I’ll be there when you need me!

I grew up caring for dogs of different shapes and sizes as well as other small pets like hamsters and fish. I’ve also had a cockatiel as well as love birds. My family and I love to board pets since we don’t currently have any, but that’s just more attention to share with yours.

Edwin & his family take excellent care of my dog. He sends me regular updates and photos. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Edwin and his family took great care of our dog for almost 2 weeks. He sent plenty of updates and responded in a timely manner with any communications. Despite communicating our boundaries and rules for our dog with previous dogs sitters, our dog would come back home with unwanted behaviors. However, our dog came back home from this family without behavioral issues to tackle, so that was greatly appreciated. Overall, we will book with Edwin and his family again and appreciate them caring for our dog while we were away from some time.

Edwin provided such a great experience for our best boy while my family had to travel. This was my first time using Rover and I’m so glad that the app was recommended and we found Edwin. Edwin sent photos, communicated great and even accommodated my request to do a meet and greet before confirming a reservation. I honestly couldn’t say enough good things about Edwin and Charlie’s stay with him and his family — 10 out of 10 and highly recommend to anyone local to Kyle.

Edwin was great. Sent pictures multiple times a day of the dog on walks and enjoying treats. I would use Edwin again and again.

Edwin and family took wonderful care of our dog Petra while we were away for a few days. Edwin provided plenty of updates along with pictures and videos which reaffirmed how comfortable she was in their home. I highly recommend them and by how relaxed and happy Petra was when we picked her up, I believe she would as well!

We left our dog Stanley with Edwin and his wonderful family for a 9-day stay, and they did a fantastic job! Edwin kept us updated with photos and messages, showing Stanley eating, getting brushed, going on walks, and settling in. Anytime I checked in, Edwin was quick to respond and always communicative. We had a great feeling about the stay after a meet-and-greet with Edwin and his family a week before our trip. From the moment we arrived, Edwin took the leash and was confidently in control of Stanley. We’ve done meet-and-greets before where the sitter gives your dog a few pats and focuses more on chatting with you. This was more like a test drive, where Edwin paid close attention to how Stanley handled the new environment. It gave us real peace of mind knowing they took the responsibility seriously and that Stanley would be well cared for while we were away. Stanley is pretty easy going... until it thunders. Then he becomes very anxious. Unfortunately, there were a few storms while we were away. We left medication to help, but it takes awhile to kick in and it sometimes only takes the edge off. If you have a dog like this, you feel pretty helpless during these storms. There is no magic fix. You make them as comfortable as possible, but the only way "out" is getting through the storm. Edwin was proactive with the medication, and along with his family, helped Stanley ride out those storms as well as we could have ourselves. We’re grateful to Edwin and his family for taking such great care of Stanley and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter.

Schedule

I am a personal trainer / nutrition coach with a very early morning / some evenings schedule. I have gaps in my day that I use to do drop in visits when many are working away from home. I’m usually up and moving at 3:30a, back home by 6a, and work from home most of the day, with some meetings away from home from time to time. We go down around 8:30p to get ready for the next day and get some sleepy time.

Safety, trust & environment

Our home has a fenced in backyard for them to play in and pups are free to roam inside. In your home I will respect whatever boundaries are set. In our home we tend to keep people places separate from pup places, so typically we don’t allow them on couches, and definitely not beds. We do keep individual rooms off limits. Normally we do not feed them people food unless it’s provided by the owner as we don’t want to encourage hanging out under the table or in the kitchen. For boarding at our home *we prefer crate trained pups* as they need boundaries and their own space to help them be comfortable in a new environment. They may behave one way at your home and a totally different way somewhere else, and it’s best to lean more cautiously to prevent any unexpected mischief and / or damage. Under certain circumstances we can work with a dog that is not crate trained, but we need to meet them first and they need to be super mellow. We’ve had a few escape artists who have gotten into things and even caused some damage. I have a very early morning schedule and knowing exactly where the pup is located is very helpful in the dark. We also have an older family member living with us as well, so we want to avoid as many late night surprises as possible. We are a very mellow family that is home a lot due to the type of work we do. If your pup is SUPER high energy and needs lots of activity, constant attention and wants to go outside every five minutes we may not be the best fit for you as we spend a lot of time doing crafts, reading, drawing, stuff like that. Our jobs are very active so when we are home we like to rest and chill out with the animal guests.

A typical day

I love to walk with them as it gives them exercise and gives me some time to enjoy the outdoors. We play a lot of fetch. Outdoors is usually where the play happens, especially things like tug of war or throwing and catching. We want outdoors to be the place where the energy is released and indoors a calm environment. We take alot of pictures and videos to share with the owners. Sometimes we will even make a special video of all the things we are doing to give parents peace of mind. Our girls love hanging out with our guests and give lots of hugs and interactions. Sometimes the dogs will come upstairs where I work and hang out and maybe nap (it is the boring part of my job, after all).

Let me know if your pet has any special needs. I can generally deal with the normal concerns, but if there are any other things I need to be aware of, please fill me in and I’ll do what I can to be helpful. Please be as detailed as possible with the care descriptions. Everything you can think of would be helpful so I don’t start free styling and make a mistake and feed too much / too little or whatever. Please provide toys and poop bags. *PERSONAL ASK* Please do not send me a request if you are not sure if you actually need my services. I try to respond as quickly as possible if I’m available. There have been plenty of instances of responding to a request only to either never hear back from the owner or be told they’ve chosen someone else. I’ve missed out on opportunities trying to save dates for people who never respond, which is pretty uncool. While I understand casting the widest net possible, and I want you to find what you need, I’d really appreciate the chance to not be one of many options. If that dissuades you from choosing me, I totally understand. Just know when I say I will be there for your pet when you need me, that’s exactly what I mean. Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to working with you ☺️
