About: I have lots of practical experience with dogs. I have owned dogs my whole life and have dog sat for family and friends. I am able to do all of the necessary tasks in order to take care of your furry friend, up to and including: playtime, feedings, walks, and cleaning up after them. I do work a full time job but I do have some flexibility on the weekdays/weekends. Wednesday: anytime after 1pm Friday: 11:30-12:39, and after 4:30pm Saturday: anytime after 12pm Sunday: available all day I am not able to offer my home for pet care as I rent the home I live in and my landlord does not allow any pets. I am able to come to your home, so long as detailed instructions on how to care for your pet are provided.
“Cora has been such a great, reliable dog walker for us. She always showed up, communicated well, and took great care of our dogs. I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in hiring her for your pets needs!”

“I can only say great things about Gabriel! On pretty short notice, Gabriel was able to walk my 2 small dogs for 10 days. He clearly loves dogs & they loved him. He is very reliable & attentive to the dogs needs. I won’t hesitate to hire him again.”

“From the moment we met Peter, we immediately felt at ease. He has a calm, confident energy and quickly tuned in to our boys’ personalities and temperament. Peter asked thoughtful questions and paid attention to the details to make sure he could provide the best care possible. We felt completely comfortable leaving our dogs with him and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

About: I grew up in a neighborhood my friends used to call “the farm”. We had 3 dogs, one neighbor had chickens, one neighbor had horses, and another neighbor had goats. Along with various dogs and cats at each house. Because I was the oldest kid in the neighborhood, I was the go-to person anytime a neighbor needed a house sitter or even just needed me to feed their pet dinner since they were out late. When I got older and started driving, I began dog sitting for our large group of friends, taking care of all sizes of dogs, cats, and the occasional reptile. Although I work part-time, I am generally available 7 days a week for house sitting. I am willing to accommodate crazy schedules and last minute plans if need be. I have a small home but a big yard, so while I can’t accommodate boarding, I have a large outdoor space and my own pup that is eager for play dates during the day. As for house sitting, I provide attentive, personalized care in my client’s home so your pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely. With my history in the animal health field, I am comfortable administering any medications if needed. As a person who values communication, I provide regular ‘pupdates’ and pictures so owners feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Daphne enjoyed her walk with Nikki! Our pup is nervous with new people and Nikki took the time to get to know her and let Daphne get comfortable with her. Will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“Caitlin was absolutely fantastic with my Basset hound. Her prior experience with hounds truly reassured me. It was a last minute request because another dog sitter fell through and she completely saved me and my dog Rupert. She is not only highly professional but also incredibly friendly. I will definitely be hiring her for dog walking again in the future.”

I’m available as needed throughout the day! Can check in during the work day as well depending on distance. Please let me know how I can help you I can treat your pet with the same care you do! I would love to meet your furry friends and help out where it is needed.

“Christiana was absolutely wonderful during her time with Dory. I booked her for a walk and got no less than three pictures and updates during and after the walk. I have never felt more comfortable with my dog in the care of another person. If I could give more than a five star rating, I would have. I cannot wait to use her spectacular services again!”

About: I’ve taken care of every kind of pet you can think of. I started using Wag a few years ago and fell in love. Each has a specific personality and all are very loving. I have watched my dad’s boxer, my mom’s shitzu, wag customers’ dogs from lab to terrier, a few friends’ cats and most recently began caretaking my own kitten. I have worked with dogs and cats that need to take medication and crate training as well. I am excited to meet your furry friends! I make my own schedule and currently have Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays pretty open. I also can fit in a drop in or quick walk when I am not in meetings! I have experience caring for both dogs and cats while their owner was away. The most important thing to remember is a. Always refer to the owners manual they have given you! And b. Just give them love and keep their routine the same and you’re golden :)
About: I am a reliable and energetic dog walker with a passion for pups. Your furry friend will get plenty of exercise, playtime, and personalized care. I am available anytime on weekends and during the week starting after about 6 or 7 pm. I am also available during Monday afternoons between 2:30-4:30. I can provide overnight care and pet sitting. I'll stay with your pup, providing companionship and sticking to their normal schedule for a stress-free time.
“Mariah is a true professional! Thank you Mariah for taking care of my pups— it feels great to know they are in great hands with a person I can trust who knows what she is doing and is in this business for the right reasons.”

“Ilse did great with Xena. She was attentive to Xena’s reaction to other dogs . She kept her under control and calm. Xena was happy to see Ilse when she came. She was on time and was needed for a week after I had hip surgery. Good job.”

About: I’ve had cats, dogs, hamsters, birds and rabbits my entire life. I’ve had special needs cats that require specialized care including giving fluids to a kitty with kidney disease. I’m educated in what to look for indicating signs of illness and am comfortable and experienced giving medications. I am self-employed so my schedule revolves around whatever pet sitting, dog walking or other services I have scheduled. I am not available to provide constant care at your house. I would be in and out all day because of dog walking and drop in visits. If you need a sitter to be at your house 15+ hrs a day please look for a sitter that can accommodate your needs. I have dogs and cats of my own, so I generally only pet sit for rodents and cats that I can keep in a separate part of my home. Dogs would have to have a pre-care meeting with my animals to make sure that they get along.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
