Personalized care for your dog or cat - Big Pine Key

Highly-rated overnight sitters - Big Pine Key
About: Finding good, trustworthy, affordable care for your pets in the Keys can be challenging. Our family struggled for years to find a pet sitter and dog walker we could trust. So when I finally retired, I wanted to be able to do for others what I wish I could find for my family. I absolutely adore dogs and cats and have cared for my own (plus too many fosters to count) for over 30 years. I volunteer for several pet rescues and my husband and I have set up our family run 501c3 rescue transport with a dream of starting our own dog sanctuary someday. I am extremely active and one of my true joys is dog walking and outdoor playtime so rest assured your dogs will get plenty of exercise (if that’s what you’d like). I am retired and have an extremely flexible schedule so whether it’s just a single mid day walk or 3-4x a day visits while you’re on vacation, I can be there. I have a great deal of experience in special needs (I have 3 myself) and elderly dogs and cats and treat them with special patience and understanding. I have experience with puppies and their challenges and I have an impressive understanding of breed and behaviors. Rest assured that I will treat your pets with respect, kindness, love and affection while also adhering to the structure and rules that you have for your pets. Please feel free to message me with any questions or if you’d like to set up a meet and greet. I look forward to meeting lots of new dogs friends. I am retired and have a very flexible schedule. I primarily pet sit in the Lower Keys but am also available for Key West for dog walking. I have a large fenced yard which opens into a park for playtime. We also have a doggie door and large porch for sunning and watching the neighborhood. I take my dogs on 2-3 walks a day along a little traveled area near our home.
“When I got home, Cupid was sleeping so hard he didn't notice me. I can count on one hand how many times that happened! Thats good that he didn't cate, means he was relaxed while I was away. Super Grateful that both Sally and Izzy shared their beds and crates because my dogs are clueless to boundaries. Daily updates kept me at ease too! Thanks again!”

“Jeff took very good care of our small dog, Lola. He communicated with us throughout her stay with him. He sent photos of her as well every couple of days. I felt comfortable leaving her with him, knowing she was in good hands. We had flight issues on the way home, and Jeff was very accommodating with picking up Lola a few hours later than anticipated. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a dog sitter. We will use him again in the future.”

“Melissa and Harlee were wondering! This was our first boarding experience and I was excellent. I really appreciate that they send updates and pictures. Will definitely keep using them in the future.”

About: I’ve had to help take care of dogs my entire life… Growing up, our family always had larger breeds of dogs which taken care of was part of my responsibilities in my adult life. I have had my own dogs… I currently do not have any dogs though. I currently work full-time as a teacher, but I have flexibility to come home during the day. and I am finished each day by 2:30 I live in an apartment under a house with a very large yard, but not fenced in… My landlord‘s upstairs do have a big Doberman, but he is super friendly. I can only accommodate pet friendly dogs at my home.

“Victoria was excellent, my boys are very spoiled and sensitive but she kept them happy and entertained all the time, I could tell they had a good time when I picked them up. She kept me updated about them and sent pictures all the time. I will definitely leave them with her when I'm in key west again.”

“Jessica and her family are absolutely fantastic! Our Golden was very happy with them. So much so that he was bummed when we left their driveway. I have no doubt we will rebook with her.”

“Elizabeth was great! We booked a day at Dry Tortugas and our lovable Lab could not join us. Elizabeth met us early in the morning to take our dog for the day and then met us at the dock enabling us to catch a Mallory Square sunset with our happy pooch. We'd happily would use her services again and recommend her.”

“Excellent experience with Julie. I needed a day camp for my two cardigans while I went to Key West for the day. They had a great time. Julie sent photos and communicated through the day with photos. We were able to meet and greet the day before which helped dogs and me both! Thanks for an stress-free experience.”

About: I love dogs! I'll love on them, take them hiking, run with them, etc. I have been caring for dogs, mine and others, for over 15 years, from Jack Russels to Great Danes! This includes, long term and daily visits, helping train and giving medicines. I grew up with family pets and always had several of my own at one time. My own sweet dog is 15 years old and still going strong and I also have an adventurous little cat. Fun fact: They are both international travelers and have been to 6 other countries and traveled more than half of the United States and lived on a sailboat for over 5 years with me. I have open availability for visits and walks for dogs of all ages and sizes. I am great at training puppies and caring for seniors. I love to stay active and outdoors so taking your pups with me is a fun way to spend time doing just that!
“Very very good! My dogs are hard to attach to new people but they both had no issues with both Brendan and Gaby. Both sitters were very patient, kind, and sweet to by dogs and my dogs seemed to love them. They walked, played, and got along well with their sweet doogie. Beautiful place not all the way into Key West, it was very easy to get to. Would definitely use Gaby and Brendon again. They are hands on with the dogs, both work from home so the dogs always have company. Super Sitter!!!!!!”

