“Comino returned healthy and happy and this is always are biggest concern! We loved the pictures and communication during his stay. Should we ever need him boarded again, we will definitely return!”

“This was my first time using the Rover app and successfully finding a sitter! I chose Heather as she already had great reviews and repeat clients. My pup baby had an amazing stay with Heather and her husband! He got a lot of love a lot of play time and Heather introduced him to walking as he is still very young and hasn’t tried walking him yet! He now can go up and down our stairs after a stay with Heather….which I truly appreciate him having this new level of independence! I highly recommend Heather”

“Lexi and her family treated our dog as their own, and they truly understand what it means to care for a dog. There was never a worry that Moose wouldn’t get adequate stimulation with the many walks and backyard time spent with this family. The most noticeable difference between Lexi and other sitters was Moose’s energy when we picked him up. He wasn’t full of anxious energy and he seemed like our normal pup. This gives us the peace of mind and then some for any future stays he has with this household.”

“This has been our dog's second stay with Amber and Michael, and they have been fantastic! Amber keeps us informed with updates and pictures so that we can feel relaxed and confident that our dog is being well cared for. I would highly recommend them!”

About: I've owned my own dog walking and boarding business for 8 years, have worked with dogs full time for 10 and have chosen to work and volunteer alongside animals from the moment I had the opportunity as a young teen. It is important to me that the dogs in my care are fulfilled. All dogs are taken on daily walks and provided with off leash social time in my yard. I am behavior savvy, cultivate structure through routine and boundary setting, and love to let dogs' personalities shine. My partner and I have a 6 month old mini Aussie, Otis, and he loves to host as well. I require that dogs are friendly with other dogs, crate trained and have leash manners. My "full-time" work is to provide for the dogs in my care- whether they are boarding, daycare dogs, or walking clients. This includes daily (and sometimes twice daily) group walks and off leash social time with my personal dog and whomever else is on the schedule. Sometimes we hike, explore a separate large fenced property or visit the beach-it all depends on how many dogs I have and what their temperaments are. I take relationship building with my clients (both human and dog) very seriously. It takes time to build comfort and trust. I prefer to have a short client list, an intimate group of dogs, and a relaxed and familiar flow throughout our day to day. I love to have extended stay boarding dogs, and have several clients who travel multiple months out of the year. I do not take one-time weekend boarding dogs. It is a lot of work up front to get new clients familiarized with our routine, comfortable & relaxed in the environment, and introduced to all of the regulars. A final note: I love shy/awkward dogs, senior dogs, and working with (most) young puppies. I struggle with highly anxious & hyperactive dogs and they are not the best fit for my environment and personality.

“Heather and her sweet dogs and doggie daycare pack made for a very good first time boarding experience for my 2 senior, kinda high maintenance, terrier mixes while I took a short business trip. They were well taken care of, including daily medications, and lots of playtime with the other dogs to keep them busy and they were in good spirits when I picked them up. I’m so grateful to have found Heather and hopefully she will have us back ?”

“Katherine is absolutely amazing. Our 16 year old anxiety ridden Morkie spent 3 days and nights with her and every thing was great. Katherine only takes one pet at a time and really gave Delilah special attention including having her snuggle up with her at night and take her for nice long walks.”

About: I have had big dogs my whole life....taking care of them, walking them etc. Because I lost my big girl a year ago, and because of circumstances, I am not able to adopt yet, but would love to walk/take care of yours! I am dedicated to supporting dogs and their pet care needs. I am currently available 24/7 and am looking forward to helping all the owners and dogs! I currently have one rat terrier named Jake who is like 14-15 years old (?) but he gets along with everyone and is non-confrontational ;-)

“Tammy and her family provided the perfect home away from home for my anxious dog! My vacation was considerably more relaxing than usual due to Tammy's expert care and frequent status reports and pictures. I'm so grateful I found Tammy!!! :)”

“Stacie was so communicative, friendly, and understanding. She sent me pictures daily of my girl, and was so kind in all of her messages. Her family is incredibly loving. I can’t wait for her to watch my girl again in the future because I know that she’s in capable and safe hands!”

