BIG or small I walk them ALL!Austin, TX

I have owned dogs my whole life and have worked with the very large to the very small. I am also willing to do drop ins for cats! I have a good understanding of the needs of the brachiocephalic dog populations and their special needs and considerations. I currently have a dog with a siezure disorder so I understand how important good quality supervision is in order to keep them safe. I am also comfortable administering medications and caring for high needs dogs. I work very close (10 min away) to my home so frequent potty breaks are not an issue.

I have been fostering/walking/running and caring for dogs informally in my home for the last 5 years and have recently decided to take it to the next level and turn my hobby into a business. I will walk and care for your dogs at pretty much at any time that you require.

Dog Loving FamilyAustin, TX

I work from home and am also taking online classes, which keep me at home most of the time. I have five children, ages seventeen, twelve, eleven, nine and three. I have an eleven year old cairn terrier named Doggie who is like my sixth child (technically my forth child, she came before the last two kids) and a brand new puppy named Fancy, who is a Catahoula Cur and the sweetest little girl ever. We have been dog sitting for so long now that we have a pretty good system down and our house is pretty dog proof. We are all huge dog lovers and can't wait for the opportunity to play with and care for your fur baby. One thing that I can guarantee is that your pup definitely won't be lacking any love or attention in this house!

I Sit, they Stay, you Play!Austin, TX

My name is Sam and I am an avid animal lover with 3 dogs of my own. My tiny humans and dogs are my priority. I'm happy to add your pup to my list of priorities as well. I currently stay at home with the kids and my pups, so having your furchild stay with us means extra attention and around the clock supervision!

I keep plenty of toys & healthy treats on hand, (thanks to Barkbox! - Ask for my link for 1 FREE Box), so all I usually need you to bring is your pup, their food and bed/blanket are optional. If you would like to bring a crate, check with me first, as I may have your pup's size available to use. (The bigger ones can be a pain to lug around!)

If you have any questions/concerns, don't hesitate to ask . I look forward to meeting you and your furbaby soon!

**Follow my Instagram account, sams_stay_n_play for picture updates of my 3 pups and even yours as well! (If you don't have Instagram, don't worry, I send text pictures/updates)

Devoted Dog LoverAustin, TX

Hi, I am Sandra, a devoted dog lover. I live with my husband who adores dogs. Our home is clean, comfortable and smoke-free. We have a good size back yard, big enough to play ball, throw Frisbee, and run round. Our backyard fences is secure, almost 9 feet in height. We have a patio with a gazebo which provides plenty of shade all year round. The neighborhood is family oriented and safe to walk dogs. Also, nearby is Mary Moore Searight Park which is huge with awesome trails, a great environment to walk dogs who are trained & does not pull.

About this sitter:

I had a family dog growing up in Australia. Eventually I got myself an Australian Shepherd, Bondi, who became trained as a certified hearing dog in Florida. She became my "ears". For e.g. when the doorbell rang or the alarm clock chimed, she would let me know by touching my hand or arm with her nose. Sadly, she passed on a few years ago. During my grieving period I volunteered my time at the Austin Humane Society. It was the best experience! I signed up with Rover and am excited to be around dogs again. I would love to mingle with your dog(s) while you are away. I am Deaf but can speak and lip read although some people may be a little harder to understand than others. We can use gestures/write notes etc. My husband is hearing and uses sign language to communicate with me. As a devoted dog sitter, you will find me friendly & reliable. I may not be able to hear but I am very visual when I am around dogs.

Why I love dog sitting

I have been a dog lover since childhood. Dogs make me feel mellow and I get really excited whenever I see them. The atmosphere in our home is warm, loving and consistent. I walk dogs daily, usually 2 or 3 times depending on the dogs' needs. I make every effort to balance my time around them so that they will feel safe and comfortable. It is especially fun with a dog or 2 in our household, taking pictures so families can view them on Rover site.

