âTina was wonderful with our pets-they can be leary of strangers but took to her immediately and were very happy and comfortable with her. This was such a relief since we asked her to sit while we were on vacation. We also have a variety of pets-dog, cat, bunny and chickens and she was great w/all of them.â

âGrace did a great job with our dog, Avery. We met her to drop off keys prior and she was on time and very friendly and nice. She took good care of our Avery and we'd highly recommend her to others.â

About: Growing up I had many pets, my mom could never say no so we were often a foster home for strays. In college I worked two years in a veterinary clinic and boarding facility. Now, I work as a seasonal wildlife biologist and though they are not domestic animals, my life is dedicated to the comfort and well being of all animals! I have experience with dogs and cats of all sizes as well as some exotic pets. Currently I am working as a delivery driver making my own schedule, so whatever is needed I most likely can make it work for you! I have three roommates who are more than willing to give extra loving! I'm also a runner, so if your puppy is one with extra energy I'm sure I can keep up with them!
âMarti came over the day before to get acquainted with the dogs and for us to meet her and what we needed for the dogs . The next day she came over twice to take the dogs out and visit with them. Over all we and the dogs had a very good experience.â

About: I have lived in the keys for over 12 years and have helped many residents find dogs to adopt and have helped with training and exercising dogs. I have been caring for dogs and cats most of my life. I run a non profit animal rescue and have cared for as many as 20 dogs at a time. I am a PhD professional and I work from home. I am looking to raise money for my rescue and looking for dogs to exercise with. My 3 dogs will only do so much!! It has always been challenging to find people I trust to sit my dogs or care for them if I can't so I want to help my neighbors by offering this service. Let's discuss what I can do to assist you and your furry friends in living your best balanced life together. I work from home so I can easily take a break to let your dog out or take him for a run or walk. I can even take him to a sandbar or a paddle board ride. Dogs for boarding or day care in my home will be based on a case by case basis. I will come to your house as many times as needed to care for your pets. Dogs that come to my house will be exercised in whatever way they need, I have a fenced yard. I prefer to have over night dogs crated...but any over night dogs will be screened prior to make sure it's a good fit.
âMarina is absolutely THE BEST! Since the first meeting all the fur babies loved her, she has such a great energy around them. During the entire time kept us at ease with updates, pictures and even videos. Our beloved pets were cared for like if we were there, we traveled with the peace of mind that everything was in order, which was priceless. We are so grateful for her professionalism, kindness to our pets and understanding to our needs. We were really lucky to find her! BEST EVER!!!â

I will truly care for your companion as if it were my own. Patience, gentleness and love is what your animal will receive from me.

âKaytee was wonderful with Wally! She took him for a great walk and he was happy and tired when he got home. Kaytee was really good with communication and sent pictures of her visit with Wally. We would absolutely recommend her and when we visit the Keys again, we will definitely book her! Thank you, Kaytee!â

In your home, I keep things tidy, respect your space, and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and snuggles of course! When it comes to sitting in my own home, I have a golden puppy, under a year; also a cat, so sitting in my clients home would be my best option!
About: I house sat for multiple neighbors when I was in high school. Since then I have house sat or helped friends with their pets through out the years. All for pets and I love them all! âşď¸ I work from home part time. Thus my hours for this job are very flexible. I would prefer to work mid day between 10:00-2:00 MTWF I can not accommodate in home services. Due to roommateâs dog sometimes having an issue with other animals and sometimes not having an issue with other animals. Thus I can not risk there being an issue with your animal.