“ My two Labradoodles stayrd the Memorial Day weekend with Marion Russo. They had a wonderful time playing with her and her dogs. When I brought them home they were relaxed and tired. I will use Marion's services whenever she is available. A great experience.”

“Lindsey was the BEST dogsitter! My pup got lots of attention daily, walks daily despite rainy weather, and even one adventure with their dog. Communication was excellent! Highly recommend her and would book her again!”

“Siarra is the most kind and caring dog friendly person I have met! She keeps me informed with quick updates and photos. I never have to worry about how my pup is because I am in the loop. This is my second time booking with her and I will continue to do so! Highly recommend!!”

About: Dogs have always been a passion of mine, and caring for them is something I truly love! I have hands-on experience in pet sitting, small-dog boarding, dog training, pack walking, and working at a professional boarding and daycare facility. My experience has taught me how to work with different breeds, personalities, and energy levels while prioritizing safety, enrichment, and positive experiences. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, learning new skills, or just relaxing with some extra affection, I’m happy to meet them where they are! I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, loved, and right at home while you’re away! I work part-time as a massage therapist, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets! I have availability throughout the week for dog walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. I’m also able to board small dogs most days of the week. I’ll work with you to find a schedule that fits your pet’s needs and routine! Whether your pup stays in my home or I care for them in yours, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved! In my home: I have a small yard for potty breaks and live next to beautiful walking trails for daily walks and enrichment. I only board one dog at a time, so your pup gets plenty of individualized attention. I have a friendly corgi and a cat, so visiting dogs must be comfortable living with both. I’m only away for occasional four-hour shifts at a nearby spa, and my partner works from home, so your pup will have company throughout the day. Crates are available if preferred, but your dog is also welcome to sleep with me! In your home: I follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, care instructions, and house rules. I provide daily walks, companionship, and plenty of affection. I work occasional four-hour shifts Tuesday through Saturday, but otherwise can spend my time at your home caring for your pets. For overnight stays, I just ask for access to a bed and kitchen. I know pets are family, and I’ll treat yours like my own!
“I would absolutely recommend Liz to take care of your pup. Hugo had a great time and it’s a great space. The pictures she sent were all of our doggie smiling and sleeping and totally comfortable. We will be using Liz for daycare as well as future pet sitting.”

“Lindsey and her husband took great care of our retriever for 10 nights! We received regular photos and videos and lots of communication. Lucky was well fed, walked, and loved like part of their family. He came home happy and relaxed.”

“Ellen was absolutely wonderful! She cared and loved my dog as much as I did and it definitely showed. She made sure to send pictures and updates throughout the day and was prompt with her response. I was able to enjoy my trip without worrying about my dog thanks to Ellen! Highly recommend.”

“Thiago was absolutely fantastic! My fiancée and I booked him to watch our two dogs, Danny and Bentley, while we were out of town, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the beginning, Thiago was friendly, accommodating, and extremely responsive. He made us feel comfortable leaving both dogs in his care, especially Danny, who is 12 years old. Throughout the stay, he consistently sent photos, videos, and updates showing the dogs enjoying themselves, going on walks, and getting plenty of attention. It was reassuring to see how happy and comfortable they were. He was also very flexible and communicative when coordinating drop off and pickup, which we really appreciated with our travel schedule. It’s clear that Thiago genuinely cares about the animals he looks after. We felt completely at ease knowing Danny and Bentley were in good hands. We would absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and caring sitter. Thanks again, Thiago!”

“Omg life saver!! We went to graton to visit people and king wasn’t able to go in so we took him to Frances! She is amazing! Always sent pictures and updates! Her and king had a great time! No problems but whole lotta naps!”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Kenwood can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kenwood home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kenwood.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Kenwood sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
