“This is our first experience in trusting our pups to someone other than a family member or a friend. We cant be more pleased with our experience and it’s due to Aiden’s wonderful personality and love of animals. Aiden continuously provided us with updates and photos of our pups. He was always very prompt in replying to our messages. Both the pups settled in with him very comfortably and even though it took our 16 year old Ruby a little longer, she came around. We are so pleased with Aiden’s care for our pups, we’ll definitely book with him again and refer him to our friends and family.”

“Tammy was lovely and took great care of our 3 dogs and 2 cats while we were away for a long weekend. They were all happy and relaxed when we got home. The house was left impeccable! We absolutely recommend Tammy to take care of your pets, and look forward to booking her again in the future.”

“Sherry was great! Very responsive, asked good questions, and answered promptly. Took good care of our two high-energy pups! Our home was neat and tidy, just like we left it. No problems or concerns. She was great to work with! Will use her again next time we’re headed out of town!”

“Jada was amazing with our three fur babies while staying in our home. This was the first time in a long time that we trusted someone outside of family or friends, and we couldn’t be happier with her care. She was fantastic with our dogs, kept us updated with texts, and was always responsive to our messages. When we returned home, our dogs were happy, and their routines remained unchanged. We will definitely be using her services again!”

“Riley is awesome!! She took such good care of my two pups while we were traveling for the holidays. She sent lots of updates with pictures. They got lots of cuddles and attention. I appreciated that Riley treated them like her own. Will definitely be using Riley in the future and would recommend to my friends in the area!!”

About: I've been caring for animals of all shapes and sizes for as long as I can remember, and I'm the go-to pet sitter for friends, family, and just about everyone in my circle. My experience includes working in doggy daycare and animal shelters, where I cared for pets with a wide range of temperaments, energy levels, and needs. Because of that, I'm comfortable handling animals of any size and confident administering medications/taking care of any special needs. Beyond professional experience, I spend my time fostering both cats and dogs, helping them feel safe, loved, and cared for while they waited for their forever homes. Whether your pet is playful and energetic, shy and reserved, or requires a little extra attention, I strive to provide compassionate, reliable care and treat every animal as if they were my own. i'm currently working full time, i have a dog of my own who i take care of. most of my off the clock hours revolve around making sure she is happy and content! i plan to add your pets needs to that schedule! I have a dog park I use at my complex for some free roaming as well as walks at my nearest park. in home, i can crate if needed or your pet is welcome to hang out around the house with us!
“Stacy took great care of my fur baby! She sent me daily updates and pictures of him, and made sure to spend so much time giving him attention. This was my first time leaving Bentley, and I felt so comfortable leaving him in such great hands! She even took him on extra walks, and I couldn’t be more grateful :)”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for over 3 years and genuinely love being around animals. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to feed, walk, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I’m patient, dependable, and comfortable with pets of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I always make sure pets feel safe, loved, and cared for like they’re my own. I’m currently in college working toward my teaching degree, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, house sitting, and overnight care on most weekdays and weekends. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to work with your pet’s normal routine to keep them comfortable and happy. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. “We are blown away by Nina and how well she cared for our pets! She was prompt when she came over to meet our fur babies and was very detailed oriented. This was our first time using Rover and have already booked Nina for our next two trips. She sent daily videos and updates, as well as did some brushing on the animals while we were gone. Our home was immaculate when we returned home from a busy day of travel and her personal touches are unparalleled. You should definitely book Nina, just not when I need her, lol.”

About: I currently have a 3.5 year old Shiba Inu myself, and if you know anything about these breeds they are very stubborn doggos. So I’m very familiar with patience and consistency. Raising her has given me the experience with feeding, walks, playtime, and basic grooming. In addition to her I house sit for friends that had a bully, dachshund, and chihuahua all in the same household. I have also had another friends dog stay over for a month a biggo 10 month Doberman puppy. So I understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and will always make it a priority to help them feel safe and comfortable. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine. I care for my 3-year-old Shiba Inu every day by making sure she's fed, has fresh water, gets plenty of attention, and stays on a consistent routine. Since I currently have a flexible schedule, I'm able to spend quality time with pets and adapt to their individual needs. I understand that every dog is different, and I'm committed to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. When caring for pets in my own home or a client's home, I always focus on keeping them comfortable and maintaining their normal routine. I make sure they have fresh food and water, provide plenty of attention and playtime, clean up after them, and monitor them to ensure they're happy and safe. I also follow any specific instructions from the owner, such as feeding schedules, medications, or other care preferences. I understand that every pet is different, and I do my best to give them the same level of care and attention I'd want for my own dog.

Jasmine did a wonderful job taking care of our dog Pepper. She sent pictures and kept us updated throughout our entire time away which really helped with any nervousness we had. I would 100% book Jasmine again in the future if we need a sitter and I recommend her to anyone who needs pet care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Karen walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Karen maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Karen choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
