“This was the first time we boarded Sammy and we were very happy with Kelli and Nick. Sammy did really well. He really took to Nick. He came home happy. They took great care of him. Thank you!! We will definitely have them watch Sammy again.”

“We had a great experience with Gabrielle! Everything went smoothly and Clover came home happy and well cared for. Gabrielle was so kind, communicative and easy to work with. We really appreciated the updates and attention she gave. Would absolutely book with her again!”

“It’s hard to leave your pet, but I always feel confident when she’s with Christina. I get daily updates and photos, Christina is prompt with communication and flexible. My Sadie can be picky about who she likes, but she always feels safe and comfortable in Christine’s care!❤️”

“Nathan & Jenna are amazing hosts. Kora was not over excited during her stay but is missing her host & friends when back home. Nathan was sharing frequent videos for Kora daily and also, picked/dropped her off.”

“We love using Wyatt to watch our boys. They always come home well cared for and TIRED. He always sends us updates during their stay, is super friendly, and can say he genuinely cares. Definitely recommend boarding with Wyatt. 5/5 stars. Will continue to board with him.”

About: I have been watching pups for around 4 years and am good with being patient and making the pup feel comfortable around me as well as having fun. I am a full time student and go to class four times a week with studio time on the weekend but after class this would be really good for me to be able to take breaks and use this time to make some extra money. When I take care of a pup I feed them, take them outside, and play with them. I also am big on making the dog comfortable and feel safe with me.
About: All my life i’ve been surrounded by animals of all sorts; dogs, cats, chickens, horses, turtles, you name it and ive had it! I think it’s very important that us caretakers provide all needs for your furry(and non-furry) friends! Some animals have certain accommodations like extra play time, long walks, attention, meal plans, or even separation from other animals in the house that i believe must always be met. Making sure your animal feels loved and cared for even in absence from their owners is also crucial in helping keep our animal family happy! Having many animals of my own (1 dog, 8 cats, a turtle, a lizard, and chickens) caring for these animals has become a daily routine. Being away for school definitely puts a riff in my routine of animal care so i’m always looking for a way to spend some extra time with animals even if they’re not my own. My dog has terrible anxiety and needs extra care. She is often let out to run free in our backyard. Out 8 cats need fed and watered multiple times a day with one of our cats liking the great outdoors as well. The lizard and turtle need fed on a different schedule as they don’t get fed daily. Litter boxes and other animal dropping are cleaned in a daily basis along with any other mess that comes along with pet ownership. Regular baths and grooming are also necessary for the proper care of all animals.
“Sarah is very professional and thorough! She took notes about all of my puppy’s preferences and made sure to follow up with me throughout her stay. My dog got lots of love, care, and play with Sarah!”

“Rachel & Dan are amazing! Leaving your fur baby with strangers is a HARD choice, but Rachel sent me updates and photos everyday to ease my heart and mind. I was so thankful to see her everyday. They stayed up to accomadate my late flight home and sent my girl home with the sweetest surprise. I would 100% recommend.”

“Susan was a wonderful host and caretaker for Precious. She was very attentive to what her feeding schedule should be as well as her sleeping preferences. She sent photos and updates in a very timely and enjoyable manner and made us feel very comfortable knowing that our little dog was being cared for in the very best way. After the stay, she even noted steps she had taken to ensure Precious ate well. Previous seemed at home at Susan's home and it was one of the few times she wasn't rushing out the door to "mom."”
“Isabella made sure our two dogs had a great time with her! They went to the dog park, on a hike, and even for a pup cup. She sent lots of pictures and was very communicative. We appreciate her taking on our last minute booking!”

“Athena is so kind and so compassionate, my dogs loved their time wither her & her family. They loved their new friend Rufus❤️ communication was outstanding, lots of pictures. It was such a comfort knowing how well cared for and loved my boys were while I was away. They were part of her family ❤️❤️❤️”

“Kathleen and Nathan took great care of our dog, Ruthie. Lots of pictures and we really felt like they treated her like family. Will definitely ask them to watch Ruthie next time we travel!”

“Our dogs can get easily stressed when away from home. When I picked them up from Madison's, they looked relaxed. They were excited to see me but also very much at ease at Madison's which was great to see. I am very glad we know Madison now and look forward to her caring for our boys again!”

“Icy has a lot of anxiety when he needs to be boarded. Wendy did a great job caring for his needs. She has a beautiful home with everything required to keep a dog happy, healthy, safe and comfortable. Thank you Wendy!!”

“Sauddi took care of our three dogs; one husky and two smaller older dogs while we were on a two week vacation. She was extremely attentive, timely, and attended to our dogs. She went way above and beyond with toys and even heated blankets for the older gentleman. I cannot say enough, how amazing she was! I don’t think they missed us at all while we were gone :-) She was very mindful of their well-being and happiness, took them on walks, and sent us pictures every day. Additionally, she also looked after our chickens, and even had to capture a few that didn’t make it in the coop at night! She went beyond full service. I would definitely hire her again and will be disappointed if I can’t get on her schedule next time.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kent
Bella did a wonderful job watching our dog, Storm, while we were out of town overnight! She was able to accommodate our last-minute booking and asked thoughtful questions beforehand to make sure she understood his routine and needs. Throughout his stay, she sent plenty of photos and updates, took him on multiple walks, and even brought him to a dog park so he could run around and play. We would highly recommend her!

Boomer had a wonderful stay with Isabel and Philo. He especially enjoyed all of the walks during his stay! We knew that Boomer was well taken care of while we were out of town. Communication with Isabel was terrific. She also provided us with multiple photos on a daily basis. Thank you again, Isabel!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
