About: I've volunteered at the Sonoma County animal shelter for the past year walking, bathing and training dogs. I also have two dogs of my own, Dexter and Lulu, who I walk and feed everyday. I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and I love it. I am a current student at Santa Rosa Junior College studying nursing and am looking forward to gaining more experience with pet care, as I have a passion for animals. Please contact me directly regarding availability, as it can differ with my school schedule. That said, I am extremely flexible, often able to take last-minute appointments, and always do my best to accommodate. I am available anytime on weekends, while weekdays vary but remain flexible around my classes. I can also do overnights if needed. I ensure pets receive attentive, personalized care in my clients' homes, including regular feeding, exercise, and companionship, while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment tailored to each pet's needs.
“Amy was amazing with my incredibly shy cat, very communicative, sent great pictures each drop in, and made me feel at ease knowing she was checking on the kitty, who ended up becoming friends with her. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Gina is such a reliable and responsible person who provides excellent care to my cats! She is very communicative and always helps me feel at ease when I travel. I definitely recommend booking with her!”

“Julianna took good care of our kitty and helped in other ways while we were away, bringing up garbage bin and bringing mail inside. She was friendly and flexible. Will definitely ask her back!”

About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and years of hands-on experience. I have four dogs of my own, and have experience training numerous dogs with different personalities and needs. I'm comfortable working with young pets who need patience, consistency, and basic training, as well as older pets who may need a slower pace and extra attention. I treat every animal with the same patience, care, and respect that I give my own. Pet care is already a natural part of my everyday life. With four dogs of my own, my daily routine includes feeding, exercise, playtime, training, and plenty of attention. Caring for animals has always been a big part of my life, so adding another pet to my routine comes naturally. I’m dependable, attentive, and make sure each pet gets the individual care and companionship they need. I care for every pet based on their normal routine, personality, and their owner's instructions. In a client's home, I make sure they have fresh food and water, exercise or playtime, a clean and comfortable environment, and plenty of attention. I respect each pet's boundaries and their home while keeping safety a top priority. Whether it's a high-energy dog, a playful kitten, or a pet that needs extra patience, I treat them like they're one of my own.
“Trey was genuine from the very start and took great care of my cats while I was away. He kept things clean, checked in, and made sure the cats were happy and comfortable the whole time. I could tell they were well cared for when I got home. I highly recommend Trey to anyone looking for someone dependable, kind, and easy to work with. I’ll definitely be booking with him again.”

About: A mature adult of 59 years. I offer overnight house sitting with full property care. Your home stays secure with daily checks, mail and packages handled, plants watered, and any maintenance needs spotted early thanks to my twenty years in the trades. Clean background, million-dollar insurance, bonded. Flexible and professional. One hundred fifty dollars per night. Available for in home stays, or multiple home visits during your absence. What to expect When you book overnight house sitting, I stay in your Santa Rosa home so it stays occupied, secure, and running as usual. Pets keep their normal routine. The house gets daily attention. A typical overnight sit includes presence in the home, morning and evening property checks, feeding and fresh water if you have pets, mail and package handling, plant care, trash and recycling on pickup days, lights and locks as you specify, and a quick look for leaks, odd noises, or anything that needs a heads-up. I send photo or text updates so you know things are on track. If you do not need someone staying overnight, regular house checks can be scheduled instead. I stop by on a set cadence, walk the property, handle mail and packages, water plants, confirm locks and systems, and flag anything that looks off. I bring twenty years in the trades plus security and property-management experience, so I notice small issues early. I carry one million dollars in insurance and I am bonded. Clean federal background check. House-check visits can be scheduled separately. We start with a Meet and Greet. You walk me through the house, pet routine if any, alarm, keys, and any off-limits rooms or cameras. I follow your written list. No guests unless you approve it. House left tidy when you return.
About: I’ve been caring for friends and neighbors dogs for years now. I’ve never had the opportunity to have a dog myself so I live vicariously through taking care of others dogs! I’m currently a college student and I’m available to work weekends and even nights. Right now I’m on summer break so my availability is pretty open! I’m very flexible with what is best for the dog/for the client in their home. I’ll make sure the dog won’t be able to get out and will keep a watchful eye.
About: I’m a reliable and caring dog walker who truly enjoys spending time with dogs and making sure they feel safe, happy, and exercised. I pay close attention to each dog’s needs and personality, whether they love long walks, quick potty breaks, or extra sniff time. I’m responsible, punctual, and treat every dog as if they were my own, so you can feel confident your pup is in good hands. I’m currently working part-time at Trader Joe’s and am a full time student at Sonoma State University! I do have a lot on my plate but I like to be busy so if I’m available to spend time with your dog I’m more than happy to! I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life ranging from different breeds such as yorkies to pit bulls so I know how to cater to each dog specifically. Your dog’s safety comes first. I’m reliable, attentive, and follow your instructions carefully, making sure every walk is calm, secure, and enjoyable.

About: I love animals more than people! Been petsitting all my life. First to offer my friends and neighbors to be Auntie to their little muffins. I owned a petsitting and dog training business in Portland for many years... had to move and change jobs but I still love having as many furfriends as possible! I consider myself very intuitive and always respect a pets boundaries. Listening is key and watching for body language. I will take the very best care of your home and pet!! Just like they were my own. I work for myself and have a very flexible schedule. I can work around what works best for you. Great at time management and super reliable. I prefer sitting at my clients homes and have extensive experience with housesitting alone. I have managed luxury homes and can offer extra things like plant watering, mail pickup, coordinating with staff, etc.
About: Working with animals brings great joy to my heart, feeling very intuitively attuned to their needs and wants. Also taking good care of the owner. Currently I have quite an open schedule to care, walk, sit or to board pets. 2-4 days a week I volunteer at a couple of animal sanctuaries with a flexible schedule depending on things. Pets would be given the utmost care and attention here at my home or at the owners. I am comfortable with pets on couch and even to snuggle in bed with me too. Your pet would be cared for as if it were my very own, with lots of love.
“Victoria was super attentive and a great communicator. We just needed a quick drop in for our cat this time, but we would definitely love to have Victoria take care of Johnny again!”

About: I have around five years of practical experience in providing dependable care for pets belonging to friends and family members. My pet experience includes walking, bathing, arranging meal times and treat routines, as well as enjoying quality time with them while their owners are away, sometimes for weeks at a time. Therefore, I feel quite confident in my ability to care for any dog for extended periods. Plus, I genuinely love going for daily walks every morning, and dogs always manage to bring a smile to my face. Since I'm on break, I'll be free Monday through Saturday, 5 days a week. What hours work best for you will work best for me! I will always review the guidelines given by my client for house-sitting or dog-walking services, and I will make sure to follow any additional instructions to a T. When I first meet a cat or dog, I take the time to understand the animal's temperament, checking for any signs of anxiety or specific likes and dislikes. I care a lot in ensuring that the pets feel secure when around someone new. After that, I simply enjoy spending time with them, hoping that they will grow to appreciate my company too!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
