“I had a great experience with David while he watched my dog, Marleigh. He was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about Marleigh’s comfort and routine. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. It’s obvious he truly enjoys working with animals, and I wouldn’t hesitate to trust him with Marleigh again. Highly recommend!”

“Marti came over the day before to get acquainted with the dogs and for us to meet her and what we needed for the dogs . The next day she came over twice to take the dogs out and visit with them. Over all we and the dogs had a very good experience.”

“Marina is absolutely THE BEST! Since the first meeting all the fur babies loved her, she has such a great energy around them. During the entire time kept us at ease with updates, pictures and even videos. Our beloved pets were cared for like if we were there, we traveled with the peace of mind that everything was in order, which was priceless. “Halle did an excellent job watching my cat for 10 days while I was gone. The photos she sent me every day show him looking up at her adoringly. He was clearly in love! She also left my house (and the litter box!) spic and span, which is very much appreciated. Highly recommend.”

About: I've grew up around animals since I was born. I love them more than people. I had 2 golden retrievers I grew up with and I worked for three years at my hometown dog shelter. I'm currently free for whenever you need a sitter. If that were to change I would definitely let you know i'm time but i'm very flexible. I have a fenced in small yard and a nice house for dogs to stay at. I do not have any dog supplies but am willing to get some. I love running and long walks so high energy dogs are no problem.
“Lindsay was very professional and was very good at looking after our kitties while we were gone. She provided regular photos and written updates and got our kitties to trust and spend time with her in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend her without any reservations. She also alerted us when a tree fell in our yard. She is the best!”

“Angelina was wonderful! I had such peace of mind while she was caring for my dog and cat. You could tell she really loves animals and enjoys playing with them and seeing them happy and comfortable! I would recommend her without any reservations whatsoever.”

About: Growing up I had many pets, my mom could never say no so we were often a foster home for strays. In college I worked two years in a veterinary clinic and boarding facility. Now, I work as a seasonal wildlife biologist and though they are not domestic animals, my life is dedicated to the comfort and well being of all animals! I have experience with dogs and cats of all sizes as well as some exotic pets. Currently I am working as a delivery driver making my own schedule, so whatever is needed I most likely can make it work for you! I have three roommates who are more than willing to give extra loving! I'm also a runner, so if your puppy is one with extra energy I'm sure I can keep up with them!
About: I have lived in the keys for over 12 years and have helped many residents find dogs to adopt and have helped with training and exercising dogs. I have been caring for dogs and cats most of my life. I run a non profit animal rescue and have cared for as many as 20 dogs at a time. I am a PhD professional and I work from home. I am looking to raise money for my rescue and looking for dogs to exercise with. My 3 dogs will only do so much!! It has always been challenging to find people I trust to sit my dogs or care for them if I can't so I want to help my neighbors by offering this service. Let's discuss what I can do to assist you and your furry friends in living your best balanced life together. I work from home so I can easily take a break to let your dog out or take him for a run or walk. I can even take him to a sandbar or a paddle board ride. Dogs for boarding or day care in my home will be based on a case by case basis. I will come to your house as many times as needed to care for your pets. Dogs that come to my house will be exercised in whatever way they need, I have a fenced yard. I prefer to have over night dogs crated...but any over night dogs will be screened prior to make sure it's a good fit.
“Dawn was amazing! She came over for a meet and greet before and took great care of Skipper while we were gone. She went above and beyond to make sure he had everything he needed and had a fun time.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
