From the first moment we met, I knew that "we had a match" for my dog. All the pictures and updates from Maegan were reassuring and it was clear to see that things were going very well. She clearly loves all dogs and is very attentive and in tune with their moods and actions. Her home and fenced yard were secure, safe, comfortable and very welcoming. My one concern going into this was that Maegan has small children and my dog hasn't been around many. But I expressed my unnecessary concern and learned that her kids are as professional, sensitive and loving of dogs as their parents. Five stars doesn't seem like enough!”

About: I’ve loved animals my entire life. Growing up, our family always had dogs and cats, and as an adult, I’ve had the privilege of caring for two blind rescue dogs, as well as my current lovable 16-pound Aussiedoodle, Zoey. Zoey lives with me and gets along well with other dogs. For the past 2½ years, I’ve owned and operated a dog-walking and cat-care business, caring for a variety of neighborhood pets. My experience includes three 19-year-old cats, two medium and large Doodles, a Dachshund I’ve cared for since he was just 10 weeks old, and dogs of many different mixed breeds, ages, and personalities. My approach is to always let the animal lead. Both of my rescue dogs came from very difficult circumstances, and I learned how important patience, trust, and a sense of safety are. Rather than expecting an animal to immediately feel comfortable with me, I give them the time and space they need to open up on their own. With a calm, loving, and safe environment, that trust usually begins to develop naturally. I’m especially comfortable with animals who may be shy, fearful, cautious, or unsure of strangers. I take a very gentle approach, allowing them to get to know me at their own pace. Once they feel safe and comfortable, that’s when the magic unfolds! I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine, whether that means sleeping in a crate at night or curling up on the bed. I live in a first-floor apartment facing a nice open green space, which makes it easy to provide frequent potty breaks and neighborhood walks. With pet-parent permission, it’s my norm to send daily updates and photos so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away. I’m also comfortable administering medications and handling foods that require refrigeration or freezing. My schedule is fairly flexible, and I do my best to accommodate each pet’s individual routine and needs. Just let me know what works best for you and your pet! I am currently retired so I am home most of the day/night. I live with my 16 lb non-shedding Aussie doogle dog, Zoey. I may step out to run errands, go to an appointment, other, but am otherwise at home. I allow dogs to sleep on my bed or stay in a crate at night, per pet parents wishes. If you are traveling and require a pick up after 6 pm just let me know so we can work something out. I live in an apartment on the first floor, so I have easy access to let dogs out for potty breaks as I face an open green space. I live in a safe community with plenty of sidewalks and street lighting. I often walk my dog clients in the morning when it is cool outside, so they can get adequate exercise. I am capable of handling multiple dogs on walks (there’s nothing more comical than juggling multiple leashes) and caring for both cats and dogs. I was an assistant in therapy dog training and puppy training for four years (Teamworks in Raleigh), and this has provided me with cognitive and behavioral insight into dogs. I have been blessed to care for many dogs, a half dozen cats, fish, hamsters, 3 baby squirrels and a hedgehog at my home and in others. Dogs are fully welcome on all furniture, so they can stretch out, nap, and feel right at home. Whether your pup needs a workout partner or a cozy lap to sleep on while I work, they’ll get plenty of attention, affection, and care. I have one female Plott hound, she is 4. She is very good at matching energy! If your dog wants to play, cuddle, or be left alone, she will do the same. Your dog will never be left alone with my dog under any circumstances. Fully remote with leaving for the gym once a day, I have a large cage that can be used when I’m not home. Your dog will never be left unattended with my dog, at the least they will be locked in separate rooms I have a fenced yard, can go out as much as possible! My yard does get treated for fleas ticks and chiggers. A lot of grass to roll in!

About: I have always had either a cat or dog. I recently had to say goodbye to our cat and lost my dachshund about 2 years ago. My son and I are not ready to get another pet of our own but, we would like to take care of your pet as we would our own. I understand the needs of animals and have worked jobs/volunteered where animal welfare was a top priority. I am also enrolled in a dog training program at UNCW and volunteer working with puppies. When an animal is in my care it’s welfare will be my top priority meaning making sure your pet is safe, secure, fed on their normal schedule, have had adequate exercise for their activity level and whatever other needs your pet requires. I currently have Wednesday and Friday mornings off so I can take your dog on morning walks those days. And I have mostly all Evenings open after 6 for a night walk. I live by two walking trails and close to the beach if your dog likes the beach it’s a quick drive I am used to walking morning and night that has always been my dog walk schedule and distance is always depended on dogs fitness level
About: Hello! I have grown up with more pets than people in my household, and that has served me well. I am capable of handling multiple dogs on walks (there’s nothing more comical than juggling multiple leashes) and caring for both cats and dogs. I was an assistant in therapy dog training and puppy training for four years (Teamworks in Raleigh), and this has provided me with cognitive and behavioral insight into dogs. About: I can not resist dogs. They are so sweet! I would be happy to come to your home or have your pet come to me! My experience is mostly with large dogs but love the little ones too. I have experience watching cats, fish and turtles as well.