Currently my husband and I do not have any pets except for a cockatiel bird, Dusty, who is secured in his own cage. Right now my main priority is watching dogs through Rover as it continues to be a rewarding experience for me.

My experience administering medication

I am comfortable administering pill form of medication but am not trained to give them injections. However, I have a current Certificate for Pet CPR & First Aid.

Sonia's Mutterly Haven WestgateSouth Austin, austin, TX

Hi there, my name is Sonia and I am a HUGE animal lover. I recently lost my beloved Lucy who was my heart and soul of 10 years. I miss her dearly and would love the opportunity to give my time and affection to any and all cute pups while their moms and dads are away. I have had experience with dogs of all shapes, sizes and temperaments and have owned dogs all my life. Lucy had a variety of health and behavioral issues so that is something I am not opposed to dealing with. I also spent some time working at a kennel years back and it was one of the most rewarding, happiest times of my life. My boyfriend and I love the outdoors and frequenting the city if your dog likes to be out and about. So if you want the comfort of knowing your dog is being showered with affection and has a safe place to rest and play I'm your gal!

Work at Home Dog Pro w/ Huge Yard!Austin, TX

Dogs are beloved family here. We are a roomy, smoke-free, dog-loving home with a huge, fenced, back yard, a doggie door, and plenty of walks. I work from home and take the care of your beloved pup very seriously and professionally, and love every minute of it! When your dog is with me, s/he is loved and adored like my own.

The house is minutes off of I-35, very easy access to and from the airport. If you are traveling by plane, it's easy to drop off and pick up your furry friend here!

Dogs enjoy lots of walks as well as a large, securely-fenced back yard. Play time is supervised and I never charge extra for walks. It's what we do! :)

When not walking or out playing, your dog might be lounging and feeling comfortable in a very dog friendly house, getting snuggles, belly rubs and loving being on vacation.

I have had dogs, literally, since the day I was born (I'm in my 40's now), and feel like a house is not a home without at least one...

Although not a certified trainer, I have learned and conducted a significant amount of dog training. I've gained a very good understanding of how dogs think, what they need, and how to make them feel totally loved and secure. I am comfortable being a loving, attentive, affectionate, yet consistent pack leader so that your dogs feel safe, secure, and totally loved.

Your dog will be loved, cared for, exercised and adored while s/he is with me! I truly love em all like my own.

HOW MUCH ARE YOU HOME?

I work from home so I'm around a LOT, and dogs get multiple walks per day if desired. I structure days around the dogs' needs-- take play breaks, walk breaks, hang out in the yard, and more. Water bowls are always full.

EMERGENCIES:

Working from home means I'm also ready to go with a dependable SUV just in case of an emergency. I live 10 minutes from a highly regarded 24-hour emergency vet if needed.

DOGS IN THE HOUSE?

Currently, one 9 year old Ridgeback mix (male/neutered) who is often referred to our "Rover Ambassador". He loves our Rover guests! Whether as playmates or nap buddies, he's amazing at gauging his interaction with other animals to their individual personalities. He will play if they are interested or just hang out if they're not. He enjoys playing, walks, trips to the park, sleeping (he's a master at sleeping) or just laying around, and is happy to do all of those things with your pup.

MEDICATIONS?

No problem. Happy to administer meds and completely comfortable with it.

No extra fee.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS?

However your pup is most comfortable. We have dog beds or you can bring your own. Couches and people beds are allowed, too. I will keep them off the furniture if that is what you do at home. ;)

When I host dogs, I treat them like family, while also employing utmost safety practices, optimal engagement for each dog's needs, and of course, shower them with love.

I look forward to meeting yours and welcoming him/her into our dog-loving home.

Meet my pets

Huck is a sweet rescue who is 80 pounds of love... a Ridgeback mix who was found on the streets of South Austin at 4 years old, he loves everyone and really enjoys playing with all of the Rover friends.

