“Cory has great communication and both our dogs enjoyed walking with him. Our puppy had boundless energy and Cory met it with enthusiasm and patience!”

About: I am an experienced pet sitter with both personal and professional experience with animals of all species, temperaments, age, and health status. I have multiple years of experience in both emergency and general practice clinics and am thus confident in my ability to handle pets, distribute medication as needed, and recognize and respond to emergencies. Any animal in my care will be treated as my baby! ❤️ As a veterinary student, my schedule offers flexibility due to lunch breaks and large gaps between classes. I would love to share my daily study-break walks with your furry friend or spend the weekend with a study buddy while you’re away. I am unable to have a dog of my own right now and would be absolutely THRILLED to spend time with yours! My priority is always the animal’s safety and comfort. Whether that means showering your pet with lots of love or respecting their personal space, my goal is to provide your pet with a positive experience in my care.

“Jessica was great! She took time out of her night to come visit Koda the night before she walked him and see how they did with each other! She was also a great walker and was willing to just hang out with him outside of his kennel and play with his toys! We will definitely be going back to Jessica again!”

“He is an excellent young man that does very well with my two large dogs and that is saying something! They can be very hard to handle! Highly recommend him! Very polite and professional as well!”

“Ash was spectacular with our dogs! Walks were exactly when requested, dogs were treated great and looked soo happy! Definitely rebooking for my next trip out of town!”

“Brad did a great job walking our Mini-American Shepherd last week. He was on time and patient with our bundle of energy dog. Appreciate the good work!”

“Very friendly and my dog loves her now lol”

“I was able to book Troy on short notice, which was very helpful. He was prompt, friendly, and my dog was instantly comfortable with him. I’d definitely recommend Troy and plan to book him again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of my own and other's cats and dogs for years, from feeding, to exercising and of course plenty of clean up occasions. Not only have I managed a family home with both cats and dogs, but I also showed one of my dogs for AKC confirmation and graduated with another one of my dogs from obedience classes. I bottle fed two of my cats when they were infants and have cared for both cats and dogs into their senior, twilight years. I even cared for one of my senior dogs after she became deaf and blind. Just recently I helped usher my beloved 15-year-old cat across the rainbow. She was the last of my own pets. I have experience with dispensing oral medications and insulin shots to cats and dogs from very young pets as well as aging ones. In my professional life I was very organized, detailed oriented and practiced great communication skills. I will bring all this experience to the care and feeding of your beloved animals. I've experienced so much with my own and other folks’ pets, but now my two dogs and two-cat-household is feeling a little empty. So please let me offer my heart and hands to care for your dear fur babies. I am recently retired and have some on-going activities and appointments, but I also have quite a bit of freedom to determine my own schedule and be flexible. I have time and availability for daily visits, dog walking, or even in your household for overnight care. In your home I can offer feeding visits, occasional visits, dog walking, and if required, overnight at your home. Let's me know what you need to care best for your pet.

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time.between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. I have 3 dogs of my own, all of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. I don't work a regular job, I care for my elderly father and do some side work here and there. So I am available for walking or drop in visits at a moments notice. I have a fenced in yard and food and treats at the ready. Many leashes and brushes and more. I have 3 dogs of my own that love to play with each other and yours too. I can also keep my dogs away if yours isn't socialized to others.

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, of all shapes and sizes. I love all animals. I’ve grown up with hunting dogs, big dogs, farm animals, and cats. I am always willing to go for midday lunch walks or weekend check ins while you are out and about being social (in the Ankeny/Polk City area). My boyfriend works blue collar, so sometimes I have a lot of time to myself while he’s working, I’d love to fill in with walks at night or weekends in the Highland Park/Saylor/Beaverdale areas. Some nights he may even join if he’s home. We have a two dogs of our own that could join, pending your permission of course. I am always very cautious when going in for my furry friends for walks, making sure they are safe. I’m full of love and attention and energy to burn so I’d love a buddy. I’ve worked with highly trained dogs, and will honor any and all training your dogs follows.

