“Sarah was lovely and went above and beyond in taking care of our little crew. She provided excellent photos and updates and did things she didn’t have to like scooping the litter. Would unequivocally recommend her to anyone that needs a sitter!”

About: I have been reliable pet sitter for friends, family, and neighbors for the past few years. I love hanging with out with everyone's furry friends for walks, overnight, or just quick check ins. I am teacher who is off for summer break and want to help those in my community care for there furry friends as they travel or maybe have a beach day! I have a large fenced in backyard for your fur baby to run around and play in. I also live close to a dog park and the beach so we can have so much fun! I also have a sweet pup who enjoys playing with others.
“Shyloh is so great! I would definitely have her watch my fur babies again, I had no worries at all leaving them with her. She was prompt and made sure they were well cared for! She even made sure their dishes were cleaned for when we got home.”

About: Hello! I have grown up with more pets than people in my household, and that has served me well. I am capable of handling multiple dogs on walks (there’s nothing more comical than juggling multiple leashes) and caring for both cats and dogs. I was an assistant in therapy dog training and puppy training for four years (Teamworks in Raleigh), and this has provided me with cognitive and behavioral insight into dogs. I also have taken care of dogs around my neighborhood growing up. My philosophy with pets is that they make the owner feel better and vice versa. I promise to take care of your pets as I would my own: with love, respect, and as much exercise as they deserve. I look forward to working with you. I work full time remotely, so have flexibility to take care of your pet’s needs. My weekend availability varies but my calendar will be up to date. I will take care of your pet in your home, where they will be most comfortable. I am also available for drop-ins, or walks while you are at work, or other non-stay related activities.
“Nolan was on time and communicative throughout the whole process including scheduling, confirming how to access the house and the actual drop-in. I was notified when he arrived, he sent multiple pictures and I was notified when he was leaving. I asked Nolan to give Alfie some treats when he left to keep him calm, and all went well and I got to enjoy my day away without having to worry about Alfie at all.”

About: I have two French Bulldogs and a Weimaraner, so I’m very used to energetic dogs and love helping them get their energy out through walks and play. I’ve also pet-sat many times before for both cats and dogs, and I always enjoy spending time with furry friends! I’m responsible, attentive, and make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just giving them attention, I’m always happy to help! I will be able to walk and provide check ups with your furry friends throughout the summer! Since I am still in school and dealing with volleyball, I am busy during the school year but try to go all out in the summer! My schedule may vary though due to visits, or school ball, but I will be in touch and update my calendar regularly, especially with clients! I love to take my dogs out on walks, it’s one of my favorite things to do. Either on the beach or on trails around the island, I just enjoy giving my dogs exercise. I will also do the same for other dogs I walk! I also love just playing and spending time with my pets, I will give the upmost care for your kitten or pup!
“McKenna dis a great job caring for my 3 cats while we were away. She visited twice each day and provided medication to one of my cats. They were very relaxed and happy when we got home”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, lizards and birds since I was 10! Our family has three dogs, one that I’ve personally trained since she was a puppy. “I knew from the meet and greet that Lexi Ann would be a great fit for Mac. She was punctual, did everything I asked, and Mac was well-cared for while I was gone. I got pics to know my pup was doing well. I would recommend Lexi Ann and will certainly use her again when the need arises.”

Mary did a fantastic job with a check in visit on my dog Max. Being an energetic Rat Terrier I don’t like leaving him for long periods of time. She walked him and played with in our backyard. It gave me peace of mind that he was being so well taken care of! I highly recommend her and will be using her again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