About: Hi, I’m Amy! I grew up right here in the Florida Keys, where I work as a local artist. I have always had a big soft spot for dogs. When I am not creating art, I bring that same energy, patience, and care to dog sitting. I offer dog walking, drop in visits, and overnight stays to keep your pup happy and active. One of my favorite dogs I have ever cared for is Tiki, a pool loving Jack Russell! Staying active and keeping dogs cool and well hydrated in the Keys heat is a huge priority for me. Whether your dog needs a fun, energetic walk or just plenty of play time and yard games, I am here to make sure they feel loved and safe. You can always count on clear updates and lots of photos while you are away. I can not wait to meet your dog! I work part time as an artist, which gives me a very flexible routine throughout the week. Because my schedule is open, I can easily fit in morning walks, midday drop in visits, and evening care. Pet sitting is a top priority for me, so your dogs and cats get dedicated time, attention, and care right when they need it. When caring for pets in your home, safety and routine come first. I strictly follow your instructions for feeding, play, and house rules. I always double check that doors and gates are secure, keep your space clean, and send frequent updates. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, calm, and happy in their familiar environment.
“I don’t have the words that truly and accurately convey how great Betsy is. I joke that Reagan and I have separation anxiety from each other, but honestly, leaving him when I travel is just so hard on me. Well, Betsy has put my mind & anxiety at ease! She is incredibly sweet and patient with my rescue, and in turn he trusts her immensely and is beyond comfortable when he is left with her. Her home is his home. She sends about a billion photos, and I never found myself thinking “Gee I wish I knew what Reagan was doing right now.” because of her great communication, which is great because most of the time when I’m out of town, I'm thinking of Reagan. His comfort and happiness is the most important thing to her when he is there, and finding someone that loves him as much as I do is something that I can’t put a price on. If you haven’t booked with Betsy, you’re missing out.”

“Belinda is perfect for our anxious dog Boomer. She’s relaxed, calm and welcoming, and fit his needs with her constant attention. Belinda kept us informed, asked questions about his meds, and helped us problem solve to make sure he took them on schedule. Her patience and dedication to dogs is amazing! Her quiet location and fenced yard are great too! Definitely a 5 star stay!!”

“Grace did a great job with our dog, Avery. We met her to drop off keys prior and she was on time and very friendly and nice. She took good care of our Avery and we'd highly recommend her to others.”

About: Lifelong dog lover with hands-on experience caring for puppies through senior dogs. I’ve helped rescue and rehome dogs, so I’m confident working with different needs and personalities. Attentive, active, and consistent with care. I work from home full-time, so I’m able to give pets consistent attention throughout the day. I can easily schedule walks, playtime, and feedings, and my fenced yard allows for safe outdoor time. I keep a clean, safe, and calm environment in my home. “Tina takes care of my two cats in my home when I travel. She is responsible and kind and takes her time with them. They are content with her and there is no drama. I would highly recommend Tina, she communicates well and is easy to work with.”

“Halle did an excellent job watching my cat for 10 days while I was gone. The photos she sent me every day show him looking up at her adoringly. He was clearly in love! She also left my house (and the litter box!) spic and span, which is very much appreciated. Highly recommend.”

“Kaytee was wonderful taking care of our cat for 10 days. She kept us updated and sent photos. We felt very comfortable being gone for so long. We would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.”

“Deborah was wonderful with our Rosie and Raven. Raven is very skittish and she was patient and worked with her and Raven even ate out of her hand by the end of the visit. She kept us posted on her visits and sent many pictures. I am very thankful to have found her for our girls.”

“Lindsay did a fantastic job taking care of Skrimsli. He was very happy when we arrived home. She sent messages and photos daily. She spent time playing with him and giving him attention. We will definitely have Lindsay watch over Skrimsli again. Thank you!!!”

