“Jonathan is absolutely amazing. He took great care of my Khloe, whom I have enjoyed life with for a long time. He was very respectful of any needs and being in my home. I highly recommend and would love for him to take care of her again. Thank you Jonathan from Khloe and myself”

“Matt is the absolute best!! Very sweet and kind to my 13 year old black Lab. From the meet and greet I could tell Matt was very sweet to my Lola and empathetic to my anxiety of leaving my elderly pup alone. Matt was very attentive to following the list of directions for my pups eating and med routine and was so kind to send me updates each time food, meds and potty breaks happened. Matt sent tons of pics all day. Already booking Matt for my next trip. Thank you Matt you are an angel.”

“Our flight got cancelled and Maria came to the rescue! One of our two dogs is very nervous and it is always scary for us to have someone walking into the home without us there. But because they know and love Maria, we knew that our dogs were in good hands when she stayed with them for a few hours when our trip home was delayed. How they react to her is a good indication of the care that she gives them.”

“audrey is always amazing!!! she watched our senior frenchie for 10 days while we were on honeymoon and he had such a blast. he’s happy and healthy and almost was sad to see us 😂 thank you as always!!!”

“Great experience. Amanda is so nice and personable. My pugs took to her right away and were well taken care of. She was very communicative and sent pictures of our hooligans while we were away. Will definitely book again in the future.”

I’m fully insured with professional PCI ("Pet Care Insurance") liability coverage, including animal bailee and veterinarian reimbursement—giving you peace of mind while your pets are in my care. “Carla was absolutely amazing with house sitting my two pups. She knew my Luna was not fond of new people and she was patient with her and by the third day, she had won her love. Carla sent updates and pictures and I felt at ease being away. She not only took care of my pups but also my home. I would recommend booking with Carla 😊”

About: I have been around all type of animals since I was born. I grew up with a weekly visit to my families farm, which kickstarted my passion for animal-care and provided a strong foundation to understanding all creatures and ensuring they are living their best lives. In high school, I worked at a dog-boarding facility called Shamrock Ranch, feeding, walking, and loving on the residents. Since graduating in 2020 and moving to San Diego, I have acquired my own pack of 3 land-sharks, all with their own array of needs being rescue dogs. Hence, I am capable and comfortable handling dogs with special needs, reactivity, and those who just need a little longer to warm up. I also have been rescuing rats for years, so I am very familiar with their needs and would love to help with yours! I currently only work at farmers markets on the weekends serving up Buddah bowls, so my schedule is wide-open on weekdays and weekend afternoons / evenings. Having rescue dogs with different needs, I am always very aware of my surroundings and observant of potential triggers. I am also a very detail oriented person, always double-checking that the doors are locked behind me, etc.

About: Certified in Cat and Dog First Aid – American Red Cross Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for a wide range of pets, scaled or furry, young and old. Whether your pet is young and playful or a senior in need of a little extra care, I look forward to giving them the best care they need. I’ve cared for many medium to large dog breeds such as Labrador Retrievers, Boxers, Pit Bulls, Siberian and Alaskan Huskies, and Malamutes. I also have experience with smaller breeds like Dachshunds and French Bulldogs. For cats, I’ve grown up with them in my own home as well as cared for friends and neighbors over the years. I currently share my home with two of my own, Ulysses and James 🐈 🐈⬛. Reliable, compassionate, and trained in pet first aid, I’m here to make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I'm also happy to help with simple household tasks like bringing in packages or taking out the trash. Feel free to reach out during a visit and let me know! 🕓 Schedule I have a fairly flexible work schedule. I do work a typical 9-5 but can pop in and out for short periods of time. Please message me and we can get you on my schedule ☺️ 💛 Care I think having a set routine for pets is very important, especially when you’re away. Ideally I would try to best emulate what schedule you have your pet on with walks and feeding schedule.

“Jenny took great care of our pack while we were away. She was so organized and communicative from the start that we had complete confidence in her and she did not let us down. She was quick to respond when we were in touch while we were on our trip and we came home to 2 happy cats and 2 happy dogs and a clean and tidy house. What more can you ask for? Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was eight years old, when I got my first soul pet, Mimi. She was my best friend, and I was lucky to share 19 beautiful years with her. Since then, I’ve lived with and helped raise six more dogs, including my sweet Luna, who we adopted during the pandemic. There’s nothing I love more than spending time with dogs, and it would truly be an honor to care for and bond with yours. I bring years of hands-on experience, deep affection, and a calm, responsible approach to every dog I meet! I’m a graduate student at SDSU studying public health, so I’m definitely available during the evenings and weekends, and my weekdays are often flexible. I always make time for my pups, and I’d be happy to work around your schedule to make sure your dog gets all the love and care they need. I live in a cozy apartment with my sweet 6-year-old Pomchi mix, Luna. She’s incredibly gentle, friendly, and used to being around other dogs. I have a large crate available if needed, and I treat all pets like family. Luna is allowed on the couch, but I always wash her paws after our daily walks. I keep pee pads down just in case, and there are always plenty of toys, treats, and fresh water to keep pups happy and comfortable. When I care for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to follow all your instructions carefully. I stick to your dog’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any medications they need. I also keep your home clean and tidy, and I’ll send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands.

