the beach, hiking, and cuddle on the couch.

Our schedule is extremely flexible, which allows us to work with whatever schedule needs you have. I have a huge heart and could not live without animals in my life. I recently lost my Great Dane after a decade of getting to love him. He had DCM since he was a puppy so I have extensive knowledge of caring for that, giant breed needs and know how to track and administer many medications. “We are new to the area and needed last minute dog visits! Kaitlin was kind enough to help us out and she was professional, communicative and took the cutest photos of our pups! Kaitlin is responsible and very considerate of what our animals need. We feel incredibly fortunate that we found Kaitlin ~ in a veritable sea of pet sitters and dog walkers, it is often challenging to find the right fit. Kaitlin was amazing! Highly recommend her!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Andrea! She was reliable, caring, and very attentive to our dog. She kept us updated throughout our time away, which gave us complete peace of mind. Our dog was happy and well cared for when we came home. We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely use her again!”

“Adela and Errol were amazing with our Bucky. They went the extra mile and took so many pictures throughout the session. I will have flexible availability over the summer & am open to long-term clients if we make a good fit together. Over the summer (June to August) I have free availability Monday-Wed, Fridays, & Sundays. Thursdays and Saturdays I work 12 hour shifts, but can arrange flexible pet care for your furry child w/ the help of my sister-in-law who has over 9 years experience caring for puppies and dogs. About: I’m a lifelong animal lover and have enjoyed caring for pets my whole life. I had my sweet girl Stella, a pug, for 13 years. I crate, potty, and recall trained her as a puppy, fed her a balanced diet of vitamins and homemade food throughout her life, and gave her loving, gentle care in her senior hospice years. I’ve also cared for my mom’s boxer for a year and even taught her, her favorite trick… tossing a treat up with her nose and catching it! I’ve looked after my friends’ pets as well, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, senior dogs, birds (parrot), a chameleon, and special mentioned of a disabled Frenchie who needed a little extra help to go potty. I make friends with any neighborhood kitties when they let me. Usually just takes a bit of chicken or turkey. Lol I work from home and also work a couple part time jobs so I am home often. When I do leave, it its only for about 4 hours or so. I’m patient, attentive, and dedicated to making sure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved while in my care. I treat every animal as if they were my own and understand that giving their family peace of mind makes leaving them just a little bit easier.
About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a family that raised Yorkies and German Shepherds, and I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities. I’ve also trained my own Rottweiler and have years of experience around horses as an equestrian mom. I understand how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the person caring for your pet. My goal is to provide a safe, loving and attentive environment where your dog feels comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I especially enjoy caring for small dogs and am happy to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. Flexible schedule so I have plenty of time to provide attentive, personalized care. I specialize in private home boarding for one family at a time, which means your dog is not mixed with multiple unfamiliar dogs during their stay. This allows for a calm environment, focused supervision, and a comfortable experience where pets can relax and feel secure. There are no small children in the home and no smoking. There is a small fenced patio with no ability to escape. Downstairs is all wood floors (potty-proof and puppy friendly) 😊💜. For safety and comfort, I typically host only one household’s dogs at a time.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lake Village
Tasha has been so helpful during our move to Fallbrook! She has been working with our slightly reactive dog to get to know him and has been willing take the time to build a relationship with him. Our cat absolutely adores her, every time she is here he comes running for some pets and treats. She has also been very helpful with watching our chickens, she is great with all our different animals and we feel lucky to have found her after our move!

We had a last minute booking and he responded so quickly! He was wonderful with our little 5lb papillon and did daily drop ins. Posted photos daily and was extremely communicative. He even let our Persian cat out in her catio. Will definitely book with him again!!

Cynthia has been the best pet sitter ever. She has provided consistent care, love, and support for our dogs. During a recent dog walk, there was a rare encounter with Coyotes. Cynthia’s quick thinking kept our pups safe. We are thankful for her and fully appreciate her service and support!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
