“Victoria is the absolute best and I trust her completely. She loves my dog like he is her own. My dogs runs to her door and comes back exhausted. She is extremely accommodating and sends updates throughout the day. I highly recommend her and know that my dog is comfortable and safe in her care.”
“Jacqueline was very friendly and communicative, and Bunsen took an instant liking. We received photos of her well-being during her stay and of her mile walk. Jacqueline’s home is conveniently located in a popular historic town, making drop-off/pickup easy on the way to/from Hunter Ski Resort from our hotel. Bunsen was well cared for and happy. She was also so tired, that she managed to rest during the long car ride back home! We would book Jacqueline again.”

“Amanda was an amazing sitter for our dog Honey! She was thoughtful, communicative, flexible on timing, and Honey seemed so happy and calm when we picked her up. I couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Marielle took great care of my little Zuzu! My puppy started the day sad about me leaving her there and by the end she was totally bonded with Marielle! She was also totally tuckered out so she clearly got plenty of exercise.”

“We left our bichon frisée with Eleanor for the afternoon, and we were delighted. She was friendly and warm, and our pooch did well in his brief stay with her. I recommend Eleanor if you need someone to watch your pup.”

“My dog absolutely loves Jesmine and Channon’s place. She always looks to be having a good time. Today she didn’t even want to leave. These are good people and I look forward to my pup staying with them again.”

About: Hello! My partner and I have dog-sat for friends many times, but the request doesn’t come frequently enough! We’re happy to host your pet and treat it as if it were our own. We work nearby our apartment and can walk your dog during the day. We are fine with pets on our furniture and in our bed, but will respect any training you have in place. We’ll joyfully take your pet on long walks and adhere to feeding schedules. I have trained my family dogs in the past, and are happy to teach your pup a few new tricks! We ask for well-behaved, house-trained dogs OR crate-trained provided you have a crate. We’ll adore your pet completely while you’re away with all the attention you would provide to be sure it doesn’t get too lonely without you! Happy to send through photo updates so you can sleep easy knowing they’re in good hands. I have been working from home and accommodate just about every dog’s schedule! Generally, most of the dogs we sit are walked 2-4 times a day and fed twice. We have a spacious and secure 2 bedroom aparment and are generally home all week, with lots of lounging around on the weekends as well. We always prioritize your pet’s needs above all else and will comply with their typical schedule.
About: I’ve been around animals since I was a child and grew up on a farm in Puerto Rico, so caring for different kinds of pets comes naturally to me. I’m very attentive, patient, and mindful of each animal’s needs. I always make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved, and I treat them as if they were my own. I go the extra mile to keep them happy, relaxed, and well-cared for.🌻 I work a part-time job, and in my free time I hang out with animals. Taking care of pets really grew on me—it just feels natural. I love being around them and seeing all their different personalities. It’s cool how every pet has their own little vibe. I’m a nature-loving person who enjoys long walks and runs. My time with pets is always great, and I’m sure they have a blast too! I’m very mindful when it comes to animals — making sure they’re comfortable, energized, and happy is a must

About: Hi, I’m Ady and I’d love to care for your furry friends! I have worked with rescue and foster dogs for the past six years, caring for a wide range of behavioral issues, medical problems and physical therapy, as well as severe separation anxiety. If your dog is shy or aggressive around new people, or a rescue who may need some extra support—I’m the pet sitter for you! I currently work in part time in Woodstock, so I will have plenty of time to look after your pets! I spend most of my free time studying for the LSAT these days. I do have reliable transport from Kingston to the surrounding area so I’m happy to make a bit of a drive to reach you. My partner is unfortunately allergic to furry friends, so I get my fill of dogs through pet-sitting as much as possible! I approach each dog gently and slowly, attending to each dog’s unique personality and behavioral/medical requirements. I’d love the opportunity to make your dog feel comfortable while you’re away! My philosophy regarding anxiety in dogs is to mimic their regular routine as much as possible. So, whatever that may mean for your lifestyle and your dog, I’ll do what I can to ensure your dog feels safe. I am also happy to attend to any house-sitting duties (watering plants, taking in mail, etc) while I’m caring for your furry friend! I fostered a two-year-old rescue Catahoula & Pitbull mix this past Winter, with a routine of four walks a day and positive-reinforcement recall and leash training. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to work on with your dog, please let me know! Otherwise, I will make sure your dog is properly cared for and surrounded by a calming, loving companion.
“Kimberly was fantastic. Our pup spent the entire day with her while we golfed and had a birthday dinner. Very appreciative of her and will reach out again if we are in the area. Highly recommend!”

About: My own dogs are always the #1 teacher. They show me how to best care for them - with food, play, training, medications, travel, sleepless days and nights when they've been ill, and giving them all them comfort I can. I've volunteered at dog shelters, spent hours walking dogs in all kinds of weather, and offered comfort to friends who've had to say goodbye to their best fur friends. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention - playing, feeding, and scratching behind the ears. I take my dog for swims in the river, off leash romps in the woods, and leashed walks around town. We also play fetch and tug-of-war in the house or on the deck. If your dog needs a playmate, my dog, Jackson, may be a good fit. My cats - depending on their mood - like to lounge in the sun, pounce on the occasional toy, run up stairs, and hunt for treats I've hidden for them.

My compassionate and level headed disposition is exactly what pet-owners need when looking for someone to entrust with the care of their four-legged friends. Thank you for you consideration. I have a full-time job with a flexible schedule My availability varies allowing me to schedule pet-care services as needed. Planning ahead will ensure that I can make myself available when your pets need me. I have a fenced in yard and a cat to keep your fur-baby company in my home. Crating is also an option if your pet is crate trained. Keeping your pets safe and loved is my priority. Whether out on a walk, in your home, or mine, the most important thing is that your pets get the level of care that you would give them yourself.

“My dog had an AMAZING time with Nicole. He can be a bit anxious, but warmed right up to her and really enjoyed spending the day napping on the couch and taking walks. If I ever find myself needing a sitter in the area again I would rebook with Nicole in a heartbeat, especially since she even has fenced in areas outside that would be amazing when the weather warms up.”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Kingston commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