“We had a wonderful first experience working with Yun through Rover! From the start, her communication was excellent — clear, prompt, and reassuring. She was incredibly thorough and attentive, and it’s clear she genuinely loves and understands dogs. Our pup was in great hands, and it showed. We especially appreciated how considerate and caring she was throughout. Looking forward to booking with her again soon!”

“Simply outstanding. Imelda is an incredible person and pet sitter. She took immaculate care of our fur babies and home. We were stuck overseas for an additional few days and Imelda stayed. 5 stars is not enough!”

If there was anything he was unsure of he immediately messaged me to get clarification. Friendly and active, I will def be booking w/ him again.”

“I felt very comfortable leaving my dog and elderly cat (who gets meds 2x/day!) with Michelle for 12 days. She is very responsible, has great attention to detail and is highly attentive to making sure all bases are covered. Additionally, and so important, she has a kind, loving and compassionate energy - I felt at ease leaving my furry children and home with her and was not disappointed!”

About: I've had cats of my own, and/or been volunteering with cats, for most of my life - including cats of all ages from kittens to seniors, and cats with special needs. Currently I have one cat of my own (Athena, 12 years old). I'm reliable and responsible, and while I'm new to pet-sitting on Rover, many of my friends have relied on me to take care of their pets while they're out of town. I love spending time with pets, so I figured why not do it for some extra cash during my free time? I'm in the San Carlos area, but willing to drive elsewhere in the San Diego area. (Note: Most of my pet care experience has been with cats, but definitely willing to take care of dogs and other pets too!) I'm available most evenings and weekends. I also work remotely, so I can arrange to be at your place with your pet(s) during the day if needed. I will ensure your pet is safe and well cared for. Pets, just like people, have their own personalities when it comes to interacting and socializing - I will also get to know your pet and provide as much, or as little, in the way of playing and socializing as they would like.

Lara F.
“Lara stayed in our Napa home for 2 weeks as a pet-sitter through the TrustedHousesitters site. She took excellent care of our playful kitten, Storm, and our two foster cats. I noticed that the foster cats were more sociable and confident upon my return. Storm (kitten) loves to play and snuggle, photos showed she got plenty of both activities whilst we were gone. We also have a stray cat that visits for food and water every day but is scared of people - Lara had no problems making sure that they were cared for as well.”

Lake Murray pet parents share their Rover experiences
"I recently had the pleasure of hiring Chase to care for my dog Lucy, and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Chase was incredibly attentive, reliable, and showed genuine affection for Lucy. Chase stayed at our house for a week and throughout the sitting period, Chase provided regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind. Lucy seemed happy, well-exercised, and relaxed when I returned. I highly recommend Chase to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you for your outstanding service!"

Michelle was absolutely great taking care of our little one and our home while we were gone for 13 days. She is a rare find and a truly calm, gentle soul. She definitely earned all her great reviews. We did a meet and greet first where she came to our home and we knew after that meeting that she was the one! Finding a great pet/house sitter is harder than it seems. So many on Rover don't really seem to understand the meaning of house sitting. It means you actually live in the house with the fur babies not leave every 4 hours and be gone all day. Rest assured Michelle will live in your house so your anxious fur baby remains in their comfort zone and routine. I work from home so I wanted to mimic that level of human presence that out little guy has become accustomed to and she was able to provide that. Michelle took care of little chores like watering plants and feeding our fish, but most importantly she took care of our little baby with plenty of play time and constant companionship. She was very responsive over messenger even though we were in another country. And when we came home the house was perfectly clean and in order. We highly recommend Michelle for pet/house sitting and we will certainly be using her again!

We had a wonderful first experience working with Yun through Rover! From the start, her communication was excellent — clear, prompt, and reassuring. She was incredibly thorough and attentive, and it’s clear she genuinely loves and understands dogs. Our pup was in great hands, and it showed. We especially appreciated how considerate and caring she was throughout. Looking forward to booking with her again soon!

Justine is a fantastic sitter and left me without worry while she housesat with our fur babies for a few nights. She is a clear communicator and took very good care of our three Australian Shepherds. On top of the excellent care, she also left our house in great shape for our return.

Analicia did a great job watching my dog and three cats for two nights in my home. This is the second time we had her pet sit and both times she has sent regular updates and tons of pictures. She was great with our dog and cats, playing with them and giving lots of pets. One of our cats settled right into her lap. Analicia left everything clean (and even did dishes - wow!) and we would love to have her pet sit again in the future!

Gretchen was so great with my dogs! I feel like she really cared about their needs & spent time with them. My doodle usually doesn’t go on walks with sitters & barely eats when I’m gone, but he walked with her the first night & all throughout! The house was clean when we got home & she sent pics & updates through the stay. Excited to have her again!

Lilly was SO great! I have two dogs between 50 & 70lbs that are sweet, but both have their quorks.. my ‘mamma’s boy’ doodle usually will not go on walks with sitters, but he walked twice a day with Lilly! That means she was spending the time to be sweet with him and earn his trust, I was so happy to see him on walks & cuddling with her! She updated us & left the house looking great, I fully recommend Lilly! Thank you!