About: I truly love caring for animals and making them feel safe, comfortable, loved, and right at home while their owners are away. I’ve been watching dogs and cats for years for friends, family, referrals, and people I’ve met along the way, and I genuinely enjoy every minute of it. Growing up, my family helped with dog rescues — and still do today — so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. From energetic puppies to senior pets who just want a cuddle buddy, I love getting to know every pet’s unique personality. I work a hybrid remote schedule, which gives me a flexible routine and allows me to spend plenty of quality time with your pet throughout the day. That means more walks, more playtime, more potty breaks, more attention, and of course… plenty of belly rubs and treats (if allowed 😄). I also have experience with longer-term care and have watched pets for entire summers (up to 3 months at a time), so I understand how important consistency, patience, and trust are when caring for someone’s furry family member. My goal is always to make your pet feel like they’re on their own little vacation while you’re away — happy, loved, comfortable, and cared for like they’re part of the family. I know leaving your pet with someone is a big deal, and I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and someone you can genuinely feel comfortable trusting with your pet. I would be so excited and grateful for the opportunity to meet you and your furry best friend! 🐱
About: I have always been a pup enthusiast, I grew up with a huge black lab, Luke. He was the best dog ever, I’d love to take him for walks and play! As an adult I have many dog friends, my sister has the most beautiful pit bull Sadie. I’ll go to her house when I’m in town and take the dog out, Sadie loves when I’m around!! My boyfriend’s parents have two massive Great Danes, we walk them and take care of them all the time. I just have a huge heart for all of our four legged friends. I’ve never met a dog that didn’t like me. I’m extremely responsible and cautious while walking and playing. I’m a bartender so most days I’m free and would love to spend the off time walking and caring for animals. Exercise for both of us. I am extremely responsible and reliable. Always courteous and respectful. I would care for any animal as if it were my own, and treat them and my surroundings with the upmost respect.
About: I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely treat every pet like my own! I’m great with puppies; routine, training basics, and gentle structure. I’m equally comfortable caring for seniors who need extra calm and comfort. I pay close attention to body language and behavior, so you can trust your pet is safe, understood, and truly cared for!! This isn’t just a job to me; I love creating a happy, peaceful experience for every animal I meet! I am working part time, so I am flexible to fit the timing and needs of you and your pets! Weekdays are the best bet for me, weekends can be a little tricky! Whether your pet is in my home or I’m in yours, I focus on creating a calm, clean, and comfortable environment! I follow your routines closely; feeding times, walks, potty breaks, cues, and any training you’re working on! Your pet will feel safe with me! In your home, I keep things tidy, respect your space, and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and snuggles of course! When it comes to sitting in my own home, I have a golden puppy, under a year; also a cat, so sitting in my clients home would be my best option!

About: Hi, I’m Amy! I grew up right here in the Florida Keys, where I work as a local artist. Cats have a very special place in my heart. When I am not creating art, I bring that same patient and detail oriented care to watching your feline friends. I provide cat drop ins and overnight stays to keep your cat comfortable right at home. One of my favorite kitties I have ever cared for is Brisket, a silly street rescue. I watched him when he was just a baby kitten and even administered his medicine when he had ringworm, so I am very comfortable with extra care needs! Whether your cat loves active playtime with their toy of choice or peaceful couch hangs, I follow their lead and honor their personality. You can always count on clear communication and plenty of photo updates while you are away. I can not wait to meet your sweet cat!

“Lindsay was fabulous. Met us outside her house making drop off a breeze and sent several pictures and a video throughout their day with her. Thank you for helping us make our day on the water spectacular.”

“Lisette truly saved our vacation! We found ourselves in a tough spot when our sweet elderly dog became too anxious to stay alone in our rental. With almost no notice, Lisette stepped in with warmth and calm reassurance, welcoming our pup like family. She was patient, gentle, and incredibly attentive — sending us updates that let us relax and enjoy our trip knowing our girl was safe and loved. It’s rare to meet someone so caring and trustworthy at the last minute, but Lisette exceeded every expectation. We’re beyond grateful for her kindness and the peace of mind she gave us. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who genuinely loves and understands dogs!”

“Julie was available short notice for daycare & took amazing care of our pups. She sent plenty of photos & updates in the 6 hours they were there, and even had fresh homemade pumpkin cookies. The dogs came back happy & tired from a playful day. If you’re in the area, Julie’s services are well worth it!”

“Melissa and Harlee took care of my beautiful dog for a day. They were very kind, they kept me informed during the day about my dog and they sent me photos.”

