About: I grew up with my Australian Shepherd, who was part of my family my entire life, and I helped care for her throughout her senior years. I now have my own cat, Emerald, and my family recently welcomed a terrier puppy named Edna. I also have experience caring for friends’ cats, as well as a neighbor’s and family friend’s Chihuahua and a family’s Golden Retriever. I’m comfortable caring for both cats and dogs, including pets with different personalities and energy levels. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive, and I take pride in providing the same loving care I would want for my own pets. I’ll be leaving my medical assistant position as I prepare to start PA school next year, so I’ll have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week, including weekends. I’m able to spend quality time with pets rather than simply stopping by, and I’m happy to work around their individual routines and needs. About: Hello! My name is Karissa and I am a big animal lover. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and have always enjoyed spending time with and caring for them. I have trained and competed in agility with my Australian shepherds, and I have worked with and trained dogs of all ages. I have also cared for and loved many cats (both my own and for clients and friends). When I played varsity polo for Virginia Tech, my team was charge of all aspects of care for our 16 horses during the school year. I have ridden and cared for over 100 horses since I was young. Through these experiences, I have administered medications, handled behavioral issues, fed a variety of foods, and cared for and diagnosed illnesses and injuries. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their favorite people are away. Your pet should feel like they are on vacation too! I am available and excited to care for your pets on any schedule that works best for them! My schedule is quite flexible right now. Because I offer care in your home, I strive to ensure that you and your pets feel safe, respected, and cared for. I emphasize safety, privacy, cleanliness, and happy animals. Especially with the temporary change in caregiver, I believe it is extremely important to maintain the routine your pets are used to while you are away, with maybe a couple extra treats (with permission, of course) :) Above all, I adhere to the care rules and instructions given to me, because you know your pets better than anyone.

About: I have volunteered at Humane Societies with all kinds of pets because animals are my passion, and have had pets for almost 30 years. I currently have had a wonderful cat named Latte for 6 years and I couldn't live without her. I am available during the day to walk your dog or take it to play at a dog park, or check in on your cat and give it plenty of love, food, and attention. I make sure the pets I look after are cared for like my own, and their safety, comfort, and security are a top concern of mine.

About: Hi! I have always loved animals. I have had dogs my entire life since we adopted my first dog, a black lab, from the humane society when I was 5. I have also volunteered at the humane society for many years on a regular basis. I am home full time right now and my priority is giving the animals I look after the best possible care and of course lots of love! I just want them to be happy and comfortable with me. About: I have had 6 dogs throughout my life, 2 of my own, and have helped care for them as well as many others. I have even volunteered at a local pet shelter near my house where I helped feed, bathe, and play with many animals. I love playing with dogs and going for walks as well as runs if they are able. I don't mind doing the dirty work such as bathing them or picking up poop and always am concerned with the well being of the animal. I love cuddling with all animals and giving them the love they need while their owners are away. I am usually pretty available durning the day and at nights, but if something comes up I will be sure to take care of the animal(s) in a timely manner. I currently have 2 dogs and cannot host any other animals in my home, but do not mind going to the pets home. I have experience working with special needs animals and administering medications. My own dogs have a crazy meal regime so I don’t mind dealing with any extra meal preparations. I work from home so I have plenty of flexibility to work from wherever. My partner and I tag team with our own dogs so they will be cared for so I can see to your pets needs. Again, my home is unavailable to host any other animals, however I don’t mind going to your home to watch your pet(s). I don’t need much, just a place to sleep and I’m sure I can figure out the rest as long as your pet has everything it needs. I have worked with special needs animals and can administer medication as needed.

This time, we loved getting photos of our cat weaving her way between Em's legs, nuzzling her face, etc. during twice-a-day visits.