About: I'm excited to be there for your pet in whatever way you need. I have been pet and house sitting for years and will watch your animals with care 💕 I work downtown from 8:30 to 5 but I have flexibility when I take my lunch break. On Fridays, I have the option to work remote. I can beat assist with pet care before or after work and on weekends. I am able to do walks and check inside around the lunch hour. I can't offer to host pets at my home, but I'm happy to follow whatever guidelines clients set. I want to make sure your pets are comfortable and well cared for.

About: We lost our beloved dog "Chester" in 2022 and our home has felt empty ever since. Both my husband & I have grown up with dogs & we loved playing, walking and cuddling w/Chester. The unconditional love he provided to our family was priceless. My husband & I are empty nesters as of last fall, 2023 & we are available to care and watch your dog on a weekday or weekend.. Your dog will be loved in our home as much as it is in your home. We will thoroughly enjoy spoiling it like it is our own pet! We live downtown Des Moines & will be able to walk your dog regularly to near by parks/Grays Lake. I like to know what the sleep/feeding schedule of your dog is, as well as any tricks they know, the time between bathroom breaks, and how the interact with other dogs.

“This was our first time using Rover and Monica made the process so easy. She sent us notes and lots of pictures at every visit. She took cues from our dog on how far she could walk at each visit depending on the weather and then spent time cuddling our Boston Terrier too (which is just as important for our dog as exercise). We were out of town and never had to worry if things were going well! Our family highly recommends Monica for your pet walking/sitting needs!!”

“Chelsie you went above and beyond to make sure my pups were treated with royalty. I have never seen my dogs get so excited to see someone, not even when I get home. Chelsie supplied lots of pictures of the walks and the most detailed summary which was always a pleasure to read. She really cares and extremely thoughtful, would never hesitate to book with her anytime I need help. Thank you so much Chelsie!”

“Andrea is our go-to dog sitter and worth every penny. Our dog takes medication, is now deaf and sometimes goes on walks. Andrea is amazing, sends pictures all the time and makes our vacations relaxing because I don’t have to worry about any issues at home.”

About: I have 7 years of experience working with senior dogs who need a little extra care when it comes to medications and transportation. I am able to lift 140 lbs to help the forever puppies with powder sugar faces. I am currently between jobs after graduating and have plenty of time to go on “w.a.l.k’s” or play with pups! I have a lot of availability! I am very responsible when it comes to pet care and I am on call 24/7 for any pet needs. I keep a tight schedule for medications and have a keen eye for pill tricksters.

About: I’ve loved being a mom to my rescue pup who recently passed away. I now work from home nearly full time and would love to love on your pup while you are away! I have flexibility to go for frequent walks and potty breaks and have tons of grass around to sniff and explore! I’ll love your pet like I love my own pup. I recently volunteered with KC Pet Project before moving back to Des Moines and have fostered a variety of breeds logging more than 100 hours in my first few months before adopting two more senior rescues Nov 2023. After I rescued them, I took a break from Rover to allow them to fully settle into their new environment. It’s been over a year since they came into my care so excited to get Rovering again! I only have 2 Rover pups at a time (boarding and/or daycare) to be able to provide the care and attention your pet needs and have a size restriction to small to medium dogs. My two senior dachshunds enjoy cozy blankets and napping on heating pads so a pups who enjoys a calm environment is a good fit for us. Be prepared for lots of photos and updates throughout the day! I work full-time but am 90% remote so I can let your dog out frequently. Happy to go for walks and explore the park near us! I can easily crate your pup and they are welcome to snuggle on the furniture or sleep in the bed (will crate if that is their routine). I have no kids in my home and it’s a pretty relaxed and quiet environment. We have dog ramps for Ang pup needing them.

“Natasha is fabulous with Tulip. Very aware of her needs such as if it's too hot outside. Tulip loves her and the walk time. Highly recommend.”