“Amy was absolutely amazing ! Great first time leaving my puppy anywhere and she made him and us feel very welcomed ! They had so much fun together and she updated me with lots of pictures and videos ! Definitely recommend her”

“Victoria was awesome Our dates got changed and she was able to work with us Our dogs seem to be having with all the pictures Victoria send I would differently use Victoria again”

“Christina was great! We came to the keys on a last minute weekend getaway, and just needed someone to watch our sweet boy for the morning. I was having trouble finding a sitter until Christina came to the rescue! My dog loved her right away and she took great care of him!”

“My doggie fell in love instantly with Betsy. She is the sweetest person and animals really take to her. I trust her with my dog and my house key. She deserves the highest recommendation possible.”

“It’s not easy to leave your baby with a stranger. But the moment we met Sonja at a prearranged meet and greet location, she was a stranger no more. We could not have asked for a better experience. Biscuit was treated like family. Sonja sent us a collage of the highlights of Biscuit’s day with her new friends, Sonja’s own two pups and another guest. The best photo of all was Sonja and Biscuit on a pink flamingo float in her pool. Sonja is bubbly and pleasant, accommodating, and responsive. She obviously loves animals. You needn’t hesitate entrusting your precious pet(s) to her care. I only wish that she lived in Fort Myers so that Biscuit could visit with her regularly.”

About: I've been a dog lover my entire life and have owned a Husky, Lab, and Jack Russell Terrier, so I understand how different each breed's personality and needs can be. I'm comfortable administering medications, reinforcing basic training commands, and working with anxious or nervous dogs to help them feel safe. What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about every dog I walk. I don't just provide a service – I build relationships and treat every pet like they're my own. I run my own business from home, so my schedule is flexible and pet care fits right into my day. I can offer morning walks, midday visits, or evening strolls depending on what your pup needs. I also live on base, so if you’re stationed there too, I’m able to get on base easily for walks, no extra coordination needed. Safety is my top priority. During walks, I keep dogs securely leashed and stay alert to our surroundings, watching for other animals, traffic, and potential hazards. I respect your home by following your specific instructions – whether that's wiping paws before coming inside, securing doors and gates, or maintaining your dog's routine exactly as you've outlined. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust. I'm reliable, respectful of your space and belongings, and always communicate clearly about how the walk went. You can count on me to treat your home and your pet with the same care and respect I'd want for my own.

“David was our very first Rover experience and we couldn’t be happier! He came two days prior in order to meet us and the dogs and was able to develop a quick rapport-not easily done for our two senior, cautious dogs! On the day of booking, we were going to be away from cell service (Dry Torugas) so we were somewhat nervous. David, and the dogs did great. He sent pictures and left notes. He is a warm, friendly, responsible dog-lover. Highly recommend when you are visiting the Florida Keys.”

One of my favorite dogs I have ever cared for is Tiki, a pool loving Jack Russell! Staying active and keeping dogs cool and well hydrated in the Keys heat is a huge priority for me.

About: From as early as I can remember, dogs have been at the heart of my life. I believe every moment with them matters. Hi, I’m Shay. I’ve lived in key west 10 years and have lots of pet experience! Find me on Instagram - shewolfcanineservices Fun fact about me: I am currently studying dog behavior and psychology and moving towards becoming a certified dog trainer! I focus on creating walks that are both physically stimulating and mentally engaging, tailored to each dog’s energy level, temperament, and needs. I make sure each walk is a safe and positive experience. I treat every dog as if they were my own, ensuring they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for in every interaction. For me, dogs are more than pets—they’re companions, teachers, and a source of endless joy. Being able to support their well-being is not just my work, but my passion. My schedule is flexible and does change often. However, Sometimes I get called into work so if I am watching your dog, you have to be okay with me leaving my house and allow me to work my other job. Though this does not happen often. If it does I will let you know. As I do with my own dog, I come back after work, let him out and give him love and attention. That’s what your dog will get from me as well. If I am gone too long, my boyfriend would is just as dependable as I am will let the dogs out and feed them. He helps if I need help, but I rarely ever need help. I have 3 different size crates at my place (small, medium, large) so if I need to crate your dog before I leave my house, let me know. I will care for your pup as directed and will provide a peaceful environment for them as well as playtime, nap time, and keeping a consistent schedule. I will provide stimulation as needed based on the dogs energy levels.
“Every time I go out of town there is only one person I trust with watching my pup. Maryna always keeps me up to date with pictures of how my pup is doing & the walks they go on. 5 Stars.”
