“Esmerilda took great care of Finn. Prompt and very good communication. She was very patient and caring. The feedback I received from Finns dog friend's were all positive. I would highly recommend Esmerilda on any dog services.”

About: Hello! I have taken care of dogs since 2009 with various experiences with my personal pets and many other family members pets. My uncle used to be a K9 police dog trainer and has many personal pets. Through him, i've been exposed to various sizes, mentalities, and activity limits. My experiences with big dogs like Great Danes and intelligent dogs like Belgian Malinois give me the confidence to handle any pets! I also have experienced dogs that can be easily spooked and might produce scary looking body language, allowing me to handle de-escalation while respecting the pet. Overall, I have seen all types of dogs and am equipped to give your pets a fun experience! I am currently working a day shift on UC Davis campus but can be available after 4:30pm on weekdays and anytime works on the weekends! I can take care of pets in a clients home by providing treats if allowed and using the environment of the clients home to entertain their pet. I won't be able to care for pets in my own because I don't have proper space, but I can walk them around the neighborhood!

About: I’ve taken care of dog for with more than 5 years. I personally have two dogs in the house which are 10 lbs and 30 lbs. I’ve successfully trained 3 puppies in the past 5 years and also fostered before for a rescue. I’ve also been providing boarding service for my friends with at least 6 dogs, pictures are included in my profile. All the dogs will be separated when I’m out, and basic training can be provided if owner requests. I’ve successfully taking care of 5 dogs at one time including two puppies. I’m a recent graduate at UC Davis, and currently WFH all day. I will walk dogs twice a day and give them bathroom break at least 4-5 times every day. I have a fenced yard in the house. All the dogs will be separated when I’m not at home. For safety reasons, dogs will stay in the crate when humans are not around but they can be on furniture once humans are presented.

About: Hi! My name is Tenaya and I'm currently a graduate student at UC Davis. I grew up around animals and now I have a cat named Gnocchi. I worked as a veterinary assistant for three years, so I'm comfortable with animals of all ages and I'm capable of administering medications. I also have experience taking care of a range of exotic animals from working at an animal sanctuary. As a student, I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule! I can usually create availability during the day, depending on your pet's needs. As someone who has worked with animals for several years, I understand that each pet is unique and may require special care and attention. I really love animals and will do my best to care for your pet as you would!

“I can’t give her enough stars! Maddie was very professional, met me the night before, interacted with my dog and spent the full 30 min with him for both of the walks. I highly recommend her.”

About: I've always been an animal lover and hope to pursue veterinary medicine as a career. I've spent a lot of time around dogs and cats, and consider myself very qualified to handle people's pets. I'm home from college from the summer and have ample time on my hands, which gives me plenty of flexibility to schedule time to take care of your pets! I have one small friendly dog that mostly stays inside (she's very lazy)and a large fenced in yard. I always watch my dog when I take her out to go to the bathroom just in case she somehow tries to escape or attempts to eat something she shouldn't be.

About: I grew up around dogs, and always knew I would want one of my own. I finally adopted my beagle rescue mix, Busy, three years ago! Being a dog mom has deepened my love for all creatures and I value any time I get to spend with all types of furry friends! I have experience with puppy training, administering medications, senior care, and more :) I am a graduate student at UCD currently on summer break! My research schedule is very flexible so I would love to come care for your puppy anytime of day :) I am happy to come take your dog for a mini adventure, hang out at your house, or anything in between! If your dog would enjoy a furry friend, my dog can tag along or she can stay at home. I have experience with crate training dogs, walking/playing with reactive dogs, puppies, and elderly dogs.

“Lucy was great! Very communicative and professional. I would definitely hire her again.”

About: I am a student at UC Davis school of Veterinary medicine with training in behavioral modification, emergency medicine, and general animal health and wellness. I also have experience with exotic pets such as birds, reptiles, and small mammals. I am currently out of school on break so I can be very flexible with scheduling. I am willing to make check in trips or stay overnight. I have one pup of my own who lives with two other dogs. Our pups have 24 hrs access to a back yard and get plenty of attention and all the toys they could possibly wish to chew.

“Thank you, Jenna! Our spicy pup, Lou, was well taken care of on his walk today! We really appreciated Jenna’s thorough notes. We’ll definitely be reaching out to Jenna to walk Lou again :)”

About: I’ve helped friends with their dogs here and there—walking, pet-sitting, and just hanging out with them while their owners were away. One was an older Lab who needed a little extra care, and another was super high-energy and loved long walks. I’m not a pro, but I’m responsible, easygoing, and I really love being around animals. I try to make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and get plenty of attention. I’m home for the summer and have a pretty flexible schedule, so I’m able to fit pet care into my day easily. Whether it’s morning walks, afternoon check-ins, or evening visits, I can make it work! I can’t host pets at my place because a couple of my family members are allergic, but I’m more than happy to take care of them in their own home where they’re most comfortable. I know how important it is to keep their routine and space feeling normal while you’re away. I’ll make sure they’re safe, relaxed, and get lots of attention.