About: I've only lived with pets for a short time, but really enjoyed taking care of them in that time! I am a behavior analyst with some background in animal behavior, and very much enjoy being around pets! I have lived with and helped care for dogs, cats, rats, and small lizards in the past. I currently work full time, so care will typically occur either in the early mornings, or in the evenings, typically after 5 pm, as well as on weekends. I can also do overnights as well. I will provide services in the pet's home, no travel needed! I follow instructions very well, and will provide a caring and safe environment for your pets, including feeding, walking, and playtime.

Natalie K.
“Natalie has stayed with my 2 boys several times. She did a fantastic job caring for my older pup with complicated medical needs as well as balancing the activity and cuddle needs of my puppy. I love the soft spot she has for senior pets and the love she gave equally to both of my pups. I came home to 2 happy boys and a clean home. It gave me such peace of mind while I had to be out of town. Natalie is at the top of my list for dog/housesitters.”

Dawn B.Star Sitter
“Cats and dogs are definitely Dawn’s specialty when it comes to pet-sitting duties. Our family left the country for a week and we had no doubt that our pets would be cleaned up after, walked, fed properly, and given the same structure we practice while we were gone. She also stayed in our home which was perfectly tidy when we returned home from vacation. Her communication and organization were both very appreciated.”

Madison B.
“Madison loves all animals. She is patient and caring. She currently takes care of our 3 dogs. She has had pets her entire life she understands what they need. She is the only one who can brush our Great pyrenees. She would be very helpful with caring for any pet.”

Megan E.
“We've trusted Megan to watch all of our pets over the years, between the geriatric seniors a few years ago which required lots of patience and paper towels, and our big enthusiastic doofus we have now. She's taken our dog on runs to work off some energy, she's spent hours on the couch with him because he's clingy, and sent us thoughtful photos to keep us updated. I can't say enough good things about her and would recommend her to anyone :)”

Jill & Dino C.
“Jill loves animals especially dogs....she always says no animal loves humans more then dogs! This is so true and know she means it every time she says it.”

Rylee M.
“Rylee is an incredibly kind person who is absolutely amazing with pets of all kinds!! I have never met someone who is better with animals than her. They are great with meeting pets with where they are, respecting boundaries and encouraging growth and training habits. Rylee is also a great communicator and incredibly trustworthy regardless of the situation. Pets also adore her, often warming up within minutes (including dogs with separation anxiety and cats that otherwise are not social). They are also great with non traditional pets! Rylee handles reptiles and fish with just as much care as she interacts with furry friends. Her leopard gecko is genuinely one of the best behaved pets I have ever met!”

Katie H.
“Katie has watched my cavalier Arthur many times and always provides the best care and love to him. When I go out of town I know I can trust her and that Arthur will have a great time! She’s such a dog lover I highly recommend!!!”

Natasha A.

“Natasha is fabulous with Tulip. Very aware of her needs such as if it's too hot outside. Tulip loves her and the walk time. Highly recommend.”

Jessica B.
“Jessica is one of the most intelligent people I know, with an expertise in behavior analysis; I've seen them train animals and humans alike. I've also seen them care for both plants and animals like they were their own children, even when it wasn't necessarily their responsibility to do so. They will be caring and respectful to your pets and to your home. They are also comfortable with less conventional pets like rodents and reptiles, in case you happen to have any small or scaly friends. I would definitely recommend them to care for your pets.”
Kirkwood Glen dog parents share their Rover experiences
Brad is the best dog walker and I would highly recommend him! He is so thoughtful of the weather and how it affects our dog and makes changes as needed. He is timely and Raven always looks forward to his visits. Thanks Brad for taking such good care of Raven for us!

Natasha is wonderful! She is an excellent communicator and really great with our pets!! She always sends the cutest pictures and detailed notes about her visit!

Cory is a really sweet guy and my dog Alice loved him. He took care of her really well and sent me pictures of all their walks. I will 💯 book Cory again and trust him with my dog any time.

Loved using these two as our dog walkers! I did not meet them in person, but the interaction between texts and pictures were very prompt, genuine and kept us up to date with the pups. Thank you again and looking forward to using your services again!

She was so nice to Axel! Communication was amazing, she walked him a mile on a small 30 minute walk! We will continue to use her!
