About: I have been taking care of pets since I was 15. Both friends and family have relied on me to-walk, feed, bathe, administer medications and give extra love to their fur babies. Growing up as a child I have always had a passion for learning and understanding all different types of animals. My current experience in pet care is from working at a veterinary clinic and boarding facility so i can proudly say I have extensive experience with dogs from all walks of life. I have befriended anxious dogs who fear human and earned the acceptance of aggressive dogs. I’ve also worked with animals on a strict medical schedule. While I am currently working full time I am able to care for your fur babies before work(8am) during lunch(anywhere from 11am-2pm) or after work (5:30pm). If needed times can be adjusted please let me know at least 72hrs in advance. When letting pets outside I have a routine I like to follow. The most important thing to me is the pets safety so before letting them into the yard for play and or potty time I do check the yard for any misplace objects, iguanas, chickens, anything that could be a potential hazard to the pet. After I’ve deemed the yard clear then we can proceed to playtime or potty time. When on walks I do like to keep a short leash depending on the area in which we are walking if no cars I will loosen the lead so pet can explore more but if cars present I do like to stop/heel if possible.
“The boys enjoyed having a new friend. Betsy was great with communication & pictures. She spent plenty of time with Bow Tie & O’Malley. The boys didn’t miss a beat - didn’t really miss us. We will ask Betsy again to watch the cats sometime soon.”

“Highly recommend Courtney! She was quick to respond on initial inquiry and communication never stopped once we arrived into Key West. We hadn’t left our 4-month old pup with anyone until this trip to Florida. We also didn’t have the opportunity to meet Courtney in person, but her personality shined through in her texts and we knew she was trustworthy. She accessed the rental by herself, loved on our Hula, sent us a pic, and stayed in touch while we were away. Hula was happy when we came back. We would definitely rebook with Courtney if we make another trip. Thank you SO much!”

“Amy watched our two cats for six days, and she was fantastic. She sent daily photos and updates, which made us feel completely at ease knowing they were so well cared for. We’ve already booked her again—highly recommended.”

About: It would be my pleasure to care for your pet. I am new to Key West, hence my newer profile. I have cared for pets and animals my whole life- in my own home, for neighbors, at rescues and shelters, and for family- for both extended periods of time and drop-ins. I grew up with cats, hamsters, rats, a turtle, my bunny, and my brother even had a sugar glider! My dad was allergic to dogs, but when I moved out on my own, I got my first dog Mars, an incredible husky/boxer/pit mix. He is no longer with us, but now my partner and I have a little Chihuahua mix named Chimi. Throughout the years and the various cities I’ve lived in, I have volunteered at shelters and fostered dogs, cats, and rabbits. I have an extremely flexible schedule, so I am excited to offer my services, especially on weekdays and weeknight or in a pinch! Let me know how I can help your family and your precious pets! I am currently working remotely and on my own schedule, so I have incredibly flexible availability. I would love to drop-in for some quick TLC, a walk or run, playtime, or discuss a longer stay! Unfortunately, we are renting so I cannot host pets in my own home at this time. However, I am fully prepared to be onboarded into your pets’ routine and make sure they are cared for consistently and lovingly in the home that they know and they feel safe in. 🖤🐾

I’m patient, attentive, and love getting to know each pet’s personality and routine. Whether your pet is playful, cuddly, shy, or a little spoiled, I’ll treat them with the same love and care I give my own. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone you trust, and I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. 🐾❤️ I have a very flexible schedule and am home most of the day, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m able to accommodate different schedules and love having pets around for extra company! I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and cuddles. I always follow each pet’s normal routine and the instructions their owner provides. During drop-ins and house sitting, I’ll make sure they’re fed, have fresh water, get plenty of attention and playtime, and are comfortable and happy. For dogs, I’m happy to take them on walks and give them the exercise they need. I’ll also keep their space clean. I treat every pet like my own and will always make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while their owners are away. 🤍

“Nicole did a Great job of taking care of our 2 Dachshunds and older Lab. We took a trip to the Dry Tortugas and didn’t want to leave them in our 5th wheel for 14 hrs without a potty break. Nicole made two visits to walk and let the baby’s use the park for a stretch break. One of the girls wet the blanket in her kennel and Nicole noticed it and put it in a plastic bag outside our door. We enjoyed our trip knowing they would be safe and looked after! Thank You Nicole for taking care of our baby’s!”

“Annie has been great while I figure out this app and arrangement for my furbaby! She was quick to respond, initiated a meet and greet right away, and her first visit was a success! Will be hiring Annie for regularly scheduled play dates with my Chloe when work keeps us away too long”

About: Finding good, trustworthy, affordable care for your pets in the Keys can be challenging. Our family struggled for years to find a pet sitter and dog walker we could trust. So when I finally retired, I wanted to be able to do for others what I wish I could find for my family. I absolutely adore dogs and cats and have cared for my own (plus too many fosters to count) for over 30 years. I volunteer for several pet rescues and my husband and I have set up our family run 501c3 rescue transport with a dream of starting our own dog sanctuary someday. I am extremely active and one of my true joys is dog walking and outdoor playtime so rest assured your dogs will get plenty of exercise (if that’s what you’d like). I am retired and have an extremely flexible schedule so whether it’s just a single mid day walk or 3-4x a day visits while you’re on vacation, I can be there. I have a great deal of experience in special needs (I have 3 myself) and elderly dogs and cats and treat them with special patience and understanding. I have experience with puppies and their challenges and I have an impressive understanding of breed and behaviors. Rest assured that I will treat your pets with respect, kindness, love and affection while also adhering to the structure and rules that you have for your pets. Please feel free to message me with any questions or if you’d like to set up a meet and greet. I look forward to meeting lots of new dogs friends. I am retired and have a very flexible schedule. I primarily pet sit in the Lower Keys but am also available for Key West for dog walking. I have a large fenced yard which opens into a park for playtime. We also have a doggie door and large porch for sunning and watching the neighborhood. I take my dogs on 2-3 walks a day along a little traveled area near our home.

I follow your routines closely; feeding times, walks, potty breaks, cues, and any training you’re working on! Your pet will feel safe with me! In your home, I keep things tidy, respect your space, and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and snuggles of course! Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Key West
Bow Tie & O’Malley love having Amy come over and play with them. This is the second time we’ve had Amy check in - report - photos - & even clean up cat vomit. When we returned it was like we had never left. Cats just went about their business. Thank you, Amy.

I can’t say enough good things about Stephanie. She took incredible care of my cat while I was away and made the whole experience completely stress-free. She was super reliable, kept me updated with messages and photos, and it was obvious my cat was comfortable and well cared for. You can tell she really loves animals and goes the extra mile. Everything was clean, my cat was happy, and I came home with total peace of mind. I would 100% book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