About: I have experience with all sorts of pets like chickens, turtles, cats, and dogs. I love them all! ❤️ I am Cat and Dog First Aid Certified through the American Red Cross, Certified Pet Expert (CPS-DW), and an active member of Pet Sitters International (PSI). I am currently working on becoming a CPPS-Certified Professional Pet Sitter. Though I am semi-new to pet sitting, I am constantly learning about pet care and safety. Having grown up with pets, I understand they become members of the family. I cared for my sister’s former miniature poodle Sandy and have grown up with various breeds like chihuahuas and a dachshund. Though I do not own pets anymore due to my lifestyle and living arrangements, I miss being around them. My friends told me about Rover and I jumped right in! I offer personalized care, including daily walks and playtime. I ensure your pet feels safe, loved, and well-cared for as if it’s one of my own! As a Certified Pet Expert, I believe in using positive reinforcement instead of negative methods like e-collars or leash corrections, as they can harm trust and lead to aggression. While I'm not a dog trainer and won't suggest how to teach your dog, I'll happily follow your instructions and support your dog's training (: I work part-time and my availability changes weekly, so feel free to reach out for specific dates/times. My work shifts lasts around 4-5 hours so I may need to step out for house sits but drop-ins are typically are more flexible with this schedule. I update my availability regularly though the specific times may vary because of my part time. I’m flexible and happy to accommodate your pet’s needs whenever possible! For drop-ins for cats I take care of pet duties like food/water and the litter box. Then I either play with them or snuggle. I don’t mind going a bit over time to build trust, play, and spend time with them depending on their needs (: While walking your pet, I ensure they get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, following their preferred pace and routine. I prioritize safety by keeping them on a leash and being mindful of their surroundings. For house sitting, I maintain your pet’s routine, providing meals, playtime, and cuddles. I make sure they feel secure and comfortable in their own home. I also handle light tasks like cleaning up after your pet, keeping the litter box tidy, and sending you regular updates on their well-being. Your pet will feel loved and well cared for while you're away!

“Hannah is easy to communicate, punctual, and friendly. My dog enjoyed the walk with her!”

“She's amazing and professional. I had to stay one more day in Peru , and TATE was there to help. I cannot put into words how great she is. ”

“Jax just loves Zoe! She great with him and knows how to handle big dogs. She’s also very attentive to Jax’s needs and treats him like her own. We really trust her and appreciate all of her help! 😊 🐕”

About: I have my own senior dog at home that doesn't do well with children or big dogs, so I know how important it is to pay attention when caring for a reactive dog. Currently, I'm a PhD candidate in ecology working with lizards and other wildlife. I got my BS in Animal Science at Cal Poly and completed all of the pre-veterinary requirements, although I ultimately fell in love with the research path instead. I've always been very observant and good at anticipating what my own pets need to be comfortable and happy and I'd love to help your pet feel more relaxed while you're gone. I'm currently a graduate student with a fairly flexible schedule, since I work from home when I'm not teaching to spend time with my own needy dog. I won't be offering boarding, as my own dog isn't the most social with other dogs. I'm happy to visit your home or take your dog on walks around the neighborhood.

“Didn’t get to meet Brooke but she was accommodating and my dog looked happy in all the photos. Thank you so much for taking good care of Zoey!”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was very young. I have always enjoyed the company of dogs and I want to be able to provide owners with comfort and peace of mind that their furry friend is in good hands. Schedules and routines are great and I am adaptable and flexible to the individual care of each dog. Big or small, all dogs are welcome. I work full time hybrid schedule. Two days at home and two days in the office. I only work 35hrs so I have Fridays off every week. I like going on walks/runs after work around the neighborhood and the trails throughout Davis. I have a fenced backyard and an indoor cat. He is friendly with other animals and has his own room if he needs space. If a pet is crate trained, I can accommodate to that as well. There is enough space in the home for a small to large crate. At a client’s home, any direction given regarding the care of their pet will be followed accordingly.

“Elise would be a great sitter. She is playful with our dogs and is always welcomed by them when she visits. Their wagging tails and excitement to "go for a walk" is always a fun time. She brushes their fur and plays catch with them for long periods of time in-between cuddling and walks. Elise is great with dogs. She's been a friend to our fur-babies for.over almost 15 years. We have two dogs (Sequoia who turned 15 & Juniper who is 5 years old) who have benefited from the care and Love Elise has shown them. Thanks for your time. Woof! -Jaime”

Xander A.
“Xander will make an excellent sitter for all pet owners that are lucky enough to hire him. As a fourth year vet student and dog and reptile owner, Xander has lots of experience at providing excellent care for his and other animals. He not only understands the importance of husbandry, but he has the clinical wherewithal to notice when they express abnormal behavior and show clinical signs. Xander grew up in Tulare, cow capitol of the country. So, he has experience with large animals and rambunctious animals too, like the Queensland Heelers, that his father has bred for decades. He is a calming presence and is also very respectful of other people and their property. I could not recommend another friend above Xander amongst all of my friends in Davis at the moment.”