About: Iâm an experienced and dependable pet sitter with over 10 years of caring for both dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Iâm a hardworking, attentive caregiver who deeply loves animals and treats every pet as if they were my own. As a marine biologist, Iâve developed a deep understanding of animal behavior, health, and enrichment, which helps me provide thoughtful, attentive care tailored to each petâs unique needs. I love providing animals with energetic walks, playtime, or just companionship, and Iâm committed to making your pet feel safe, happy, and loved while youâre away! I am currently working full time, 9am-4pm M-F! For my doggos, I typically take them on a short walk in the morning before work, and then I will take them on a longer evening walk and have some play time with them as well to ensure they are receiving enough exercise! Depending on your location, I can stop by during my lunch breaks (12pm-1) to check on them! I have a part time job as well 2-3 days a week that is typically 4pm-10pm, but I am always able to stop by and take them on a walk prior to heading to my second job and can leave briefly as well if needed! My first priority is ALWAYS your animal and their wellbeing, so whatever you and your fur baby are comfortable with I will make happen. While in my clientâs home, I always, always make sure that your animalâs health, safety, and comfort are prioritized above everything else. I will stick to schedules that they are used to and comfortable with, and will ensure that I am giving them enough love, attention, and exercise while you are away! I like to have a meeting with you and your animals prior to watching them to get an idea of their behavior and their environment. I know some animals can take a little while to bond or may be extra anxious, so I take it slow while I am in their home and make sure that they do not feel threatened or concerned by my activity or presence. I will always treat your pets as my own, and will love them just as you do!
About: I have several family members who have trusted me in the past to take care of their pets. Pets are family, and to some people they are children. In my care they will be treated as such. I am currently stationed on Naval Air Station North Island, and cannot have a pet of my own but would love to take care of yours. I am fully available in the afternoons. I work full time in the Navy but usually get off around 11-12. I can be pretty flexible for your needs as long as I am off of work! Communication is key. Communicate what your pet needs and I will provide just that. I prefer clients home, because your fur baby will feel more comfortable in the comfort of their home. Anxiety is real, especially for animals.
About: I've started dog walking a year ago because my son was on his way to college and because I am retired at the young age of 38, I needed to find a way to feel useful and to give back and of course to feel happy. Walking pups and hanging out with them fulfills my happiness and of course a way to feel like I am useful and giving back... I am extremely reliable and dependable. I will make sure you can count on me with no worries with your furry baby:) I have my own vehicle and can be counted on with in minutes.. I'm in great shape so walking and running come very easy. I have experience and would make sure you can rest easy with me spending time with your pet!
âAnnie has been great while I figure out this app and arrangement for my furbaby! She was quick to respond, initiated a meet and greet right away, and her first visit was a success! Will be hiring Annie for regularly scheduled play dates with my Chloe when work keeps us away too longâ

About: Hi there! My name is Taylor, and I recently graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Biology. Iâve been pet sitting for over 8 years, starting back in high school, and I absolutely love spending time with animals of all kinds! I have experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and training levelsâincluding dogs, cats, and more. I am currently a summer intern at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, where I care for sea turtles on a daily basis. While Iâm unable to provide in-home boarding, I offer drop-in visits and overnight stays in your home to keep your pets comfortable in their own environment. I'm based in Surf City but happy to travel to nearby areas. I'd love the opportunity to meet your furry (or scaly!) loved ones. Looking forward to connecting with you soon! Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. Iâm available for in-home stays or drop-in visits and can provide walks and care before work (around 7 AM), during lunch (around noon), and after work (around 4 PM). I also have availability throughout the evening and overnight, making it easy for me to accommodate a variety of schedules and pet needs! As a summer intern currently staying in provided housing, I'm not able to offer in-home boarding. However, I'm very comfortable caring for pets in their own homes and have extensive experience with both drop-in visits and overnight stays. I make sure to follow each petâs routine closely and provide plenty of attention, playtime, and care to keep them happy and comfortable while you're away! It is very important to me that you are confident your pet is taken care of with no worries, so I like to send frequent updates and photos as well. It's also very important to me that my clients come home to a clean, tidy houseâjust the way they left it.
About: Iâm a huge animal lover and the type of person who will absolutely stop to say hi to every dog I pass. I truly love caring for animals and making them feel safe, comfortable, loved, and right at home while their owners are away. Iâve been watching dogs and cats for years for friends, family, referrals, and people Iâve met along the way, and I genuinely enjoy every minute of it. Growing up, my family helped with dog rescues â and still do today â so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I love getting to know every petâs unique personality. I also have experience with longer-term care and have watched pets for entire summers (up to 3 months at a time), so I understand how important consistency, patience, and trust are when caring for someoneâs furry family member. My goal is always to make your pet feel like theyâre on their own little vacation while youâre away and make sure they are happy, loved, comfortable, and cared for. I know leaving your pet with someone is a big deal, and I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and someone you can genuinely feel comfortable trusting with your pet. I would be so excited and grateful for the opportunity to meet you and your pet đśđą. I work from home remotely a lot and am able to take full care of your pets on the weekends and most weekdays. It is a hobby/job for me because I love animals so much! I treat everyoneâs pets like my own. Growing up, I had cats, dogs, horses, and every animal you could think of. I would love to have an animal now of my own, but I travel often!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