About my yard

I have a large, securely-fenced back yard, no holes, no gaps. It's a wide-open space where dogs are free to run around, lay in the sun, or take care of business.

Play time is supervised.

Paws Retreat! $20 OFF first stayBuda, TX

Recently moved to a brand new house in Sunfield (Buda)! The house has a private large patio for pets. At home I provide cameras SURVEILLANCE 24/7!

EXCLUSIVE sitting service, meaning that your family member will be our ONLY GUEST at the time, the exception is when owners request a boarding service for brothers or sisters already living together.

Dogs coming from different families don't always get along and it's already stressful enough to change their environment by boarding.

By taking 1 pup at a time, all my attention will be on your pet's activities and behavior, also gives me time to walk them, supervise them and give them tons of love; and most important of all, that's how Paws Retreat prevents possible dogfights and/or injuries between my guests and to myself.

I offer a HIGH STANDARD and proper care for your pet. They will enjoy every relaxing activity, having them supervised at all times and following every instruction you leave me while you are away, including special food preparation, wet food mix and medications.

I encourage you to read my very descriptive reviews, they speak for themselves about the type of work I do. Also you can check the percentage of pictures I will send to you through the stay..Paws Retreat has a HIGH QUALITY CARE for your family member!

IMPORTANT:

I have been trained to perform dog CPR and First Aid if something ever happens during the stay, and I have experience taking care and administering medication to pets as a volunteer of the Austin Humane Society for a long time.

I am available for sitting, boarding and grooming. I have a flexible schedule and I am available during the day, afternoon, night and weekends.

I also give oatmeal baths , ear cleansing and nail trim (GROOMING PACKAGE) upon request, usually the owners ask for this package the day they will pick their pets up so they go home all clean and refreshed.

When sitting, your pet and I will go for at least 4 potty breaks a day: as soon as they wake up in the morning, at noon after lunch, in the afternoon after a play date and at night before they go to bed (after dinner). I also have a secured LARGE patio in the back where they can hang out, run and play under my supervision.

I love going to the dog park, as well as trying new places to entertain your loved one. So, if there is a specific place your pet likes to go I can accommodate.

If you have a cat instead of a dog, I haven't forgot about you! I have some clients who asked me to take care of their lovely kittens. They can stay at my house, I'll feed them, clean their litter box, pet them, play with them and make sure they have fresh water available at all times. I can also visit them to their home and spoil them.

PICK-UP and DROP-OFF:

My schedule is very flexible and I adapt to YOURS. One of the reasons you use this sitting service is because you want to relax during your vacation and no need to worry about drop-off/pick-up timing, otherwise you would have chose a kennel.

You can bring your pet as early as 7AM and pick him/her up as late as 10PM ANY DAY. I don't charge extra for keeping them a couple of hours with me, I like their company and I do this because I enjoy it.

As a pet owner and a traveling person, I understand and know that you want to be with your pet the sooner you can and I won't put any pressure on your timing. *Other hours can be worked out if necessary and last minute extended days are available upon request.

NOTE: If you decide to book me, just ask me in a message for $20 OFF your first stay and I will give you a special code for the discount.

Looking forward to care for your special one! :)

About this sitter:

I am a researcher at UT Austin who has been taking good care of pets with Rover.com since January 2013 and it has been a blessing to me, getting to know all these amazing guests with different personalities, sizes, breeds and behaviors. So far I've had 725 CONFIRMED BOOKINGS! (As of December 2019)

During your pet's stay with me you will receive pictures of them directly to you phone or email (I do respect customer's privacy and as a dog owner, I wouldn't like my pet pictures all over the internet without my permission), so you can know that your pet is enjoying his/her time and that they are safe and sound. *NOTE: if you travel overseas, you will receive e-mails with pictures and updates on your love one.

I have purchased the Rover Protection Package that consists of Vet Assistance for your pet, a nationwide pet identification system with live operators and a piece of mind for both parts (you and me).

I look forward to taking excellent care of your special one!
